Nice helpful staff.Anything close by. As MTR , Tram, Buses, Causeway Bay , Wan Chai Street Market.
Very noisy at any time, very small room, very thin window panes, very thin room walls, nearly no place to shave or to brush teeth. no direct elevator access. to expensive.
price, free Wi-Fi, location
Front desk and internet speed
Being near MTR
Vauge location of lobby and having to take stairs to catch an elevator. Molds and staff.
The staff are kind and helpful.
The tv remote, I have a hard time figuring it out on how to work. The distance between the hotel and MTR. But the distance between the hotel and the tram is acceptable. The distance between the hotel and the airport bus stop is too far away. Considering we have to carry the bags.
the location is great. Very near to the MTR station, food options aplenty in that area. rooms at least were clean so no complains. Pillows thin and so was blanket.
the first allotted room which I upgraded by the way was very very small and you had to climb 4 storeys of stairs to get to. Thankfully the hot water was not working so they upgraded me to the reception wing which meant a lift. BUT this still meant you had to climb a floor up to get to the lift. There is a handicap lift that can get your luggage up but the reception wasn't too happy to let you use it. And of course they were small girls so a bit mean to ask them to help them hoist your heavy luggages up the stairs anyway. So I (also a small person) tried to hoist everything up myself. Anyway room was also small. It had 2 small windows that opened up to the noisy street. So not so exciting. The pictures showed a quaint hotel with whimsical chinese influence. Place is really not it. So don't sign up thinking you are going to have a chinese themed place. This is really just a small hotel with small rooms. And maybe with an old chinese pot or something. Feels like a very budget hotel. With this amount, I have done better in Hong kong. Booked thinking it was very traditional, had a balcony etc etc. The initial room that I had booked which was spoilt anyway had a balcony that was effectively sitting with the exhaust. So nothing like the pictures.
Good wifi, friendly staff
Too little bathroom and too strange placement of toilet, bad wifi
Has everything you need. Helpful team. You got to love the smallest handbasin in the world.
Widows should be double glazed to cut street noise.
Location and the value for money
The noise, the bed and the check out policies
Hotel in centrale position, at WanChai. Very comfortable position, very easy to go everywhere on feet or MTR. Very good shower, good WiFi. The room is very little, few accessories but at least has a window so it's possible the air circulation. Perhaps I return here at the end of 2015 because in general I like this place and the position is excellent.
Perhaps the room is too tiny.
All of the above
The noise. At least the room in the second floor. It's almost impossible to fall asleep with all the street noise.
The hotel is conveniently located near the MTR, tram lines, restaurants and local stores.
It is a bit pricey for the size of the room.
Bed too small All the lights in the room turn on automatically and a record sounds half an hour before the check out time, very annoying
No lift on other wing. The access is bad for travelers with handicap and heavy luggage
Location was great. Lots of shops and food around, markets round the corner. Wan chai is an interesting area. Bathroom was comfortably-sized with good water pressure and a working water heater.
When I got there, I realized that there was no elevator that takes me to my floor. The elevators seemed to only be for Mingle by the Star, which was a building attached to Mingle by the Park via the business centre. This is no fun with two big bags! Staff did not offer help though they saw I was having trouble with my luggage. On the morning I checked out, I rang the front office for help with my bags. They sent up a woman of about sixty years old, who claimed there was no one else to help. She dragged one bag down the stairs and shouted that I had to take care of my other bag myself as she wasn't coming back up for it. I'd never been so dismayed. My room was minuscule, hardly had space to put my shoes anywhere without tripping over them. I had to leave my bags out in the balcony. Everything was a bit of a tight squeeze.
Close to subway, close to dining, close to a variety of stores
Blinds in room were appreciable damage, area is a bit seedy
I like the location cos it is in the heartlands sort of. It's near the station as well.
Didn't like that there isn't a lift to my room.
Too many to mention
700 HKD for 8m2 room; what a joke! only way to get proper room as to add up 500HKD and upgrade i will never be back! Staff was not friendly neither; phone did not work at first... could not clothes curtains...well, i can find anything good.
close to mtr
bathroom sink, was a joke. I could not even put my hands together to wash it was so small. Room extremely small. do not like going to into other building with no lift to get access to my room. .
* Open 24/7 including reception. * Location - helped in my reason being there. * Morning receptionist was cheery and very helpful.
* Bed too lumpy * TV only 10 channels - most was in Chinese, I'm a UK citizen so not much selection? * Could'nt get a late check out without paying more.
The wifi was speedy and reliable. Staff were friendly.
Only one electrical socket in the room, and not conveniently placed for phone or laptop chargers. Poor soundproofing meant staff stationed outside door of room late at night, coughing and talking on radio, not helpful when trying to sleep.
The room is facing the street and is in front of a bus station. It is a very busy one with regular buses... like every minute. Windows are of very poor quality (they do not even close properly), so all the street noises are yours! I just had a very bad sleep. Will not go again!
A trip back to the early days of Hong Kong and great black & white photos of old Wan Chai. Rooms thoughtfully decorated in the old colonial style. Clean and decent rooms. Rooms had the facilities you need. Convenient location.
The room I stayed in was on the small side of average and some noise in the mornings from the street side in the mornings. I thought the cost was a bit high for what you get.
