customer service and food quality can be improved. renovation is necessary in corridors.
Staff are pretty cold. Lobby too small and crowded. Had to wait really long time to check in and none staff smiled during my whole 4days' stay.
staff are all polite and friendly
View and breakfast.
The swimming pool and the location of the hotel.
The quality and variety of food of the buffet breakfast should be better.
great location, very relaxing, nice pool , access to a beach, beautiful nature around, good seafood restaurants, safe, no mosquitoes.
Beach front hotel is perfect , restaurant is good & reasonable price .
Carpet a bit old , would be perfect if window can open
The sea view.
- No lifet in the building. - No bag server. - not good food.
location is awsome, was facing the beach the view was beautiful. facility is clean.
lobby was way too small, got really crowded when tons of people trying to check in. breakfast was also not that great, by 930am almost everything is gone and didnt refill.
Great location in authentic location. Very relaxing area
Hotel staff very unhelpful.
Good location on the beach and has a great pool. Enjoyed buffet dinner.
Have to take bags up 3 flights of stairs as there is no lift
I have been staying at the Silvermine for more than a decade - sometimes for as long as a month. About 4 years ago the ownership changed and it is now owned by Chinese aiming at the Chinese shopping tour market. Slowly the old friendly Filipino staff are being replaced by Chinese staff whose attitude to clientele is 'mixed' - sometimes through lack of training or language skills I suspect. The new owners are upgrading the rooms and they are much improved - but the price of the hotel has very significantly increased. But then according to a recent South China Morning Post article Hong Kong is now the 5th most expensive place for hotels in the world - after all the SAR is being visited by 40 million Mainland Chinese and occupancy rates are over 90%. Why do I keep going back? - the location is beautiful and familiarity means I have my favourite places and people. Mui Wo has a relaxing ambience - and is but 30 minutes from Central by fast ferry. Plenty of good cheap restaurants on the road to the pier and in the village. Pace of life here is dictated by the bicycle! Nice walks across the hills - you would never think you are in Hong Kong
Well - the price is getting high - but it is Hong Kong!
The Location is unique, in front of the beach the hotel is an outstanding landmark. The view over the south China sea and the surrounding islands is magnificent. Check in is fast and done by friendly staff, rooms are spacious and clean. A buffet for breakfast offers a wide variety of asian and western dishes. Delicious lunch and dinner can be eaten on the spacious terrace overlooking the beachfront, for those who like a good glass of wine there is a rich offer of wines from around the world. Wild cows and water buffaloes can be watched safely from here, making there way to the beach. The outside pool is heated and secured by a lifeguard. Everybody is very helpful, internet services are available as well as cable TV with English speaking programs. I will come back and look forward to it.
All the towels were of VERY poor quality, left lots of fluff on the body and hair - awful!
Good location, close to pier. Good staff. Nice reprieve from HK
Wish we can rent a bike directly. Water buffalo poo everywhere... no mini fridge and bathroom is dingy
They make you pay for an adaptor.
The location is great easy to get to from the ferry nice bars within walking distance
It is a very tired hotel, swimming pool was not working Breakfast is just about OK Rooms dingy ( arge)
The area was very nice being on the ocean, with a beautiful view on the islands around it.
The taxi can only get about a block and a half to the hotel because there is no road. When I left it was in the rain and I have to carry my bags the 1 1/2 block and wait for the taxi I called for. I am 70 and this is to much work to get to a room.
Location on the beach Breakfast was god, thought many food was over before the breakfest ended.
We chooce this hotel because the pool. When we arrived, there was sign on desk that pool openes until first of may. It is very late in HK, and that should have been mentioned in internet. No apologizes, they just say to swim in the sea or in the public pool, which was not the point or same thing whit young toddler. Staff in desk was very rude hole week we stayed there. In the end they blamed us liars because the internet-bill (which they had no proof) and told us to shut up! Internet in room cost 100HK €/day, which was way too much.
Location n peach
Close to the ferry terminal and along the beach.
the bathroom is filthy with black molds all over the place is not what would you like to see for the price I had paid..
Restaurant service is extremely poor. After being seated with menus, we waited 30 minutes for someone to take our order. Several people had told us they would be right back, but never returned. When someone finally did take our order, we were told that the kitchen was not taking food orders anymore. Mind you, people were still being served food, and had someone taken our order in a timely manner, the kitchen would have been able to serve us. Eat at the cooked food center down the street. Much better.
