The location: at sea side, easy to find. Need some renovations. It was very very difficult to park the car, with no near parking places at the time. |

My wife and I liked the architecture and the beautiful setting. The ballroom was, or has been, spectacular. The receptionist seemed surpised to see us. The room (310) was cramped, dingy, with some wallpaper peeling and the exterior paint peeling from the window frames. Only two members of staff smiled. The food at dinner (we came in at 8 pm|) was overcooked, almost cold, and an unpleasant experience. In all, the hotel needs a major facelift and significant effort put into staff training to give your guests a pleasant stay. We were not surprised to learn from Holiday Options that they will not be featuring the 'Grand Hotel Kvarner' in their 2010 brochure. |

Exclusive location, and private beach. Great for evening strolls in Opatija. The hotel needs serious refurbishment as it almost completely lost its past glamour. The rooms and bathrooms were probably in good shape 70 years ago, and now would be rewarded only 1-star at most (e.g hole in the bathtub!). |

Spectacular location on Opatija Waterfront with great swimming.It was fun to experience the faded glory of the Hapsburg realm-having breakast in the ballroom was a treat. AC or even fans in the rooms would be a big help |

The building was as expected, style from the past. Good location next to the beach. Huge terrace with a live band in the evening. Excellent breakfast. Air condition would have been nice. Hotel parking was a bit tricky but manageable. |

History behind this hotel.It has a character.Location-view.Hotel staff.Entertainment YES-had to pay for beach chairs daily.We traveled a lot-never run into situation like this.Hide the money in total cost but do not give me a ticket daily for a chair.Money was not the issue-but the way it was done. |

Fabulous architecture and location. View from balcony. Maid service. Pool area and swim terrace. Room at the back was horrible, noisy and stuffy. Oompah band every night not to everyone's taste! Pigeons!! Garden needed weeding and the large empty terrace could be improved with landscaping. |

The staff was very watchful over my well being. My initial room placement was not one that was as portrayed online in the internet, yet it was changed and that made all of the difference in my 5 days there. A parking lot view over a sea view was greatly appreciated. The breakfast was an added bonus; in addition to the view. I think although it seems to be a practice in the area, the hotel should let the hotel guests have the loungers outside by the pool and the sea for free and not have to pay the 15 kuna. In America, that would be considered part of the room fee. That was expressed by many guests that I overheard. |

Old hotel with glamour... Own beach (not sand), indoor and outside swimmingpool. Location was perfect in the middle of city Opatija. No internet and air-condition. |

A szálloda fekvése csodálatos, a kiszolgálás korrekt, a reggeli bőséges, a szobák kicsit leéltek, ráférne egy alaposabb felújítás a bútorzatra és a felszerelésekre. Ez a szálloda valamikor fantasztikus lehetett, de mára egy kicsit leélt. Úgy néz ki, mintha az elmúlt húsz évben nemigen költöttek volna sem a bútorzatra, sem a felszerelésre. |
