None of the above categories are really suitable. The hotel is extremely well located in the old city. We took the apartment on the top floor which had spectacular views of the sea and over Split. It is in a very old building which was reflected in the shape of the rooms and bedroom floors. This price did not include breakfast which allowed us to sample the local produce and bakeries. The entrace was not grand but quite adequate. Beware - there is no elevator. We thought it was tops. |

Kind service, helpful personal. Situated excellently in the middle of the old town and the the Diocletian palace. Lack of elevator. Limited cold breakfast buffet and quality of coffee |

The location was goood. For the price I thought the hotel was over rated. I woul not send a client to this hotel from the United States. I am a travel Agent and clients would be turned off just by walking up to the hotel. |

I had an amazing stay at the hotel. The staff was absolutley fabulous. Extremely pleasant and accomodating. The hotel is located around the corner from a main opening in a smaller open plaza. The furniture and everything about the room that I stayed in was immaculate and perfect. The simple touches of pictures hung and the lighting as well as the actual view out into the square (open plaza) was great. It is as if a keen interior decorator with a flair for the simple but elegant underlining details designed the room and the main entry. Very nice. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and would definitely recommend this as the place to stay in Split. No. Everything was excellent! |

Very centric in Split with a cosy room and helpful staff. Everything was ok but considering that we also stayed in private apartments at cheaper prices for the same quality, the hotel price could be more competitive. |

The B&B Hotel Kastel was extremely good value, with very friendly and helpful reception service. Its position could hardly be bettered, with immediate access to Split's Riva in one direction and Diocletian's Palace in the other. The room was comfortable and, in our case, with sea views. The only problem we encountered was the air-conditioning which worked very efficiently to cool the room but made rather too much noise doing it. (Maybe we didn't get the hang of it.) |

Very convenient location and quiet considering that it was located in the old centre. Friendly staff. The shower room was exceptionably small and the breakfast choice was very limited. |

The hotel is right in the centre of town so close to everything. The staff were accommodating to the changes to our booking and made sure that we left welcomed and comfortable. |

Hotel had an exellent situation in the old town of Split. Everything turist is interested on is around. We could see even see from our window. Stuff were nice and helpfull. Room was clean. Price for a simple room was a little bit too high - even we were in Split. |

Location was excellent, palace at the rear and seafront to the front. Very close to bus, train and ferry terminals. Handy for shops and restaurants. Staff were very friendly and helpful even brought us food up on a tray as we were out for a day trip and were too early for breakfast. Room was spotlessly clean and had mini-bar, satellite tv (which enabled us to watch the speedway world cup series we thought we would miss) hairdryer was useful ,towels were changed daily. Nice breakfast with good selection.Didn't use internet but useful to have it available if needed. Just so handy for everything. Had heard it might be noisy but we didn't find this a problem at all as good double glazing. Very glad we had good air-conditioning in room. Was put off by dingy appearance ouside back. Down an alley, up steps, with scaffolding around it to reach the entrance. Once inside changed my view it was a lovely place and would definitely stay there again. |

Great location right in the centre of town. Staff were helpful. Not good value for money, very expensive for what it was. Very poor air-con. |

The location, being right by the waterfront and Diocletian's Palace. Reception staff were very helpful. A bit pricy for a B&B with a tiny bathroom, but it was not out of line with others, and I thought Croatia is generally rather expensive for what you get. |

I liked the central location. The room was spacious and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Despite arriving at midnight due to flight delay, I was warmly received. I did not care for the location of room, which was on the main entrance level at the bottom of the stairs. People coming and going, and up and down the stairs was a bit noisy. |

The situation of the hotel was just perfect. Our window looked down onto a busy square which was lovely. (Double glazed window blocked sound at night quite successfully). So near the centre of the town and the transport facilities. Couldn't have picked a better place to say. Loved it. I know this is a bit picky but my friend and I both left with bruises on our knees from having kept coming in contact with the corner of the bed posts, which were not really evident but there! The stairs up to the hotel made it quite difficult (but not impossible) to get the cases in and out. |

We had a big room looking onto the square and a side view of the Riva. Excellent location being in Diocletian's Palace: close to port, shops, restuarants, bus stops. Tea and coffee facilities. Great breakfast with delicious fresh fruit. Directions on hotel's own website were very easy to follow. No lift and we were on the third floor. No teaspoon to stir tea/coffee with. |

The location on the edge of Diocletian's Palace is excellant, particularly if taking a ferry. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was quite good. Relative to the other hotels we stayed in during our stay in Croatia, the accommodation was fairly basic. It was clean and adequate however, and the price perhaps reflects prices in Split. |

Very central position handy to promenade, sea frontage and cafe/bars. We found it a little difficult to locate from the description on the web page as road names (if any) are difficult to find. Signage on the hotel could be more prominent. |

It is a great location on the edge of the palace. We had the 2 bedroom apartment on the top floor with windows on 3 sides. It's spacious & nicely decorated. It has great views. It was very clean. We were given the option of paying with cash or credit card. The beds were comfortable. It was a little hard to find once on foot. Driving in Split was also confusing. Parking is about 1/2 mile away, but is an easy walk. There is a parking lot on the north west side of the town. It's right next to the start of the pedestrian streets. If there is a festival, it will be loud. There are a lot of stairs. |

The perfect loction and the friendly staff. Not really. The air conditioning unit took up a lot of space and didn't work, but it wasn't an issue at this time of year. |

The hotel is centrally located in walking distance of the bus and train station. The staff were quite helpful. The hotel was difficult to find, tucked down a back street behind the main promenade. Relative to other places stayed in Croatia, the room was small, there were many stairs and no lifts available. Internet was not included in the price. |

The hotel has an excellent location, close to the ancient monuments and ferry harbour and near to a wide selection of restaurants, bars and ice cream parlours. The staff were friendly and ready to answer queries about the town. The breakfast is excellent, offering a variety of coffees and other beverages, fresh fruits, yogourts, bread, cheese and ham. |

Very good location, just a couple of minutes from the Diocletian´s palace, 15 minutes walk to the ferry port, bus and train stations. Great views from the my room - overlooking the Split bay and the harbour. Very clean and spacious room. Friendly staff. A bit expensive for the 3 star hotel, expensive internet. |

Built in 1921, the Park is a traditional first-class hotel in the centre of Split, very close to the famous Diocletian’s Palace. |
These nicely furnished apartments are located in the Žnjan quarter of Split, near the main beach and about a 40-minute easy walk along the sea away from the centre of Split. |
Situated near Diocletian's Palace in one of the oldest parts of Split, this newly renovated stone villa is within walking distance of many of the city’s attractions. |
