The bathroom was uncomfortable to have a shower in . Way too small and freezing cold. The heating system is very loud and the noise is very spreadable over the whole building . Everyone's step you can hear from the corridor in your room.
the location, the room, the spa bath, the bed all very good indeed.
someone had left something in the fridge that was not suppossed to be there
Talking with the coolest croatian girl ever, Tea. :P
Leaving the hotel so soon.
Nice location in the center of old town,
small "restaurant" for the in this case mediocre breakfast, small room, It will take a day ore two to find yourself in the labyrinth of old town,
Excellent spacious rooms in the heart of the city. Helpful staff.
Breakfast facilities rather cramped as only the small restaurant was open in winter time. This was the one feature that wasn't 4 star
Wonderful staff and quaint old city feel. Rooms super clean and up to date. Loved our stay.
The position is world class
The resturant noise directly below. I go to sleep early
The room was wonderful, we could hear the singing from the plaza like our own personal concert. The pizza here beat all in Split. The service with luggage and friendliness and knowledge was amazing, treated us like family. And the location to all was perfect. We would stay here again.
We liked everything, my only suggestion would be to spruce up outside dining area to compete with 3 other restaurants sharing the square since their food is better than all 3!
The included breakfast was very good, and the location was perfect
Loved that this hotel was so central. Staff were helpful.
Breakfast was very basic.
Location (once one had found it).
The jacuzzi leaked water over the floor. Breakfast not up to four-star standard.
Location was first class. Staff were always friendly and helpful.
the youngman receptionist received us @ Riva was so understanding of their mistake. Also young lady manager tried to sweeten our great disappointment by her snacky offer.
Reception and Reservations failed to keep my requested Superior Double Room. It was totally a smaller and different room than the one Booking.com reserved.
We reserved FIVE Superior double rooms but made the mistake of choosing the one person occupation as we were 5 couples travelling together. On checking in, the first thing we were told was how much extra it will cost us to change to double occupancy. However, the manager was accommodating on the day of our departure.
Attitude of staff member on checking in. We felt extremely unwelcome. Size and set up of SUPERIOR DOUBLE ROOM. If this was a superior double room, I would not like to see the quality of a standard room! Nowhere to put a suitcase, dirty walls, very sparse toiletries...no dustbin in the room, etc. We stayed in 3 other hotels in Croatia which more than met our expectations, this hotel was very disappointing indeed. The breakfast was not up to standard, squeezed into a very small area. Cockroach on the coffee table.
Lovely hotel right within the walls of Diocletian's Palace. Our room was clean and functional.
Since we were on the ground floor, we were awakened each morning by the noises of breakfast each morning. Breakfast buffet is plentiful, but crowded within a small hallway.
Location:right in the center Room: very nice and modern, but still in tone with the old town and history. Very clean. Great shower and bed. Very kind staff.
The entrance door from the back is always open and has nobody to verify if you are a guest or not. This is a big risk. The Breakfast is the worst I ever had in Croatia. To change COMPLETELY. They must rethink the organization and the menu. WiFi worked but maybe a bit bit slow.
Positives were staff : couldn't do enough. Upgraded to larger room (with spa bath) which was most welcome until I saw the stairs I had to lift my case up. I had originally booked ground floor room because of this. Bathroom was large, modern and very clean. Beds were very comfortable with nice fluffy pillows. Breakfast was ok. 10 walking distance to Central station and airport shuttle and promenard just outside the palace walls.
The hotel was within the walls of the palace which meant trying to carry my heavy suitcase up and down steep stairs trying to locate my hotel amongst hords of tour groups and stalls. Even the 'tourist office' misdirected me to wrong location. For this reason alone I would not stay in any of the many hotels within these walls. Different if you have a back back I guess. There are many hotels on street level and within a 1k walk of central station that are better suited for anyone with heavy luggage or disabilities. The room was one of the noisiest I've ever stayed due to floorboards on stairs and hallways which echo every noise and can hear all the conversations of other guests and the plumbing in the walls from other rooms. A terrible night's sleep. Only CNN English speaking tv channel. For one night it suited my needs whilst in transit to airport but wouldn't stay if longer than one night regardless of how great the staff are.
The hotel was in a good location walking distance to all the sight seeing, bars and restaurants. The hotel is also very modern and good wifi was essential which it had. The staff were very friendly, very accommodating and extremely knowledgeable. One staff member called Slobodan was especially excellent. He knew exactly what we wanted to do,where we wanted to go in a very friendly manner. At the end of the great stay we were running very short of time and needed to get to the airport quick. He took care of us amazing. Would definely stay again.
Slightly small rooms but what do you expect staying in a busy roman palace!!!!
Great location, very clean and polite team members
Very loud in the evening, I was on the ground floor though.
Beautiful hotel and amazing location. Hotel room and bathroom had high ceilings great lighting and were surprisingly spacious. Very good free breakfast. The restaurant staff were kind, and their was a very helpful bellman (he was a do everything kind of guy).
The rooftop didn't have any views as advertised. It did have a hot tub and sauna- but they were both so tiny there wasn't any room for us to enjoy them because a family of five had overrun the place. The towels and sheets were crazy scratchy. And they did not have robes in the luxury bathrooms (again not as advertised). The front staff/concierges were not helpful. They sent us out without recommendations (although we asked) or to find travel agencies to help with our day trips. And just not that friendly. Overall, our room and location was above our expectations and the service was below.
The location is great, right in the middle of the palace.
Although we were upgraded, which is always nice, I dread to think how small our original room would have been! You couldn't walk around the bed due to the sofa almost touching it! Airconditioning controlled by reception rather than in the room and was not working.
Service, reception staff were offhand and unhelpful.
The location was good, located centrally within Diocletian's palace. The jacuzzi on the roof was great. One or two of the staff were really helpful and friendly, the rest were not.
The room was just average. It was clean, but the workmanship of the construction meant lots of things didn't work properly, glass shower doors which grated against each other, etc. The light switch to the bathroom was located behind a door, you have to slide your fingers behind a sliding door to find it. The bathroom door didn't close properly (by design) leaving say a 3 cm gap open and thus no privacy. There were missing lightbulbs. It was a struggle to get to use the jacuzzi on the roof, the staff didn't volunteer any information, and then when we specifically asked told us sorry you have to book it, and all spots are taken - until 8pm and then you have to pay for it (additional 100 euros - usually rented to external parties). This is not mentioned in the advertising for the hotel, that their advertised facilities are not actually available for you to use. We got to use it in the end, the staff member who was on that night was very helpful, a great contrast to the rest. WiFi in our room was weak. I would not stay here again.
Ideal location to visit Split. Fast access to the port to go to the islands. Parking charged to the room. Fashion room. Efficiency of the aircon.
Some difficulty to find a place to park a car. Aircon noisy but not unconfortable. Breakfast: only one tea pot for all the guests and only for a single person! No toaster. Not acceptable in a 4 star hotel. No effort made to provide gluten free bread whenever asked at the reservation in April. A bit too expensive for the service given.
excellent for exploring Split due to its location in the middle of the city; modern details (lighting) together with well preserved parts of old structures (medieval walls) work really well together; excellent breakfast
photo showing its entrance is misleading as it is not opposite the Cathedral as suggested, but rather hidden behind (difficult to find)
