Walking distance to old town but uphill back so took a taxi. Great view from hotel and enjoyed the private beach cove. Nice pool, hot tub and patio. Breakfast was good. With a hard rain the room had leaks. Menu pricey. Table linens not 5 star. |

Location a little further out than I thought from the old city/airport transfer drop off point (800m uphill) but still good, not far and there are plenty of buses. The hotel itself was great: designery with wonderful views over its own small bay you can easily swim around (shame the hotel does not look nicer from the outside looking in). Breakfast good and again you could sit out with great views and staff very helpful. Not really but certain facilities might not stretch if the hotel were full. Went at the end of the season and even then only just enough sunbeds etc and (to the extent possible) a refusal to provide more while the indoor pool/spa was small and would not have been able to provide much of an alternative luckily the weather was good. Also minor but the beach did not seem to be private as suggested and indeed at one point workers came down and started digging up sand and gravel for a villa/hotel which is effectively being built on the same bay. |

Really peaceful and comfortable. Although it was situated on a main road, hotel is built into the cliff-face meaning that most rooms are below road level and face the sea. Sound of waves on the shore was soporific. Staff were available if required, but never intrusive. Reception staff were well able to converse in English. The main restuarant for evening meals, Vapor, had a terrace overlooking the sea. There was such minimal lighting that, after the sun had gone down, there was insufficient light in which to enjoy the Chef's creation, or to see precisely what one had on one's plate, or to be able to read the menu! |

I can't believe that anyone has anything negative to say about this hotel (other than the price). The location (walking distance to the old town & right on a superb private beach), design (very modern & luxurious) and staff (always very polite & accommodating in English & Croatian) were all 5 star. Our 3-night stay at the Hotel Bellevue was a fantastic way to end our 2-week Croatian vacation. I will not hesitate to recommend this hotel to any of my family/friends. The price .... we went slightly off-season in mid-September so I expected somewhat of a discount but I could not find any online. |

Fantastic location, just outside the (much too busy) tourist center. Direct access to the beach by elevator. Wonderful swimming in the bay. Very friendly staff and modern design. We loved the Bellevue and will go back! Limited cupboard space in room and breakfast buffet not very exciting. |

Hotel close the old town of Dubrovnik. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooms The restaurant is very expensive and overdone. The food not really 5 star. The beach was very crowded and noisy. Some guests were also very noisy during the night. The hotel is not a true 5-star |

The private pebble beach is beautiful, surrounded by diving rocks and enclosed in a gorgeous cove. The hotel rooms are designed in a hip, modern international style, and those with a sea view are truly luxurious. The staff are courteous and treat guests like stars. We were impressed by the smooth efficiency and kindness of all of the staff; my request for an iron and ironing board was carried out quickly. The breakfast spread provides enough sustenance for a healthy brunch - we found the natural blueberry juice, salmon and specialty cheeses especially scrumptious. The multimedia system in the room was hard to figure out, and we could never get the wireless or wired internet in our room to work, but we didn't ask for help, as we preferred just to go without for the two days we were there. |

wonderful hotel, sea view amazing, private beach in dubrovnik is a big big plus (particularly in summer when it is so hot) buffet breakfast has room for improvement (but good quality still), food slightly pricey with not much choice (but well executed still), excursions should be checked by hotel before recommanding them & calling them "luxury service" because some are not at all (mjlet excursion for instance) |

I've liked the location in regards to the center of the city The hotel doesn't have enough shade coverage and yes there are availability of the umbrellas, but they've been used by the people coming for a public beach usage and there is nobody from the hotel representatives who are making sure that hotel visitors are being taken care of. |

Beach and sea was very dirty with rubbish (Glass pieces, plastic bags, tabacco etc). I had to pick up some of these to dust bin. I propose to locate more dust bin on the beach and to put a sign and letter to bring back a rubbish to keep the sea clean. The guidance about the hotel was available by TV screen menu. It was horrible (slow and not organized) without any detailed information. Particulary restaurant information was problematic that when we had stayed, seafood restaurant was closed, but without any notification. Souvenior shop was introduced in the TV, but it was not existing actually. |

I strongly recommend this hotel. The staff speak very good English and look after your every need. The location to the old town is excellent and if you dont have the energy to walk back up the hill the bus is a simple option. They are also extremely honest having returned a very good pair of earings we left behind in the safe. I cannot thank them enough. This review is based on our stay at the hotel and not based on the return the earings. This is a very good five star hotel with a very high standard.David Houlihan |

Pleasant helpful staff. The hotel is smart, modern and pristine. Sea views from room, reception and terrace. Good facilities - spa treatments, sauna, gym, pool, beach, beach restaurant. Free wireless. Laptop hire. Private airport transfers at reasonable cost. The main barman whom I presume was the bar manager was excellent at his job and is a huge asset to the hotel.[no we're not related :) ] It would be unfair to criticize too much - this is a fine hotel - though most of the criticisms made by other reviewers are valid. The hotel is very nice but needs to do more to exceed expectations and truly be 5 star. Ticking the boxes (restaurant, pool, spa, etc) and charging 5 star prices doesn't make it 5 star. Can you really compare the Bellevue to Gleneagles or Imperial in Osaka or any of the great 5 star hotels of the world. They could put "free" water in the rooms even if only for the arrival of the guests. They could vary the dining menu. They could make the bar menu more obvious instead of making guests believe the dining room is the only option. The buffet breakfast could be improved. Cold meats and cheeses are laid out on a table with no cover and no chiller. They should make it more obvious that they will cook breakfast fresh for guests. As a rule they present it as buffet only. A review of the staff uniform (yucky brown!) would be a good idea, and smarten up the maitre d' please! Nevertheless this is still a very good very comfortable hotel which I would recommend. You will struggle to find better in Dubrovnik |

The hotel has great views over the bay and an excellent private beach. The staff are very helpful. It is on the pricey side and the spa facilities are slightly disappointing - luke warm turkish bath and small indoor poor. |

The best thing about the hotel is the sea view, that you have from your room, and from the restaurants (breakfast also) and the fact that you have almost a private beach for you. The cleanliness and the comfort are also high points. The water in this beach was the dirtiest I saw in all Croatia, and they could do a better scramble eggs at breakfast. We were also on our honey moon and they didn't do anything special like flowers on the bed, breakfast at our room or anything like this, which other hotels at the same category did (small things that make the moment special), but they did put us in a better room which was really... |

Our room was very comfortable & the view from the balcony down to the beach & out to the sea was fantastic. The lift from the hotel lobby down to the beach is perfect. The Breakfast buffet was very good & there was plenty to choose from. Dubrovnik Old Town is only about a 20min walk It would have been nice to have more options for food in the evening. We were directed by staff to the fine dining restaurant which appeared to be the only option for dinner. The steak was good though. |
