The location. No mtr subway stop nearby. You have to walk to get to the main drag and catch a bus or a taxi. Breakfast is horribly expensive for what it is. You have to pay for wifi (I know, it is quite amazing...). Finally upon realizing that I intended to pay with a debit card they made a fuss about the fact that they wanted me to pay with a credit card (I know, once again it is amazing). Maybe they thought they would get better protection with a cc, in that case they haven't heard of maxed cards. Anyway, they demanded I pay my 2 nights in advance because I had a debit card (don't ask)...

It's location is excellent considering it is in the Kowloon City area. The bus stops are so close to the hotel you can simply hop in one and go pretty much anywhere (I.E. Ocean Park, Hong Kong- Macau Ferry Terminal, Mong Kok). The hotel itself is pretty standard but decent enough. The neighborhood around the hotel is very sketchy. Too noisy and there's far too many people hanging out at the hotel entrance. No swimming pool whatsoever. The reception staff are either not well-versed in the English language or are just simply cold. The hotel lobby is very small and the outside view from the lobby is ugly.

Only concierge service was pretty good. Reception people were very rude including management. I was willing to pay deposit by cash. Receptionist charged 1000 hk as a deposit from credit card without asking even that the full payment was charged on arrival. When I was checking out they made a photocopy from the credit card I used ( front only) which they were not allowed at all. Be careful everybody before handing them a credit card.

Front Office Staff was "horrible & ARROGANT",asked for 150% Advance before check in ( which is against booking.com policy) advance was compeled to pay 100% as, had to push a lot to get the service level( Internet was suppose to be free) but still refused to give, Shuttle in a was suppose to be complimentary( which is not true, u hv to book & pay in advance) Front office is horrible & annoying.housekeeping staff were good.front office staff should be sacked or replaced with Right staff.

Good hotel and good price for HK mainly because not near to main attractions. But can get local bus outside hotel for HK$4.7 to Kowloon Tong subway--bus takes about 15mins and very frequent. Area more authentic and typical small chinese shops. at Kowlon Tong there is abig new shopping mall. From nearest subway by tai to Hotel costa about $HK 25-30. Modern and classic rooms, decor has been updtaed -smaller rooms have nice fittings and fine for short stay. Internet charges but same for many hotels.

Location - it was close to eateries and relatively close to major bus routes. The rooms are in need of some sprucing up, as the furnishings were straight out of the 80's. Staff are also not fluent in English, which may cause some problems when requesting for assistance.

The staff was very polite and professional. Their use of English was a big help for me because I do not speak Chinese. The room was comparable to rooms in the U.S. I would return to the Regal Oriental Hotel if I come back to Hong Kong. The building was older. The room had areas that were repaired in an amateur way with inferior products. The bed was firmer than I am used to but not too hard.
