The Salisbury - YMCA of Hong Kong  

Loved the location! Close to everything on Kowloon side, a minute or so away from the mrt and very central. You are literally minutes away from the Star Ferry and in fact you can see the harbour or partial views depending on your room. The rooms were spacious, clean and functional with tea & coffee facilities & a hairdryer. Breakfast had a good range of food and fruit. I stayed in the double (by myself) and a family room (with friends) in the same trip & the rooms were a good size and very comfortable. The shuttle bus from the airport to the ymca costs $130 Hong Kong dollars and is a good, fuss free option, if you don't mind a detour or two until the drivers get to the ymca. Reception staff are helpful and friendly & you can check-in for flights at the internet terminals and print your boarding passes for a small fee paid at reception.

Check in was smooth since we have emailed them in advance to make sure our reservation made through online booking site was received. We took airport express from the airport to Kowloon Station and from the station there’s a free shuttle bus that took us to the hotel. The bus stopped at the Peninsula/Kowloon Hotel/Salisbury bus stop and from there we just need to cross the street, the Salisbury ymca is located right next to the bus stop. The harbour view room is pretty standard ana adequate with all basic amenities. The view, however, was spectacular. The harbour view was definitely worth an extra costs since the view is ‘to die for.’ Even at day time, there’s always priceless view to be seen; we can watch a bunch of ships ranging from speedboats, sail boats, and cruise ships passing bythe clear blue water along the harbour. And at night, for sure, the view has turned into something more spectacular, with colorful lights shining each buildings along side the Kowloon as well as Hong Kong side of the island. You can see the one of a kind light show from your harbour view room everyday at 8 pm. Considering its perfect the location (within minutes from major shopping and cultural centers) as well as its exclusive position (right next to ‘The Peninsula Hotel’ and ‘Sherato Hotel’), the Salisbury is definitely quite a bargain. Just make sure to reserve the room well ahead of time since this hotel is very popular.

After renovation the lobby now is upgraded to green concept the nature light from the sky to the ground let guests felt in the resort hotel but we were in most convenient area in hk. I do apprecieat Mr. Eric been helping me arranged the room which let my friends and I had wonderful memory in hk. Many thanks! Best Rgds Diana Li Singapore

Maybe can improving the bathroom shower ,is too old style to really clean the body.

Having visited Hong Kong on many occasions,I chose the Salisbury for its location and price range. The rooms were clean,and comfortable,and the views over towards Hong kong central were excellent,especially at night. The harbour views are restricted with the cultural centre building,so the higher you go the better. The lounge area could be bigger,or an alternative sitting area would have been appreciated,as the Podium Garden shuts at 9pm,which is rather early for someone who may want to have a relaxing few hours before retiring. The coffe Shop gave good value and the buffet breakfast was fine. The reception staff were very efficient as were the consierge.especially with the nice touch of weighing scales to check your luggage weight allowance. On leaving the airport Shuttle bus(Free),stops at the back of the hotel ,and is 10 mins away from the fast airport train station which does away with all the worries of Taxi rides and expensive fares. All in all good value for money and recommendable. The location is perfect for Nathan Rd,Star Ferry and Airport connections,book early as the Harbour view room do go very quickly.

The Podium outside space to be made available till 10-30 as per coffe shop/restaurant.. Total lack of a proper lounge area,where residents can relax and meet each other,as the reception is purely a waiting area for transit customers either arriving or leaving.

It is near Harbor, subway and shoppings.

The wifi should be free. The wifi connection is slow.

Our second stay at the Salisbury YMCA, we were lucky to be upgraded to a Harbour View Suite. The room was fantastic and huge- two rooms in fact- with floor to ceiling windows facing directly onto the harbour. The light show from the room was amazing also. The hotel is in the perfect location for getting to HK island using Star Ferries. The MRT is just outside the door for all other travel. There are shops and malls outside the door and restaurants everywhere. Easy to get to from the airport using the Airport express train and free shuttle bus. All of this at a fantastic price. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Hong Kong!

There was a strange entry in the calculation of the amount of the room-was filmed in full and then again locked. the hotel staff was assured us that at the time of issue amount will return to the account (which did not happen). the card is blocked, on the map due to incorrect lifting Hotel means minus bank charges me fine

I suggest that ymca salisbury can provide the halal food for the guest so that muslim guest will feel a lot more comfortable even though the are varity of halal food near the location of the hotel but sometimes guest are tired to find for food after whole day travelling and for that reason, food order to room is the best option. Other than that, it was just a perfect vacation for my family.

The room was comfortable and clean with a great view. The ymca has the best position for shopping and visiting city and new territory places. It is very good value for money having an excellent breakfast included in the tariff. The staff were all very friendly and efficient and it was good to have a choice of eating places. Room service and laundry services were both excellent.

I would have liked a meeting place or bar where I could have spent time with my visitors without eating a full meal.
