Metropark Hotel Kowloon  

We choose Metropark Hotel Kowloon randomly thru internet and have no regrets. The hotel services, shuttles buses make it accessible and convenient at a reasonable rate. The staff are helpful particularly the officer in charge of tours and places of interest. She gave us suggestions for the 5 days stay, maps and instructions of how to get to these places - and we did so on our own - without any trouble. This saved us quite a lot of money (we had 3 older children) which meant more cash for shopping! There were local restaurants within 1 minute's distance good food at very affordable prices and wide selection of Chinese dishes open 6am-12pm; 3 groceries within a 5 min walking distance with almost everything available. Free Airport bus drop off and pick up every 20 mins right in front of the hotel. We had adjoining 2 rooms (for 5 of us) which were not large - but they comfortable enough. We didnt feel cramped.

No complaints whatsoever. If we could go back we would like to stay at Metropark Hotel Kowloon again. My children loved it. We had a chance to see a couple of the other hotels we had considered - and we're glad we choose Metropark Hotel Kowloon!

Very good location, they have a shuttle bus that works great... From the airport it's only 100 hkd and it's free to certain city locations. The staff is very helpful and friendly, we even had free moon cake because of their holiday, it was left very nice presented in our room. The room was a bit small, however, clean and I guess standard for Hong Kong. Very satisfied with this hotel and their service, thank's...

Location and price

This hotel has a free shuttle to the city center which compensates the fact that is far from the city center. The hotel has a nice swimming pool in the top floor and is free for the guests. The hotel has a nice environment.

I didn't like the fact that in www.booking.com this hotel was a 4 star hotel and when I got there I realized it is only 3 star. Worst than that... I hate when hotels pretend they forget to include pictures of the real rooms. If you plan to stay in the standard room ask for the real pictures first! If I knew in advance that the real room was like the one I was, I probably would have choose another hotel. This is because, like everyone, I was searching for the best hotel at the best price, and those fake pictures made me choose this hotel.

No wireless in room.

The hotel is well located , we can walk and we meet a lot of commerces, restos, buses and 10 min by foot for a metro The size of the room is not too small, but average; The free internet in the room works well The staff is helpful and finally, the little breakfast included is so good and generous. I will return at this hotel

Great service, specially the shuttle to downtown and Mong Kok. It has a Pool on the roof which is great. Free Internet

The location, even its close to the shopping stores of Mong Kok, the area nearby doesn't look that good that apparently used to be some years ago.

Excellent hotel in Kowloon : for a reasonnable rate you get a good location, walking distance of tst, a large and clean room, with free lan internet, and a lot of charming attentions of the staff. Free shuttle service. Felt at home after a few days. I really recommand this hotel.

service was impressive as I was granted an early check-in & late check out. felt uncomfortable after 2 days in my initial rm & requested for a change of rm..was granted the change of rm & the lady staff performed her duties very professionally & diligently as the process was done in a fast & orderly manner...hotel location is located very near to the ladies market & there are supermarkets & neighbourhood cafes nearby offered very nice local food..will definitely go bk to the hotel again nx time I visit HK.

the negative part was the hotel location was abit far frm the nearest MTR station...requires abt 15 mins walk to Yau Ma Tei station..however the experience of walking frm hotel to MTR station was gd as u cud see & feel the ambience & scenery of HK within the neighbourhood of waterloo rd..

This hotel is no frills and utility hotel. It was just apt. The location is good and just 10 minutes walk from the popular Mong Kok shopping area. The best part is, there are very useful small supermarkets like 7-11 and K-Central in 2 minutes walking distance. You get free shuttle to Tsim Tsa Sui every 30 minutes, which drops you at Mong Kok (drop only) en route to Tsim Tsa Sui. There a HSBC ATM just outside the hotel. You also get the Airport Shuttle (K5) to Kowloon Station (free pick up and drop, every 20 minutes) which connects to the airport express train. I suggest, don't take breakfast package from the hotel, as you have small eateries nearby to eat at much cheaper rate.

The AC was cooling too much and there was no control. It may be a room specific issue. Apart from this, there was nothing negative about the hotel.

The service

The location was excellent. Very nice staff especially at the concierge desk. Very efficient check in and check out. Good shuttle service every 15 minutes to center of Kowloon, subway, down-town tst, Star Ferries etc. Good breakfast buffet and à la carte service until 10h30 (good for jetlag!). Comfortable beds and good sized (for Hong Kong) and calm room, outside pool on the roof. Free internet in the room.

I recommend not to use the shuttle service from the Airport. It took us an hour to reach the hotel as the bus stopped at several other hotels on the way. Not worth the money, hkd 100.- per person. For the same price (2 persons) a taxi took us to the airport in half the time.

Swimming pool, shuttle-bus

I never encounter any hassle at all, there is a free shuttle to Mongkok and TST every 30 mins and this helps a lot in most of our travel destination. Though the frontdesk are too busy they are helpful in all our inquiries. The room facilities are complete with TV, complementary fruits, bottled water, beds are comfortable and room size is okey for a family of 3. I had a very good night sleep.

I was not informed of the price increase beforehand for the extra bed, I booked our reservation last November, I should have been informed earlier that they will effect the price increase upon check-in, all the while I thought that the one reflected on my confirmation is the one that they will charge me in, since there is no message that appears on my confirmation that it is subject to change without prior notice.
