We liked the location in relation to the beach and the security aspect of the hotel. The complimentary breakfast exceeded our expectations and had great quality. The bar had great piña coladas and the food at the Cayuco bar was a great option for those without all-inclusive. In spite that they only offer shuttle service for the airpot they picked us up at the where the ferry arrives.
We didn't like the small a/c that made the room barely cool and bedding should be added. We felt that breakfast could be extended an hour (It goes from 7 to 9am).
Everything. The food was very good. Very clean hotel. The pools very nice and clean.
Location breakfast buffet and roof top pool!
Wifi was weak
Everything was good, especially if you like to snorkel, the reef is just there, about 100 yards into the sea, mostly shallow waters, don't need to go anywhere else, there's plenty to see out there, we we're there for 3 days and we didn't see it all. We want to go back.
Hotel elevator didn't work but with all that eating it was ok to exercise up and down.
In front of west bay beautiful beach in Roatan
Poor wifi connection
Excellent location, on the beach. The hotel has a new tower called Paradise oceanic, with basic rooms. Our room was a king size bed, 2 dressers and a desk/mini fridge combo, with 2 bottles of water, wall unit air conditioning and ceiling fan. Closet with safe. Bathroom has limited vanity space with sink, toilet and skinny stand-up shower. The decor is Island style but very simple. Our room was on the first floor and our balcony had 2 patio chairs and a table, it led to a pathway of vegetation. The building has 5 floors, with a roof top mini sitting pool, and incredible sunset view. Floor 2 has a water cooler where you can refill your bottled water. (we gotta reuse and recycle if we want to continue to enjoy the planet) The hotel has a restaurant bar shared by both the Paradise oceanic and the Paradise beach hotels called the Cayuco. The prices range from $7-$27 They serve simple dishes of Island seafood like fried fish, ceviche, salads, and conch soup. They also serve American style burgers and fries and a massive assortment of pizzas, which are very good, we had the Margherita and the veggie pizzas. If you get the bed and breakfast plan, breakfast is served everyday from 6-9am at a buffet style dining room next to the mini and over priced gift shop. Breakfast is an assortment of local pastries, fruits and yogurts, hot items like sausages, potatoes, scrambled eggs, beans, pancakes, French Toast, and an omelette station with assorted ingredients, water downed juices, coffee, tea, milk and 2 types of cereals coco puffs and fruit loops. (which looked old, since it's an all adult facility, no one was eating kid cereal). Bring bug spray, or you'll regret it, the mini gift shop sells it for $15 US dollars, the mini market around the corner at walking distance sells it for $7. Even though you're in Honduras, Roatan is pretty much an English speaking Island.
Since the hotel is on the beach you'll encounter many sales people offering souvenir knick knacks, massages on the sand (ouch), Cuban cigars (all fakes), hair braids, music from a drunk guitarist, tours to see dolphins, (very sad they're all trapped in captivity), canopy tours, and the silly water banana. They can be very persistent and bothersome. But just be polite and say no thank you. Bring bug spray! The Internet is sketchy but free.
They would always go the extra mile to please you, whatever we asked for they would get for us. Really recommend it.
I love the attention , very clean, good food, really close to the beach.
The breakfast could be better
Beach bar was nice. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was terrible
Excellent location, 50 meters from beach / dock new, well appointed rooms, good a/c fourth floor good view from terrace very good breakfast very friendly staff
infamous elevator with anticuated door system
all the staff at the hotel and the cayuco beach bar were so friendly and helpful, you couldn`t ask for a better group of people. whether it be information , organizing trips , personal needs, they were always there for you.
one week was not enough
The staff was very helpful and attentive.
The elevators seemed to break down on a daily basis. It made hauling luggage difficult. I also noticed that the staff was not allowed to use the elevators when they were working.
Great location, right to the beach!
Nothing It was perfect
We were very surprised by our stay at the Paradise Oceanic Hotel! Our expectations were low for some reason when we booked the hotel, however when we arrived we were over the moon. I don't know if there is a better place to stay for the money on West Bay Beach. Our room (and in fact all the rooms) were recently renovated, the finishings are all nice, the room is quite spacious, the furniture is lovely, the balcony is perfect. Honestly, we couldn't have been happier. Add to the fact that you are literally steps to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world!!!! We loved the whole grounds, we didn't use the pool so we can't speak to that (why use the pool when the ocean is right there!). The breakfast is typical and ok, nothing super special but definitely enough to start off your day (eggs, baked goods, tea, coffee, fruit). The staff is AMAZING! We thought they were super friendly and helpful. The location CANNOT be beat! It's located right next to a really small strip mall that has everything you need (a great coffee shop, market etc.). We ate most of our meals at the beach bar because we were too lazy to leave our beach chairs. The food is good, burgers, shrimp, calamari, pizza, etc.. We did not stay all inclusive so we can't speak to that option. Honestly, it's a really great place and I don't think you'll be disappointed. We've already recommended it to our friends and family. It's definitely not a 5* resort, but you aren't paying 5* prices either. It's great value for your money!
Can't beat the location right on the best beach of the island, water taxi right in front of the hotel, restaurant on the beach. Loved the lit gardens at night and the meandering trails to the villa's. Very accommodating staff members. Great daily maid service. Very nice continental plus breakfast each morning with traditional Honduras favorites.
Internet service was spotty, but that may be the whole island.
Roof top bar has great view. Good security. Good breakfast. Good parking. Didn't use beach facilities but looked good like other hotels in West Bay.
Had to check in at Oceanic Hotel. Asked for late check out (1PM). When we checked out different staff member very upset we had not checked out at noon. Hotel charged my credit card at time of booking and at check in. Had to file a dispute with cc. Elevator tricky to operate (but it did have an elevator)
Great location and kind people and now the wifi is free. You just need to go to the lobby and they will give you a User Id & password. Advice: Go eat at every restaurant at the beach.
The location was great.
Breakfast wasn't good, coffee was horrible (seems like they didn't clean the container for days, because coffee was gray color) . Didn't arrange for pick up from airport even though it was confirmed.
We liked the pool on the roof, the guy who brings our food to the roof pool. the bed and pillows were comfortable, They helped us find a nice young lady named Brittney who was kind enough to walk all the stairs up to meet us and talk about the activities they were offering, being poor and with not a big budget we only did snorkeling for only $30 each which included a boat ride and snorkeling for an hour and 20 minutes. The pizza was out of this world. The buffalo wings were to die for, we actually had them twice, once while watching the sunset in very comfortable chairs, you can also walk along the beach to different restaurants they have. The staff was always greeting with a smile and although some of them didnt speak english most of them did. The room was clean, and we thought the A/C was confusing at first but you need to insert the card on the back of your door. The bathroom is small but clean,. Remember to not throw away your water bottle you can always refill it and its filled in when you arrive, which is awesome. Dont loose your beach towel, is $25 lol!!! we didnt. The pina coladas were very tasty!!!! and prices for the food wont break your bank, definitely worth what we invested, wanted to stay longer and definitely coming back. We had a free shuttle from the port to the hotel and our way back when we were leaving, that saved us about $40, it was sooo nice from them. Love love love this place!!! -Kristy
Messed up shower, the spray was weird, not a big deal.
This is a lovely hotel/resort for the price! Very clean, polite staff, right by the ocean! I would recommend it to anyone...
The location was great - right in the middle of West Bay, easy walk to a number of excursion meeting points. Also, I found the front desk to be especially friendly and helpful.
Mixed attitude with some of the restaurant and bar staff. I preferred the live music next door at Bananarama far over the thump-thump-thump music at the bar, which spilled out into the beach chair area where I was trying to relax. Internet access was promoted in the bar, but only worked half the time. Some staff members knew nothing of the network ID and password, so I had to hunt down someone who did.
The rooms are nice, however will soon start looking a bit wasted especially the bathrooms.
The staff seem not properly trained and there exists a kind of unhappy feeling among the staff. You get the impression that management has set a lot of rules but not capable in creating a nice atmosphere. The bar on the roof top is great however not fully being utilized as the service is non existent , what a pity and a waste. The feeling of things you can NOT do or get is overruling the nice things you can do . These details a solo traveler notice easier than people in a group. In the brochure you get upon arrival "Its a privilege to have you as a guest and pamper you as you deserve...As this is a hotel filled with groups on an "all included "basis / it seems that the pampering is reserved to the tour operators and their staff. The beach set up / the hairs are placed with 5 cm between each other ... let the guests place the chairs so close if they want to however wait until it is really needed to fill out the very limited beach space with chairs. The buffets try to consider how to present the food and make it logic so it is easy to get to. The space for the breakfast buffet is not well organized. The space is very limited . One find oneself fumbling with the spoons while you have to find out to open the chafer ( where the hot food is) and the entire row does the same thing. The coffee is some days tucked away ( instead of having the coffee and tea section easily accessible) so you have to go into the cue, the honey is opposite where people need it and so on it just seems messy and un organized. If this was a 40 USD hotel I would have been very happy with it all however it is a 100 USD so some improvements would fit the price better.
