location value for money clean bathroom
only local TV channels aircon a bit fiddly
They upgraded our room
Bed was hard
Good value for money hotel. Convenient location to everything ....supermarket next door , tram stops and train stations nearby efficient n economical laundry service few shops away from hotel .
Can't really fault anything
Very affordable, especially for the size and location. Clean and spacious rooms. Very comfortable beds.
Air con temperature cannot be adjusted
Everything my sister and I couldn't not fault JJ's Hotel.
Nothing everything was A1 class.
We loved how central the hotel was - within easy walking distance of the nearest Metro station and an equally easy walk to the waterfront, malls ad other interesting places. There was a supermarket in the basement of the building, and lots of cool local eateries nearby. The room was clean and comfortable.
The absence of any hot water on Monday morning, presumably because the hotel is only 4 floors of an otherwise commercial 20-story building. Over the weekend the water was extremely slow to heat up when the shower was turned on, but at least it was possible to shower eventually. Not on Monday.
Location and Convenience to Island shopping.
Weary travelers found JJ's very hard to locate in 37+ Deg's. Taxi drivers had not heard of JJ's but once located everything was fine.
Location, clean facilities, good value
Not a lot of amenities. Good place to stay if you plan on being out and about in the city.
Just a short walk from Wan Chai station and also the tram line is one street over. Good value for money.
The room was of a good standard, the price was right, and the hotel had not wasted money on a fancy lobby.
Steps from road to lobby. Not as easy to get a taxi on the street as they said!
The room is clean and quiet big, the location is nice.
Some of the facilities are used for so many years, they need to be renewed.
Bed & room size. Cleanliness
TV - channels too restricted
Near, easy, convenient transport , eating place and sight-seeing locations. Hotel staff, friendly, efficient and alert, fast wi-fi, cleanliness and good ambience
No central lobby
wifi is fast enough for you to use clean and comfortable bed
no wash room equipped in the reception floor
Location is relatively convenient. But for the price the space and size of the toliet is very worth it! Would come back to this hotel again.
The hotel was in a great location and the rooms were clean but the beds were extremely hard and we werent notified that breakfast wasnt included. Overall i think we could have gotten more for our money but had a pleasant enough stay
Excellent location with close proximity to MTR and buses at a reasonable price.
The thermostat on the air conditioner in the room was not working correctly but it was only a minor concern.
transparent toilet thin walls
The hotel is well situated in the Wan Chai area, a short walk from an MTR station and the Star Ferry pier. It does not have a fancy lobby as it's on the 9th-12th floor of an office building, but the building does have courteous 24hr security/doormen on the ground floor. I stayed in one of the Superior Doubles, and found it quite good for the price. Neutral decor, natural light, and amenities such as a kettle, complimentary teas/coffees and water bottles, toiletries, in addition to a safe and mini fridge. There are not many affordable options in HK that actually look and feel like proper hotels. JJ is definitely one of the few, so I would recommend it to people on a budget who still expect certain minimum standards of service and cleanliness.
The air-conditioning is very loud, and only has three settings, which appear to be Freezing, Chilly, and Pretty Chilly. So if you like your room temperature to be Just Right you better not come in August. The noise from the street is not a problem, but as my room faced the three lifts it was quite loud during the day, but this migt not be a problem for other rooms.
The location is excellent, everything is within easy reach, handy to transport, room is clean and tidy, highly recommend for budget traveler.
The daily cleaning and change of towels
Door's slamming at different times.
Overall, I like the Deluxe room in JJ Hotel as it was a very spacious room and the deco was pleasant and presentable with semi-circle transparent shower room. The Superior room is half the size of the Deluxe room, and it's complimentary toiletries are also of lower grade, too much a difference.
This hotel doesn't provide any breakfast as it has no cafe, only an external restaurant on 5th floor. The location is 10mins walk from the subway station and the signboard of JJ Hotel is too small to be noticed. The hotel is not on the ground floor, it is on the 9th to 12th floor. And the building is not street levelled, we still have to carry our luggage up a few stair ways to go inside the building.
good location, big room, clean, quiet environment ( stay at 10th floor)
bathroom ventilation is not so good
It is my 2nd stay at JJ, and the beds didn't fail to impress once again. The place is very clean and comfortable as usual, the staff are more friendly this time. However, signs of wear & tear are showing, especially in the bath area. Still the best stay in HK I ever had within this price range, and I am a very frequent visitor of HK & its various hotels / hostels.
On the 1st morning of our stay, our doorbell rang at around 10am & before we could answer, someone tried to open our door which we chained & apologised profusely when we went to answer the door. It was the very attentive housekeeping staff. As we meant our trip as a leisure trip so we wanted to wake up later.. So we had the Do Not Disturb sign on everyday thereafter. Housekeeping is considerate, and will call us around 12+pm everyday to check if we needed them to clean the rooms. A really small peeve, but a little stressed like our every move is watched. Housekeeping still changes the towels everyday despite them being set aside. Although it is very hygienic & thoughtful, I thought it is a little eco-unfriendly. However, these are really small matters. Will definitely still stay at JJ on my next trip.
+ Take E11 bus from Airport, get off at the stop called "Stewart Road, Hennessy Road", then walk down Heard street and turn right onto Wan Chai Road to reach the hotel. (Takes 60mins from Airport to Hotel) The hotel's reception is on the 9th floor. + Close to a Tram stop. The tram is very cheap and you can go almost anywhere for $2,30 per person. You get onto the tram at the back entrance and pay when you get off. + There is a convenience store/supermarket beneath the hotel. If you stand in front of the hotel's entrance, to the right there are stairs that lead down to the store called "Wellcome", they sell everything so you can grab breakfast there. + The hotel is clean, has air-conditioning and is well situated.
+ Be careful of the Michelin starred restaurant on the 5th floor, they tend to rip tourists off.
