I thought the view from the hotel was excellent in a beautiful location. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. This is a nice location but people should be aware that it is a long way from the old town (about 15-20 minute bus ride) but its worth it for the accommodation.

Bedroom was spacious/clean, staff were helpful/friendly, location peaceful and quite with fabulous sea views and walks around the coastline. Morning buffet breakfast was not very good, choice of food limited and not to a standard I would expect in a hotel of this star rating also doors left open between eating area on outdoor patio and food service area, hence flies were present within the room, seemed to be short staffed as they were constantly hurried in everything they were doing.

Only stayed for 2 nights before our sailing trip, but can highly recommend the hotel with the facilities, location, size of room & bathroom, service & food. We got up graded to the luxury suites & they have exceeded our expectations. Zoe's restaurant is brilliant with a fab view.

Lovely spot on coast and easy to get into Dubrovnik by bus. A good place to escape from the bustle of the town. Good beach, bar and restaurant facilities.

We were made very welcome on our arrival and made to feel special. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The pool area was by the sea with great views. We ate in the restaurant and had good service and delicious food, reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and helpful. All in all our 24 hour stay was very relaxing and enjoyable and we would definitely reccommend this as a place to stay.

Location was good, great local bus service into dubrovnik city, which runs until 2.30am. We got the standard double room, it was clean and bed was comfortable. The beach bar was good, directly up from the sunbathing area and pools. Staff were friendly in the beach bar. The hotel is along side Valamar president hotel and the Argosy hotel. There is also a small shopping centre, with 3 restaurants and cafe bars and souveneir shops. We found this very good, as we did not like to eat in the hotel restaurant. We did not like the hotel restaurant as the dinner menu was very limited and expensive. On one occassion we sat at our table at 9.30pm and we did not get our dinner (which was two salads), until 11pm. We did not find the staff and manager very sympathetic with our wait for dinner. The following day we found out that this had happened to several other couples on different nights. We did not pay for our diner that nite amd that was the last night we ate in the hotel restaurant. We luckily found a brilliant place to eat in the Valamar President hotel, (directly next to ariston). They have a buffet dinner starting at 7pm and an a La Carte restaurant too. The buffet dinner was simply brilliant with a huge selction of food. We thoroughly enjoyed this dinner and came back a few nites. It is recognised as a 5 star hotel, but it definitly is not. I would rate it a very good 3 star or an average 4 star hotel, from experience with hotels in Ireland.

Rooms are spacious, modern and clean, and the hotel is very convenient for the frequent bus service into the city centre. Lovely views out to sea. Breakfast was adequate but fairly basic, and served in a large rather characterless room. On the one day when the hotel was full with families, this was overcrowded, noisy and unpleasant - I shudder to think what it is like in full season. The public areas of the hotel are very limited (as well as being shared with Hotel Neptun) - a modest combined reception/bar area, a small gym and indoor pool, and the dining rooms. Although the bus service is frequent, the location means you can expect to use it a lot out of season when many more local services have closed, and this is expensive using the single bus tickets the hotel sells.

The front of house staff were amazingly helpful and even got my jokes so I think they're awesome. They went ou of their way to help and this made staying there a pleasure. Even though I didn't get to use the pool it looks quite small for so many guests. The breakfast room tables are way too close together which is a little uncomfortable .

Akin to all of my experiences in Croatia, the staff were very friendly and helpful. They all spoke very good English. Hotel Ariston epitomises your high end commercial establishment; it is part of the Importanne Resort (that is the sign to follow if driving) and comprises of three hotels over one site. The room, beach and pool areas are impeccably clean and there are a host of facilities on site. The room was an ok size; the bathroom was large and well fitted. Breakfast was your typical buffet and was, well, passable (apart from the scambled egg. Steer well clear of that). The private beach provides you with free towels and has lovely views out into the Adriatic. Transport into the Old Town is by bus which runs every 10 minutes from a short walk outside the hotel and was very efficient. In short, the hotel was exactly what you would expect it to be, and if you like that kind of thing then you will be very happy there. The fact that our room included the word "luxury" is a bit far-fetched (perhaps the same folk would brand the Democratic Republic of Congo as "exotic"). My definition of "garden" is also very different from the hotel's, the latter being a large area filled with untamed shrubs. The restaurant, Zoe, although commanding great views was over-priced and the hotel's location means that alternatives involve a trip into the Old Town. Personally, I think that the place lacked any real personality and could have been in any city. Perhaps having just come from another hotel with bags of individual charm clouded our judgement. We most certainly will be returning to Dubrovnik; we most certainly won't be returning to any of the Importanne hotels.

More like a very solid 4 star hotel but the prices were much more affordable than in other 5 star hotels in Dubrovnik. The location is a bit away from the old city but the bus connection is good. I was glad to see that since the last year they have cleaned the path from the hotel to the bus stop. The breakfast is good, though the staff should pay more attention to the guests (e.g., sometimes it takes a while to get your coffee). The beach is crowded and it is a bit strange that one has to pay for a bad on the beach (only towels are provided free of charge). Also, a 5 star hotel should have a wireless access in the rooms. Rooms are very quiet and clean. The beds are comfortable.

Hotel Ariston was really good. I enjoyed both inner and outer pools and rocky beach. Gym and massage programmes were also great. Breakfast was excelent. I was really surprized of the speed of bus 6(15minutes of old town). It was always out of hotel waiting for us better than a taxi. In the reception there was someone to help you with plenty of information about cruises and excursions. You could book everything from hotel about 5-10 euro more expensive than town. A little bit expensive but it seemed that everything was expensive in Dubrovnik! Can t find anything negative than that :-)

Excellent location, quietness of the place. Relatively good access to the sea. You do not have to fight for sunbeds. Although there were a lot of people in the hotel during our stay, the beach and pool area was never overcrowded. Helpful hotel staff, excellent air con and wifi connection. Breakfast in a la carte restaurant was quite disapointing.
