Great location right in the heart of old town. Clean tidy good size with a balcony.

No disabled access (loads of stairs in old town generally)

    Good, comfortable apartment

Felt a bit strange walking in, as I felt like we were interrupting a family's home, even though they were very nice. It's in a part of the Old Town that's up a lot of stairs, which is tough for toting luggage to and from the apartment.

Staff were helpful and accommodating. AC is great in the summer there, and the apartment was clean and spacious enough. Just be sure to communicate arrival time ahead of time so that they know to meet you with the keys.

Wifi didn't work but this seems fairly common in our month in that area.

Great location in the old town. Beautiful apartment. Air con in rooms. Lovely terrace to sit out on and enjoy food and drinks. Well equipped. Looked after out baggage the next day until 4. Would highly recommend to couples, friends or family. Good value for dubrovnik.

This place was amazing! Alberto was just incredible, greeting us at the bus stop and guiding us to the apartment, then showing us around to orient us to his city. He is a great guy and was fun to be with. The place is wonderful as well-- full kitchen, comfortable and well-appointed and GREAT balcony overlooking the city. A true gem.

Nothing. This place and Alberto were absolutely perfect.

Great location, view from the veranda, owner Alberto and wife that let us store baggage until the late night ferry

Sketchy wifi (if that is important to you), second bedroom short beds for tall people

We stayed at the Alberto Apartments in early October and were the last guests of the season. The original house has been split into three – a smaller house for Alberto’s mother, a small apartment on the first floor entered through a common doorway to an external courtyard and then some steps, and a much bigger apartment entered by the original front door, with bedroom and bathroom on the first floor and lounge (converts to extra beds)/dining room/kitchen/balcony on the top floor. We had booked the smaller apartment, which we were in for one night, but Alberto explained his mother was having some work done that week, so he then moved us to the vacant larger apartment at no extra cost. The smaller apartment has a windowless bedroom big enough for the comfortable king size bed and room to walk down each side, with a wardrobe at one end, a non-functioning TV, and the air conditioning unit, which seemed effective enough, if a little noisy. There are two steps down to the next level – one quite deep – where there is a small bathroom off to the left equipped with a shower with no door, a sink and a toilet, and just room for one person, and a kitchen to the right with a hob, sink, fridge, a table and two chairs, leading to a small balcony and the steps down to ground level. There was plenty of hot water from the boiler for the bathroom and kitchen. We could get the free Wi-Fi signal only in the bedroom. It would have been enough for two of us for a week, but we were pleased to be moved to the larger apartment. Curiously there only seemed to be one kettle between the two apartments. The larger apartment has a good size bedroom with shutters on the windows and good, if again a bit noisy, air conditioning. The bathroom was a good size, again with plenty of hot water, but that is not available in the kitchen. The shower had a door, which was somewhat temperamental.

The main problems with the larger apartment were the stairs to the top floor, which were a bit steep and narrow, but worst of all, some of them sloped downwards, making descent especially a bit risky, and the kitchen whose sloping roof made it impossible for a tall person to stand anywhere other than in the first couple of feet, and nowhere near the cooker! However, we were told this floor is going to be completely revamped, so hopefully these problems won’t exist by 2014.

Perfect location, although it pays to have a good map or directions to find it the first time. It was a lovely refuge from the more touristy parts of Dubrovnik, but only 5 minutes walk to the action.

The apartment was a cool hideaway on a hot afternoon. Ivana was very friendly and recommended some great places to eat. We only stayed one night but the bed we had was very comfy. It's a cute little piece of Old town Dubrovnik, lovely view, lovely hosts and the sounds of music floating around all day.

The studio apartment is tiny, not terrible but just don't expect a large bathroom area. The place was also a little difficult to locate, some signage would help. The furnishings could do with an update.

Convenient location in the old town. Apartment was comfy enough. Nice and roomy over two levels plenty of space.

No kettle, could only boil water in saucepans. Balcony was very nice but over looked a music school which is good if you like scales and instruments being tuned all day til late. Made staying out there not great.

The apartment was tucked away and very private, especially the vine covered terrace. It was also very quiet, apart from the sound of students at the nearby music school practising piano & singing (which was nice to hear). The owner gave us a very friendly greeting.

Pay attention! The apartment is located in Old Town - no access with car!! The parking is 500 m away, upstairs and downstairs

The location is perfect. It is in the Old Town and very close to the beach as well. The apartment was spacious and clean and the family who runs it was super friendly.

I have nothing to complain, but I think it is worth mentioning that it is not ideal to go if you have a lot of luggage, as you cannot enter in the Old Town with a car and there are many steps in the way to the apartment.

This was a great place to stay! Alberto's family was so friendly and they shared many things with me. I would definitely stay there again. I also loved the music from the nearby music school. What a lovely place and lovely family!

Alberto and his wife, Ivana, were very friendly and very helpful with great suggestions to enjoy the wonderful city of Dubrovnik. They recommended a great restaurant (which we were offered free coffee after the meal because we stayed at Alberto Apartment), great swimming locations, and a great bar. Highly recommend staying here if you are on a budget but want to stay in the Old City.

I did not like all the steps but that is mostly because I was ignorant to the fact that Dubrovnik is full of stairs and steps so that no matter where I would have stayed or where I would want to go in the Old City I would need to climb a lot of steps.

Staying in the apartment is experiencing history: the building is several hundred years old. The apartment is modern, and the air conditioning units in each bedroom work very well. The apartment is spotless and well appointed. As others have mentioned, the location is superb. It is in the Old Town, close to the city gates - convenient because no cars are allowed in the Old Town and luggage must be rolled / carried through the Old Town. We arranged transfers to and from Dubrovnik through Alberto. His lovely wife Ivana drove us, and Alberto helped us with the bags. Our flight out was early in the morning, and Ivana was kind enough to drive us at 5am. Alberto was always reachable before and during our stay. This apartment is fantastic, and Alberto and Ivana are very helpful.

Although the apartment is modern, the building is historic. Some of the ceilings and door frames are low. Watch your head if you are tall!

Staff is friendly. Spacious room. Free Wifi. Really is the middle of old town, but not noisy since it is located in a very calm alley.

No breakfast is served. Some smoking in the groundfloor didn't allow us to enjoy the terrasse. Up on the hill, I counted 76 steps up to get to the apartment, but this is Dubrovnik.

Matrasses were great: never had such a soft matras in a hotel Location was perfect: in the middle of Dubrovnic, though quiet and with a nice terras Ivana was a great host, helping us out on finding a cheaper parking and showing us some highlights of dubrovnic

Airconditioning was very noisy The apartment was very small With limited moving space And we did not like the smell of the detergent used to wash the sheets: it made us feel sick at first night, second night was better

We liked the location and size. Enjoyed the music from music school next door.

Kitchen could be better equipped, no kettle to make coffee.
