Featuring an outdoor swimming pool with sun loungers, Apartments Lara & Luka is set 800 metres from the sea in Borik, a quiet part of Zadar, 3 km from the Old Town.
Score from 119 reviews Wonderful
Very friendly, excellent location and lovely hotel. We had an amazing four days, would recommend it to anyone
Wifi signal poor
non-tourist neighborhood; little store across the street has great pastries
awkward location for town
The pool was mostly empty (although we did stay there a few weeks out of season) but it was nice to have it to yourself! Friendly, helpful staff Nice, clean apartment and facilities - The owner Ines upgraded us to an even nicer apartment with 2 balconies as this room was free during our stay. Very nice of her! A lovely walk along the coast to reach Zadar Old Town, probably took us between 30-40 mins leisurely walk. Might be too far for some people but we enjoy walking and it was nice & scenic. There is a regular bus you could jump on instead if you preferred. Shop and restaurant right across the road from the apartments, very convenient
There seemed to be some construction work going on at neighbouring houses during our stay so were often woken up early with the sounds of drilling, hammering etc from outside - but I'm sure this is a temporary thing.
Charming spot! Great location to relax but still very accessible to the old town. Really enjoyed our stay.
Lovely, quiet room with balcony & sea view Pretty, shady pool area and very clean pool Friendly, welcoming staff & given a bottle of wine and fruit Very clean and comfy Highly recommend
Longish walk to Zadar old town in the heat- but bus was quick and cheap Not quite enough loungers by the pool
Lovely place to stay with such friendly, helpful and welcoming staff- good loacation and easy to get around- could not reccommend this place enough
Staff was extremely friendly. The pool was great.
Excellent and friendly helpful staff. Great pool.
The room was fine and kept very clean. The balcony was a nice addition although sutting out meant you got bitten by mosqitos
The shower was dreadful it was almost impossible to shower without completely soaking the bathroom. The sheets were changed and were scratchy .The place was generally untidy
The pictures in booking doesn't represent the rooms. The pictures belong to a main room, but the rooms you stay are older, dirtier, smelling very very bad. My summary: I wanted to vomit (it's true, I was about to vomit, because of the horrible smell)
This was a beautiful space, with a great pool and wonderful art made by Ines herself. The room looked exactly as pictured, and the woman at the check-in was very helpful. Zadar is gorgeous, and this place was a quick drive to the old town and to a very nice beach.
Beware of the mosquitos! I didn't know to expect them and ended up with lots of bites.
We had a great holiday and the owner and staff at Art Villa Ines were lovely and tried really hard to make our holiday special. The hotel looks lovely (small bits of garden & various seating areas around the small pool) and was really clean and had comfortable beds.
Despite my card details being taken on booking.com, you have to pay in cash which seems ridiculous nowadays, plus you aren't warned in advance (if we had been, I would have taken more cash!). It meant we spent quite a bit of time getting to cash machines and taking out sufficient amounts of cash. There was also issues with hot water - not enough in the afternoon/evenings meant cold showers most days! The only other issue was the number of mosquitoes - the hotel was taking some steps to keep them away but we were still eaten alive!
The swimming pool
our room... Or should I say our "cave" because located underground right behind to the technical room, was horrible. The door of the shower was broken as well as the bathroom door. The mirror in the bedroom was broken. The cleaning was border line, We have found a coin under the bed.. The internet didnt work and i had no hotwater the full evening. Decoration is subjective but I have to say that no efforts are made to create a nice and consistent environnement. All of this for 79 euros... When we left the manager didnt even ask how was our stay in her hotel. It's a shame, avoid.
Swimming pool Rooms Ines and the women who served us. Garden the view.
Lot of Mosquitoes Wifi not wworking properly inside house Breakfast too standard
friendly staff. the pool and the location in the garden. very quite and relaxing place
the "room with garden" is in reality an underground room with a roof window on the garden. it was nice anyway, but this caused huge problem with the internet connection, which was available everywhere in the hotel except in my room. that's a very big trouble if you are traveling for business, like me.
The staff, including the owner was incredibly hospitable and friendly. She was very approachable and friendly! The villa itself was situated within perfect distance of all amenities and the private pool was a bonus. The décor of the villa both in and outside was very well presented and the cleanliness was top of the line! I could not give anymore praise to Ines and her team at Art Villa Ines and i would not think twice about recommending my family and friends to stay there or to even go back myself!
The fact that i had to leave!
Daniella was brilliant, very friendly and helpful. Gave great restaurant suggestions and was always available to provide assistance in any way she could, if only all the staff there were as good as her. The swimming pool was lovely, a really pleasant little oasis. We got breakfast 1 morning, there was a good selection, the food was nice and it was good value. There was a shop across the road and also 2 good restaurants within easy walking distance. The walk to old town is pleasant, especially if you use the row boat which shortens the walk.
Staying here was like staying in an elderly relatives living room. The 'apartment' did not feel like it was designed for the purpose of accomodating paying guests. It felt very cluttered. The doors to the kitchen and hall opened on to each other. There was no space to leave bags other than in the hallway. There was too much 'art work' in the rooms and this added to the feeling of clutter. The bedroom and bathroom smelled of urine. This was the case for the duration of our stay. The curtains were flimsy and did not block light. We used the shutters but had to move blocks out of the way to access them. They were not convenient to open and close so we ended up leaving them closed most of the time. The windows were at a high level so even when shutters etc were open there was no view. It felt very claustrophobic especially with the unpleasant odour. The 'kitchen' was completely inadequate. Only 1 socket was provided to operate the fridge and cooker. There was 1 other socket at table level which you could use for the kettle but we did not like to do this as it was within reach of our 2 year old. There were no saucepans whatsoever, therefore you could not use the cooker. The kitchen itself was tiny and would only fit 1 person at a time. The TV was in the second bedroom/ living area behind the bed, not well located for watching TV in bed. There were also frosted glass doors between rooms which meant light from 1 room went into the other which was inconvenient for us trying to get our son to sleep in the bedroom. There was no toilet roll in the bathroom until the room was cleaned after our first night. Our room was not cleaned on our second day even though we left the room several times. Bed linens etc were visible drying around the property, this does not add much to the ambiance. The location is a good 2 mile walk to the old town. We were offered a taxi booking to the airport at a cost of 220kn. We requested this for 3.
Owner and staff couldn't do enough to make the stay an enjoyable experience, the pool area was great for relaxing, local taxis very cheap, very handy for shop, bar and restaurants.
A bit far out of the way from the main places of interest,we had to get a taxi every time we went out,
What an amazing stay! Ines and the staff couldn't have been more helpful - always checking we had what we needed, booking tours and taxis! My husband and I slept perfectly and loved the restaurants nearby - much nicer than those in Old Town. The walk to Old Town was okay, about 2km or 25mins. WiFi was perfect! NOTE: If anyone is visiting from Australia, bring Ines something to remind her of her Melbourne childhood ;)
Art Villa Inez is a clean, comfortable, homey-feeling place. It is casual and not pretentious. This is a kick your shoes off and settle-in kind of place, casual. I expect during warmer weather, one would spend all their time outdoors in the pool or hanging out on the terrace. Inez is lovely and welcoming, as is her assistant. They are committed to making sure you are comfortable. We received real hospitality, including special Croatian Easter bread and Croatian coffee--yum.
Ran out of hot water, but know that the owner is addressing this issue with a new system
