Situated within the famous Chung King Mansion, Canadian Hostel offers value-for-money rooms with free Wi-Fi and air conditioning.
Score from 117 reviews Good
It was clean and cheap. The bed was comfortable and big for a single room. Owner provided slippers, hair dryer, and toothbrush. He also made up the room while i was away.
Too little space. Once you stand, there won't be any space. Had to put my luggage on my bed. Weird smell coming from the bathroom but this was easily fixed by spraying perfume. Owner sleeps in the hallway so you would've to be careful when leaving too early (7am?) as you might step on him.
Low price Location Friendly staff
Lack of space Bathroom WiFi not always working Decor
Position, room, staff.
Not well signposted at lift. ard to find. Noise like a siren in room at 12mn, 4.15am, 4.30 am.
Easy check in, BIG room compared to many other similarly priced places.
This hostel is run by an indian bloke (surprise) and in contrary to what you might expect from the building that houses it, the room is very clean and the staff member (1) very helpful. Nice people are all that matters in the end. Got an upgrade from an 8m2 to a 10m2 room simply because it was available. Hong Kong is terrible in terms of (affordable) housing but this is one of the better options!
We were chucked away in a room on the 15th floor of the ´Chungking Mansion´, a massive building housing hundreds of tourist in various ´hostels´. With only 1 elevator per uneven floor and manny people, a single journey easily takes 15 minuten. Furthermore you have no view and look at a sort of elevator shaft crammed with air cons. But hey that´s hong kong for poor people. Still a good option if you don´t have heaps of money to spend.
very small room, dirty, old, dark and noisy with bath tube at night...
Thanks Bruno...you are the best!
location. a clean room. lower priced for this area.
a small room.
Bruno and Staff, Location, Price, Comfortability, Security, Cleanliness.
Lift, Crowded people below the building.
Nice staff,clean bedsheet,fast wifi,good location
Quality service Promptness Helpful friendly Informative family enviroment great wi-fi network
banging noise from the neighbor house
The location, value for money and above all Mr. Bruno the caretaker of Merryland is an admirable person adding to the comfort zone.I had a Dyxlixia Son with me, and Bruno attended him with great humanitarian care.
Friendness of staff
The manager is very congenial and helpful. Wifi connection worked well. When we checked in, we were shocked at first but it's a relief when we were told that we would actually stay in another room and the room turned out to be quite spacious for a party of 3 people, though the bathroom was very small. Overall, it's an okay place for budget travelers in such a city where an inch of land is worth like gold.
The building itself is not in good condition and looked unsafe at the first glance. The amenities like the elavator are outdated and very, very slow. We have to wait in line for 10 - 15 minutes.
Close to metro station ,
It was supposed to be at mirrador mansion , but they sent us to Chungking Mansion . Though, was good and the staff really nice !
Bruno, the caretaker is really caring and helpful. A homely comfort.
The room was quiet small, but for that price its okay.
Bruno the manger, very nice and very helpful to us, serves the needs of every customer. Though Room is small very clean, with microwave oven and kettle provided very good wifi provided comfortable airport connection location is very suitable for visit to surrounding place of interest and good restaurants staff guided us places to visit
First night good.. then..
False promises and the price is very high on the other very bad rooms. But it's just to walk around and check the other Mansons, you can find mutch better and cheaper option/place. Make sure to get a receipt, pay cash, otherwise you can be ripped off and thrown out. Also applies to reservations through booking.com. I love Hong Kong But if you have a lady, or are a lady, dont stay here.
The staff ,the location (central kowloon , easy to reach top places of Hong Kong) , the room clean with good facilities
The location (building in which the guesthouse is is not very attractive due to lots of people harassing tourists)
Mr. Bruno is a very nice guy. And very helpful. He is perfect to do such job, just like a 5 star hotel staff.
Owner was very friendly, safe place even it doesn't look so the first moment
First shock, when you arrive where the hostel is supposed to be - but this is not the actual place where you will stay (it will look a little bit better). However, when you come the first time to Hong Kong from a western country you might be culture-shocked. :-) Accommodation in Hong Kong is in general overpriced, However, Mirador Mansion is one of the cheaper places to stay. But you only get what you pay! The hostel was ok, but all night long there were some noise, like a vibrating mobile phone on a table next to your ear, I wasn't able to sleep at all.
Location... One second from all transportation
I booked a family room for 6 persona. They send me to different guest house with 2 separate rooms while I have kids Elevator is horrible u may have to queue for 20-30 minutes. It goes to 15th floor in 90 seconds carrying only 5-6 persons. U can hardly move in the room terribly small. U sit at the toilet side legs. No room for legs in front. Iits inside a building that has over 20 guest house . Dirty building. For little more than the price I paid I would have stayed in a real 3-4 stars hotel in 2 rooms instead of 6 beds end up with 4 horrible beds. Don't go to such place if u r a budget traveller... You may go only if u r a refugee trying to stay alive hiding in hong long...
Very strategic location
The value of money and hotel two diference things no tvs Chanel,no wifi, room too small,
