The innkeeper Richard made sure our stay was comfortable! Quiet and really good food.
First of all, what caught my attention is that they have a big announcement at the entry saying: forbidden to bring food inside. Oh well....guess why? this place is in the middle of nowhere. you ought to eat there (unless you have a car) and the prices are between 10 dollar going up to 30 american dollars whatever you eat. a glass of bottled juice is 4 dollars. In a country where you can eat anywhere for 4 dollars. So, be aware of this. It's half in construction. You get free transportation to the hotel, but you'll have to pay the taxi back 15 dollars (to the bus terminal or the ferry). Even if I asked the owner before I came if the internet was running well, and he confirmed, the internet was terrible. I gave a n online conference and the internet dropped 3 times.
if you like to be isolated and close to the beach, then this is the place to be. however, you have downtown hotels that are straight on the beach.
Great place if you don't like city craziness, home like environment, excellent beach front.
Further from the airport than I'd realised, which adds a lot to the cost. Friendly English-speaking taxi driver, though.
Richard and his staff could not be kinder. Ten out of ten! Beautiful location, won't suit people looking for a USA five star experience or city nightlife... This is rustic and chilled out... And the seafood soup is a must!!
The owner was very welcoming, he helped me a lot with my travel plan. As a young lady travelling alone, I felt very safe and comfortable. The place is lovely, and so the staff is ! I heartily recommend.
Richard was an excellent host. The food was fantastic, everything was neat and tidy. The staff was efficient and friendly.
Richard and the staff were absolutely great. Location is fantastic being right on the beach and outside of town as it made for a quiet and relaxing place to be. Food was also great and they are willing to make you anything if they have the ingredients.
Richard and his staff made our visit so nice. Really loves just hanging out at the bar and relaxing in the hammocks.
Although we loved la delphina, we had one minor dislike, you have to pay for your drinking water! Even the cheapest hostel going in Central America will give you drinking water for free! But this is a problem that can be easily solved and it wouldn't stop us returning!
We stayed at la delphina as part of a trip all over Central America and it was paradise! Richard was more than helpful and a great host, and the hotel is literally on the beach with sunsets every evening over the sea! The room was the nicest we stayed in, clean, comfortable and spacious! We would defiantly stay here again!
I didn't like having to leave!
The owner and staff could not be faulted, they were welcoming, friendly and made my feel at home. The food was excellent. It was immaculately clean and my room and bed were very comfortable. Lovely little touches, such as fresh flowers and water when i arrived. It is located on the beach, with a pool and bar and i had everything i needed. Nothing was too much trouble, the owner and staff went out of their way to make you feel relaxed and comfortable. The surrounding scenery was stunning. Trips were brilliant and well organised and worth the money. The hotel is beautifully presented, and had a lovely laid back feel.
Unable to utilize my local phone Prices, including the fee to utilize the hotel's taxi which was $15 USD!
I liked; Close proximity to the beach Cleanliness Service
Beware, a hotel up the beach rents out quads which speed up and down and can be noisy. It is some way from the town.
Whilst my wife did not really enjoy our stay as it was all a bit too basic I thought that it was fine and good value for money. Has a sort of New Orleans feel about the place. The manager is very helpful and will try and make your stay pleasant. Good value for money.
The hotel is isolated from the nearest town or city - there are only a few other hotels nearby but not shops. Bear this in mind and bring what you need with you or budget for taxis to La Ceiba ($15-20 each way)
The hotel is extremely clean, very comfortable and the staff are friendly. Proximity to the beach can't be beaten!
La delphina is a quite place down on the beach and Richard and his staff make you feel like you are home and comfortable.
We've never met a host as gracious and fun as Richard. Next time we'll stay there longer.
The hotel is a half our drive out of the city centre. This means that you have to eat at the hotel or take an expensive taxi. In our opinion the price of the room is a bit too high and the quality of the food is mediocre.
The beds are excellent and it has perfect hot showers.
Far away from the city.
We came from Cayman and having been spoiled by the pristine beaches and clear blue seas, the sea was a bit sandy and beaches are not yet ready for a full tourist season.
Richard spoke English and made sure that as two women travelling alone, we felt safe. He negotiated with tour operators and we felt as though he was looking after our best interests at all times. He arranged transfers to and from the airport and also offered to drive us anywhere we needed to go. Kelly looked after our every need and made sure that we had everything we required with regard to food, drink, rooms etc. the final bill was very reasonable, great value for money. The rooms were basic but spacious and comfortable with flat screen TVs and free wifi in most areas. There was a small amount of construction BUT no heavy machinery in fact I only saw hand tools being used and it was definitely not intrusive. We would definitely return.
Very friendly owner who picked us up at the bus and also dropped us off. Nice beach-front location; very relaxing.
