The service at the pizzeria linked to the Hotel was fantastic. Very friendly waiter and waitress, which was a lovely change from the norm in the Hotel! Bathroom in room was not acceptable. The shower basin had been glued back together with silicone which had turned a brown colour. The shower basin also leaked so that when you had a shower the water escaped and flooded the bathroom floor. It looked like it had been in this state for quite a few months. In addition the staff, both at the bar and reception (with the excpetion of the one lady that checked us in) were extremely cold verging on rude. On two seperate occassions a simple request for a bottle of water from the bar staff felt as if we were getting in their way, even though the bar was very quiet. A similar experience was provided at the reception. They could do with a reminder that tourism is how they earn a condsiderable fraction of their income and should not treat tourists as nuisances. I am from Dublin, Ireland so some may say I am used to a higher standard of service, however a simple hello and a smile would have been more than enough from any of the staff.

A fantastic location- the only hotel in Mljet, which is a terrific island. The food is good. They have no competition- that is why the attitude is take it or leave it, and it is really overpriced for what it offers. However, Mljet island is overwhelming and it would be great to feel that in their hotel as well. Somewhat arrogant stuff at the reception. I asked some simple questions aboud dining, because we were b&b, they tried to charge for the kids- and in the brochure explicetly says that no charge is for kids bellow 6!!!! Afterwards I showed that to them it was ok. I wanted a room with a balcony and a view, I got one without balcony, we moved after a day.... Somewhat I can feel they try, but do really have to learn a lot!!!!!!!!!!!! Not a fair price for a poor 3*.

Buffet dinner good.Go even if you are not staying there! Hotel is in desperate need of renovation. Rooms are in very poor condition. Beds are the worst we have experienced in 30 years travelling - we had to get wooden boards put under matresses to be able to sleep and left with bad back pain...!!! Hotel is vastly overpriced - a terrible disappointment. If you are going to Mljet - a beautiful island - do not stay here......As an hotelier and travel trade professional this was the worst stay in our 3 weeks in Croatia - twice the price of a good appartment and terrible rundown facilities.

The location was perfect. Close to the action and the beach. The staff was friendly and accommodating. One desk clerk tried very hard to get us an unscheduled transfer to another island, but it fell through. Dalibor, at the bar, was charming and engaging, and the tiny recreation monitor was a bubbly, enthusiastic little sprite. The decor and amenities are outdated, a little stiff and dry. On entering the upstairs hall we were overwhelmed by the heavy odor of bunker fuel, used in ships. The desk clerk not only dismissed our concern, but pretended there was no odor. That smell hit us every time we entered the hall via the stairs, the elevator or the terrace. We did not have the smell in the room, but the mini-bar fridge was not working and it smelled bad when we checked it.

Lovely setting Very nice location. Pity about the service and food. Staff is very unprofessional and laid back. Service is non existent. Be aware of the additional park entrance fee this apparently is not optional. We were made to believe that this was included only to be charged an additional 77 Kuna irrespective of wether we visited the park. Once again fantastic location but very poor service.

The reviews of this hotel weren't particularly good, but it was the only hotel handy for the national park so we decided just to book a standard room without seaview or balcony (because other guests had mentioned problems with noise from boats). When we arrived we were given a room with balcony and sea view anyway, which actually turned out to be very nice--great view over the moored yachts and a large balcony with comfortable seating and somewhere to dry towels and bathing costumes. We shut the doors at night and put the aircon on so weren't aware of noise from the boats--I can see that if the aircon wasn't working this might not be possible in the middle of summer. The decor in the rooms is quite old fashioned but in quite a pleasant way (lots of dark varnished wood, like being on a boat), and the beds were a bit soft but not at all uncomfortable. Staff were helpful with lots of good tips on where to cycle/swim etc. There is no hotel pool but there was a nice public swimming area 30 yards along the road which was perfect for pre- breakfast swims/late afternoon dips. Reception was a little understaffed--only one person seemed to be on duty at a time so if they were dealing with a more complicated query a queue could build up of people just waiting for their room keys, which was sometimes a bit frustrating. The bathroom was perfectly clean but did not smell particularly fresh when we arrived (this was also mentioned in a number of other reviews) but we left the extractor fan on for a few hours and the smell pretty much disappeared.

Excellent location and very helpfull front desk for a 3 star hotel (they even offered us the ticket to national park). The hotel is old but very clean and with a 4 star breakfast with great view to the bay. I strongly advise to spend just a few euros extra and book a room with sea view - it makes the difference. Taking into account it is a 3 star hotel I only have good things to say about it

On arrival the receptionist was warm and friendly, and we were able to check in to our room at midday despite the advertised 2pm on our booking form. The hotel has an excellent location, surrounded by lots of activities and sites. As the hotel is situated in the National Park, your np fee is included in the booking and they give you your passes on arrival. The room was comfortable and clean, and most importantly in August; well air conditioned. Wifi access was available in the reception area where there are plenty of seating, and also a couple of computers for those who don't have an internet device. For breakfast there are cold hams and cheeses, pancakes, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, and cooked eggs, bacon and veg. Other guests tend to feast excessively, but there are plenty of staff around to replenish if you need to ask. As we were travelling from the Sobra port, they also have a minibus service they can arrange for you. As three star hotels go, it's got all you need.

The location was excellent -- just a short walk away from the two "lakes" for which Mljet is famous. The person at reception when we arrived was very helpful and friendly. The swimming area was ideal and the views from our balcony were beautiful (though you had to stand up to see them). The cleaning staff were working early and were very noisy. The buffet food, though all-you-can-eat, was very mixed -- cafeteria-style and some items good, some almost inedible. Our room had terrific sea view but the concrete balcony walls blocked the view completely if you were sitting down. The facilities and furniture look overused and in need of repair and refurbishment. For example, the umbrella on the balcony was broken and wouldn't stay standing. The package tours using the dock were loud and more interested in partying than the nature for which Mljet is most famous. Though parking was available, it was stressful to find an adequate place.
