Loved the location! Close to everything on Kowloon side, a minute or so away from the mrt and very central. You are literally minutes away from the Star Ferry and in fact you can see the harbour or partial views depending on your room. The rooms were spacious, clean and functional with tea & coffee facilities & a hairdryer. Breakfast had a good range of food and fruit. I stayed in the double (by myself) and a family room (with friends) in the same trip & the rooms were a good size and very comfortable. The shuttle bus from the airport to the ymca costs $130 Hong Kong dollars and is a good, fuss free option, if you don't mind a detour or two until the drivers get to the ymca. Reception staff are helpful and friendly & you can check-in for flights at the internet terminals and print your boarding passes for a small fee paid at reception.

One of the best hotel I had ever stayed. The harbour view room is really amazing with laser show nightly. The fruits is appreciated & a good welcome gift. Room is clean and comfortable. Location is great & the breakfast is good. Hotel near to everything you need - mtr, Ferry, Shopping Mall, Avenue of Star, Big Bus Tour Stop & food is within easy reach. Go for Harbour View Suite if possible, you will never regret. We are lucky to be upgraded to Suite. Check in & check out this excellent. Queuing for morning breakfast. Can be long after 8.30 A.M.. Go early to avoid the long line. Before 8.00 A.M. is the best timing.

Stayed in a Harbour view room which gave excellent views over Victoria Harbour to Hong Kong Island (viewed Symphony of Lights display from the room). Great dining especially full breakfast and ground floor restaurant with inexpensive meals.

Location , location , location are the 3 best things about the hotel. We got a harbour view room and given the location it was amazing. We watched the symphony of lights from our room the very first day. The Art museum, Space museum , Science museum, Star Ferry are all walking distance. Quite a few 24/7 stores close by that added to the convenience. We had the breakfast included in the rate, the spread was decent . The elevator to the Tsim Tsha Tsui metro was across the road .... all in all a great place to stay Bathroom was way too small and a little claustrophobic may be

We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Salisbury. We had booked a harbourview room after reading other reviews and it was definately worth it. Overall we found the hotel excellent value, the breakfast buffet is top notch and all the staff very helpful. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a decent place to stay in HK. The location is just brilliant. We spent 7 nights there and then moved to stay in another hotel further back off Nathan Road for 4 nights with our other family members, which cost more and by comparision that hotel was not a patch on YMCA Salisbury

I loved the whole package there! The position in Kowloon is amazing, could not be better, 2 minutes from the metro and less than five minutes from the Star Ferry or the Avenue of Stars. The price was very reasonable too for the standard of the hotel. Staff were great, very helpful and the hotel was so lovely. Our room was beautiful, they gave us an upgrade as the room had not been ready when we turned up even though we were still given an early check in. I would definatly recommend this hotel and would want to stay there again on any future trips. When we said we were leaving early the next morning and would not have breakfast they made up breakfast boxes for us to take to the airport.

The Salisbury is great. This was the fourth time I have stayed there me and for the mponey you just cannot go pas it. I think that because it is part of the Y.M.C.A. it doese not seek to attract guests with a gimmick of any sort other than beigng good quality at an affordable price. Civenb the price there is nothing not to like about the y Salisbury

The design and fabric is a little tired, but this makes for a very comfortable experience in the same way that your favourite old pair of shoes do. Coupled with the excellent service the hotel is a reflection on Hong Kong as a whole and a great place to stay if you don't want 5 star glitz. I think it's called the Hong Kong Culture Centre that partially mars the view of the harbour. One can only assume that the designer of this place had read a book on architecture at some stage in his career, but it's far form obvious.

Really enjoyed our stay at "The Salisbury". Great location, close to harbour, ferries, shops and restaurants and very easy to get to and from the airport with train and then hotel shuttle. Bed very comfortable. Room spacious. Enjoyed having fresh fruit in bedroom. Excellent all round. Great breakfast. The air conditioning was a bit too cool but otherwise I couldn't fault this accommodation.

The location is as good as it gets. I have stayed in the Tsim Sha Tsui area many times, but this is my first time at the Salisbury in its' present modern appearance. Nice large rooms...had a beautiful view of Hong Kong Harbor, the breakfast buffet is included with room, good choices in a pleasant dining area. People have to understand that this is a hotel and not a dorm. The staff very friendly and efficient. Would not hesitate to stay here again. The mtr is steps away...and plenty of restaurants and shopping to please anyone. By the way, our partial view of the harbor was upgraded to a full view of the harbor. Even if I was picky, I could not fault this facility in any way.

Staying at the Salisbury YMCA of HK is like staying at The Peninsula, but at a fourth of the price. The location, the view, accessibility to transportation and popular tourist points are all identical. (The YMCA probably won't chauffeur you around in a Rolls-Royce, and the lobby decor is a little less opulent than The Peninsula - though still stylish and contemporary). As a matter of fact, I probably had a better view of the fame HK harbor out of my 13th floor window than from The Peninsula. The staff at check-in are unfailingly professional (with excellent IT support) and friendly, while the service staff are all nice and discreet. The entire hotel is squeaky clean. I like the bathroom in particular - it's clean, well-lit, well-ventilated, and well-supplied, The shower has excellent water pressure (both hot and cold). The towels are also fairly plush and soft. To top it off, there is a complementary bowl of fresh fruit in the room. The Salisbury YMCA is definitely one of the best values in the city of HK. I wish the Salisbury YMCA would include free WiFi and/or broadband access from the rooms. Compared with the several hotels in Taiwan, where I was prior to arriving in HK, the Salisbury YMCA can definitely afford to offer this as a freebie. (In terms of US dollar, the hotel room rates in Taipei is about half of that in HK.)

An excellent hotel with great staff, a magnificent location, and wonderful food. The view of Hong Kong from the 4th floor restaurant is incredible! I have stayed at the Salisbury many times over the years. I've never ever been disappointed once. I look forward to returning! I highly recommend the Salisbury! PS. On a number of occasions they have upgraded my room.

It is strategicly located in the busiest area of Tsim Tsa Tsui. They upgraded my room from partial harbour veiw to full harbour veiw room. I could watch the 8pm Symphony of Light with an excellent view. The room is spacious. I had breakfast in level 4 Dinning Room. They have variety of choices and the waitre and wiatress were very friendly and had provided good service. I would like to come back again.

The beds for a Hong Kong Hotel were very comfortable. I have stayed in many hotels over the years and it is hard to find a hotel which has comfortablet beds. Most a are like sleeping on a slab. This hotel was the exsception. Location is also a plus for MTR and Ferry. The bed was great, and my request was met by placsing me away from the main roads by the check-in staff.
