This is a very quiet area of Hong Kong. The local sea foods are excellent, the view from hotel is good.

Too much tourists visit the Heritage building, so it is quite noisy in the morning.

This is a very quiet area of Hong Kong a little off the beaten tourist route. The local sea foods are excellent, and little food stalls well worth sampling

they have no comfortable seating if arriving early.A 2 or 3 seater settee would be great, Restaurant chairs should having padding available for those requiring it.

Nice environment and view, along the seaside

The staff didn't tell me I can take 2 mins boats to the hotel and it takes me around 30mins walking cross the village alone. Cats and dogs are around and scares me.

Very friendly and helpful staff! Amazing spot at Tai O!

The one and only restaurant is way over-priced for the quality of food!

nice colonial feeling, great view and quiet surroundings. Interesting walk ( 20 mn) through a typical Chinese fishing village before reaching destination (travel light).Comfortable rooms with good linen, large bathroom . Nespresso free coffee.

the stains on the couch in the bedroom, the food quality and wine list are tourist hotel level, staff needs training to adjust to Heritage hotel experience.

Great escape from the busy city life in a heritage hotel. Spacious room with excellent facilities provided.

Building tours meaning constant disturbs from outsiders, especially curtain next to the desk cannot be closed properly jeopardizing privacy of the guests.

The restaurant is european. It would be have been better to have been more "traditional" local.

isolated, quiet location, only accessible by boat during the daytime or 20 minutes' walk by foot, no cars no taxis. nicely furnished rooms. staff very helpful and friendly. Welcome contrast to the bustling atmosphere of Hong Kong.

    Restaurant is not really recommended.

Nice location in a reconverted police station at the end of the harbour. Spacious room with comfy beds and crispy lining + Nespresso machine.

The restaurant was relatively poor, breakfast fair.

The comfortable beds and the view when the weather is good.

Extremely difficult access with heavy suitcases (we had been travelling all over Asia) if not prepared to walk 25 minutes along a track in pouring rain. It was 4:30pm and the regular boat was not running. The staff were surprised that we were not prepared to walk and were very reluctant to make alternative arrangements to get us there. It required several phone-calls to get them to react and arrange another boat. This is not in keeping with a prestige hotel! There was also no central heating operating so when we eventually arrived the staff had to find us a small heater to dry our clothes. This hotel has been open over a year so there was no excuse for such poor service. We have never been treated so badly in many years of travelling all over the world!!! So be warned.

very quiet location after all the day tourists were good. The sunset at the waterfront was spectacular.

The male staff were friendly and helpful, but not the female staff with Chinese accent. One at the restaurant and one at the reception. They have no basic courtesy to their customers at all. The management should either fire them or train them again before posting them in such an high-end hotel!

Love the old colonial style of an exclusive 9-room Hotel, converted from the old Tai o Police Station. Its slightly away from Tai o Village (20 minutes' walk or a 2-minute speedboat ride) location, right by the sea, means that we get to stay away from the overly crowded hustle and bustle of the Village. Especially lovely during the lovely sunset time where the horde of the tourists has left. Early morning walk was very nice, with virtually no tourist. Very relaxing. Hotel staff were friendly. Restaurant is nice. We ordered the Set Dinner Menu and the Fish and Chips and thought they were not bad not all.

We missed the free tour of the Hotel as all tours must be booked online at least 24 hours ahead. Thought they should give all guests (considering there are only 9 rooms) an option for a free tour of the Hotel (plus other tours) after checking in. Restaurant staff too mechanical and not particularly friendly, especially considering the impactness of the Hotel. Think the Hotel should make an effort to clean up the beach down by the Hotel, as currently it's littered with debris. The key to our room is very difficult to open. It took a few minutes even for the Hotel handyman to open it.
