Lucky Hostel  

Friendly staff, Helen & Mr. Lee were so help and friendly!! Lovely stay. Excellent location, closed to mtr station and shopping areas!!

Small lifts, but not a big deal:)

Everything worked fine here -- the bathroom was very large by Hong Kong standards, and the room's air conditioning was bliss.

Very strange decor. The walls and windows had all once been covered by heavy mirrors, which have more recently been re-covered by paper. So you can't see out the windows unless you open them. This makes the small room feel even smaller and oppressive. Also, during our four-night stay, the room was never tidied nor the trash removed. Because Lucky Hostel doesn't accept credit cards, you can't guarantee your reservation with one and don't feel comfortable that it will be upheld. The management requests payment through Paypal, but I don't have a Paypal account, so it took a lot of emails to feel assured my reservation would be there. Also, Lucky Hostel requires a 50 HKD key deposit, which is refundable when you depart -- and don't want to have any HKD. They let me use a USD 10 bill instead, so I received that back at the end. You might want to use this approach to assure you don't leave Hong Kong with unwanted local currency.

The staff at Lucky were very good at letting us leave our backpacks with them for the day so that we could tour the city. They also gaves us good info on buses etc... very helpful

ms. helen can speak and understand english & mr.lee is nice, both are approachable. hotel bit small but then, it was clean and comfortable to stay,with hot water and a.c., very near to ladies market, shopping center, mtr and bus terminals.hotel with reasonable rate.

1) Location is perfect. Near to Mongkok train station. Lots of shop & street market situated nearby. 2) It have all the basic facilities I need such as hot shower, water dispenser and laundry.

1) Room is small. But every hotel in hong kong is very small. It does not really matter as I only need a clean room to sleep.

we enjoy our staying in Lucky hostel, the room is clean and comfortable, the staff give us the map for hk and infortmation about hk famous tourist place. It make us easy to get there! The staff are very helpful!!! That's a good tip for us! I will recommend for our friend to stay this hostel! If we have chance to come to Hk again, we will stay at Lucky Hostel again!

The staff are friendly and patience to explain we everything we ask. The room clean snd comfortable for hk hostel, most of the hk hostel room are very small, but Lucky hostel the room size is bigger than other hostel. The confirm our booking is very quick!!! It is good service! They give the room what we expected! That we we want! Very good! So I want tell for all people who wish to come to hk, to recommend to book this hostel!

The shower was hot indeed

1. Unfriendly and not helpful personnel 2. Smelly bed linnen and old towels 3. Tiny room with no place for baggage 4. Plastic under the sheets on the bed 5. Shower going over the toilet 6. I did not feel like sitting on that toilet 7. Tiny sink in the toilet of no use 8. The hotel staff can confirm room availability and then say it is not available just the day before your arrival 9. You can be shown one room and then accomodated in a worse one 10. The sound of busses 24 hours

very central to our needs .Helen very helpful ,her help of any questions asked was valuable ,it allowed us to get around much quicker . will go back again.

we had a late check-in, which was no problem for them. The room was small (but so are most of the rooms in Hong Kong), but clean and the bathroom was OK size. The location is great, in the lively Mongkok area, the metro station is really close and the A21 bus stop to the airport is also not far away.

Great budget hostel with great location!

I liked the location of the hostel - very close to the bus stop from the airport (A21) as well as from the MTR station. Double room I occupied had a good size bathroom which is a rear thing in any hostel.

I didn't quite like the fact that one of the people who run the hostel was smoking in the corridor almost every time I met him, and this smell was getting into my room. Also it would be good if guests were provided with tea and coffee (it is not very expensive for the hostel owner, but makes any guest feel better especially right after arriving to the hostel).

it is quite clean and not noisy, the owners provided currency exchange at good rate, its location is strategic, convenient to access lots of shopping places

the rooms were too small, the double rooms were not any bigger than the single room, and there was hardly any space to place the luggage there is a huge idol statue near the entrance

Smell of cigarette smoke

Me, my husband and my friends stayed in Lucky Hostel for 5 days, I like the location of the hotel is very close to the shopping center (market,mall and restaurants), this is the first reason we chose this hotel.

Rooms are too small . suitcase under the bed is very difficult to set up and clean up until we had to put all the stuff on the bed, very uncomfortable when we come home from a trip when the room look so messy!!!!

The owners are friendly. They are very, very nice. Hellen speak english very well and her husband is so supportive!

The room is small but it is reasonable and comparative with price.

What I like about Lucky Hostel its near to everything - shopping, MTR, citybus, food.

The plus point is :- (1) Helen (staff) is very helpfull and can speak english well so no communication problem. (2) Hostel Location is in Mongkok, 1 of the busiest district in HK - If you want to stay in a lively neighbourhood esp night time, MONGKOK is a perfect area 4 u'r trip. (3) Lots of shops and mart, within walking distance and easy to buy things ; Subway is 5 min walking. And most importantly, MC DONALDS is a step ahead - also 5 min walking...I'm lovin it hehehe (4) Facilities all in order and good condition esp the air-cond & hot shower

No minus point except the room is really small. Not a big issue 4me as a solo traveller but if for 2 people, could be not comfortable as there's no space to move around in the room. Anyway, Rooms in most hk hotel / hostel is relatively small compared to other countries. And I only use the room during night time, so I'm fine with it.

The owner is very friendly, the room was cosy, inexpensive based on location and in general for Hong Kong.
