Hotel Istra  

The location is amazing. This is the best place for a family!! The animation and sports staff were so fun! My daughter loved the kids club. She stayed there everyday for 2 hours, so mom and dad could have adult time! She said it was her favorite thing about the vacation;)The food in Laterna, Lantana, and the pizzeria were delicious, the best steak and beer ever. The spa was so relaxing too, we were the only ones in there. They offered a wide variety of sports and boat rentals too. We took a canoe around the islands-gorgeous. We stayed 5 nights and had no reason to leave the island! If you stay longer, you may want to do some day excursions. I give our vacation in Croatia a 10!

Our air conditioner and refrigerator didn't work the first night. They fixed them the next day. I'm American, and I like my ice! No ice for the in-room drinks or the cooler. I asked the front desk if we needed reservations for the restaurant and she said no. That was not true. They fill up quickly so make a reservation! You can go early in the day and pick out the best table and reserve it!!

I cannot understand all the positive reviews... The hotel was far too expensive for what was offered. Staying on the Island is a handicap : always wait for the boat (once every hour), parking 1,5km from the harbour so again wait for the shuttle, extremely noisy : too much people, rooms extremely noisy and hardly isolated, when you want a place at the pool you have to wake up at 6 am, breakfast was the worst I ever had, staff couldn't care less about the guests. We went afterwards to a Kempinsky which was cheaper (!!!)

We were surrounded by the sea, yet at the same time we enjoyed the full comfort of the hotel, its swimming pools, bars, end restaurants. The Lanterna restaurant in the old castle nearby offers the best sea-food and other specialities, more over we were served there by the superbly trained waiters, who speak at least four languages. Running around the island in the morning was very enjoyable, and swimming in the clean sea water just perfect way to relax and feel good.

The St. Andrew island and Hotel Istra are still a hidden jewel at the Mediterranean coast. We spent ten fantastic days at the island in August/September, and this might be one the best vacations that we ever had. Mornings at the balcony with the undisturbed view at the town of Rovinj over the pristinely clean Adriatic sea are just irreplaceable. The hotel staff is very friendly and easy going, so that one does not feel like at the tourists farm. At the same time, they took care of all our needs and wishes. The boat transportation is organized perfectly well, so we could go to Rovinj whenever we wanted and with absolutely no hassle. The 15 minutes sailing was always a pleasant addition to the overall experience.

Posizione ottima, staff cordiale, ampi spazi e non si è mai ammucchiati.

La cucina colazione/cena non è all'altezza di un 4 stelle.

Die Lage ist der unumstrittene Pluspunkt des Hotel Istra. Ein sauberes Haus, alle Zimmer mit Meerblick und gut funktionierende Infrastruktur ergänzen ein positives Bild.

Das Abendbuffet bleibt weit hinter den Ansprüchen eines 4-Stern Hotels zurück. Das benachbarte Restaurant Laterna rettet die verdrießliche Situation.

L' isola è molto bella ,e ben curata,il mare limpido, è perfetto per chi vuole fare snorkeling.Un posto di vero relax.

Alla sera, a parte il bar sul porticciolo ci sono poche attrazioni.

Mi e' piaciuta la magnifica posizione un isola connettata ad altra isla piu piccola posizione comoda per raggiungere la citta' hotel molto suggestivo ottima vista mare molto pulito buon servizio.

La posizione dell'hotel, la "gita" in barca per arrivarci, il parco e le spiaggette dell'isola, la vista dalla camera. Nel complesso un posto davvero bello e che merita vistiare e dove merita soggiornare, specie in bassa stagione quando l'hotel non è pieno e l'isola non è assalita da turisti occasionali.

L'albergo aveva aperto al pubblico per la stagione tre giorni prima del nostro arrivo, quindi ci può stare qualche attenuante sulla qualità del servizio, ancora in fase di rodaggio. Però c'è stato subito un errore nell'assegnazione della camera ed il personale alla reception è stato corretto ma non eccessivamente cortese. Su 4 ristoranti esistenti, solo due erano ufficialmente aperti ma in verità uno solo operativo, e si trattava di un non eccelso buffet, certo inadeguato per un 4 stelle. Il vero problema però è stato che per una convention di medici era stato allestito un padiglione sul mare in cui c'è stata musica ad alto volume fino all' 1.30 di notte, cosa davvero fastidiosa (data anche la qualità della musica...)

Laut, nachts sehr laut, draußen (Musikveranstaltung nachts) wie drinnen, sehr schallleitender Boden, am besten wäre Zimmer im letzten Stock
