only breakfast I would say I like.. no more than 200 word.
on October 26, 2014 we traveled from Korcula to Debrovnik by ferry and bus and arrived at the Hotel Lapad after dark and a 2k walk from the bus station. this is -by the stars on the door - a 4star hotel and quite large with a bay view. Who rates these hotels? When we compared to the Hotel Nina in Korcula, a smaller family run apartment hotel, this large hotel was a big disappointment. the woman at the front desk was impersonal, practically throwing us the key and a map as an afterthought when we asked about the buses, then briefly explaining- as she had obviously done too many times how to take the two different elevators to the 5th floor. When we arrived in the room we took a while to figure out the lights. The beer I took from the fridge, and foolishly opened was warm because the fridge didn't work! then we discovered that that we couldn't pick up a wireless signal on our phones. Tho it was cool outside the room was warm, we were hot from our walk and now we couldn't get the AC to work. I called reception and a guy came up with his phone and said his phone was working fine. We showed him our Apple phones not getting a signal till we walked out on the balcony, and those were all locked because they were from different establishments. He told us that the air conditioning didn't work at this time of year. He resolved the issues while we were ready to leave- risking getting charged and needing to find another room- by bringing a router to or room and promising us another fridge in the morning? I doubt it will have an ice maker and our leftovers from a late lunch goes bad. ( to that he replayed that the refrigerator "wasn't for food". Come on people!
Good location. Short walk to bus stops for frequent buses into Dubrovnik Old Town. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent restaurant.
Very helpful staff Very comfortable rooms Cosy bar where we had the most amazing Cakes, which I highly recommend with afternoon tea!! Nice location
Larger hotel than expected and a long walk to and from our rooms. Most of the rooms have a bath with a shower in which my mother who was 84 found difficult. There were a few rooms with walk in showers which the staff very kindly offered her but with no balcony. So do ask when booking if you require a walk in shower etc.
Good and helpful staff, especially the dining room manager and bellman who were very welcoming. Upgraded our room for booked stay. Breakfast was one of the best buffets we saw on our entire trip. Wonderful trail close to hotel that goes for miles along the bay. Bus to old town stops in front of hotel.
good value spotlessly clean comfortable bedroom good bathroom with excellent shower quiet location
lack of atmosphere
The room is well-furnished with all basic facilities. A wide variety of items are offered for the breakfast.
The breakfast was one if the better we had while traveling and they were able to provide a high chair for our young child. The majority if the hotel staff was friendly and accommodating to our needs.
The majority of clientele were 60 and above and did not enjoy the added noise from a young child, even if the sounds are joyful. The location was not great, the hotel was fairly isolated, only a couple if restaurants or drinking establishments in the remote area.
Comfortable Beds Friendly a Staff Great Location Perfect pool setting
Limited Wi Fi access in breakfast area
We stayed at the beautiful, Hotel Lapad for 2 nights before & 2 nights following our pilgrimage to Medjugorje in Bosnia ( to celebrate 25 years of marriage). What an oasis of peace. Everything about the hotel & its staff had an air of quiet sophistication - and it was lovely to be there for the centenary celebration. We were very generously upgraded to delightful rooms by reception because of our own anniversary. Thank you so much Hotel Lapad - we have wonderful memories of the whole trip to take home with us.
Excellent location with great view from room 33!
Temperature control in bedroom.
Location superb, comfortable rooms, friendly staff
Nothing - all good
pool needed cleaning
Nice view from our top floor room.
See though partition at bathroom so no privacy when showering. Small balcony with room for only one chair. Staff had been instructed not to give glasses of tap water at bar so had to buy water at bar prices.
Being away from Old Town, but close by bus. Lapad had some really good restaurants close to the hotel. Lots of breakfast choices and wide variety.
Rooms were very small for what we had thought was a luxurious hotel - perhaps the rooms in the new building are larger.
Excellent staff, very good location.
A pity there aren't more lounge areas to relax and rather more foliage in the garden areas: a minor criticism in a very good hotel. The dining room felt just a little cold with sparse decor.
pool area lovely, towels provided. Marvelous selection at breakfast. Bus stop few yards to left, one way system so if you do not want 5 min. walk to Dubrovnik you can catch bus to terminus which will then return to Dubrovnik, bus stops at city gate.
Lite snacks in hotel bar would have been great.
Stayed four nights to complete our 3+ weeks in the Balkans. Hotel appears to cater to tour groups and cruisers. As a senior couple traveling alone, most of the staff seemed putout at any request. Hotel seemed more interested in large contracts w/ travel groups than individual travelers. Location was good and onsite parking available. Dinner was good; but much better options just a few doors away. Breakfast good; but very crowded with that cruise ship atmosphere.
Stains in the carpet in the hallway and room. Soviet era customer service.
Great location, great room in new section of hotel, excellent buffet breakfast
Room size a bit small
Great location - tranquil but very convenient for all kinds of trips; bus to Pile Gate 4 min walk & 8mins trip. Small ferry boat to Gruz or the islands on yout doorstep - beach 8 mins walk. Tour operator for day trips in the lobby was very professional. Very civilised atmosphere with fabulous selction of seriously good cakes for tea and an excellent selection for breakfast. Also, it's a pretty hotel w/ great staff. + v important for me great sound proofing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
All was good.
The staff is amazing. I am relatively well traveled, and they rival the best service team I've experienced over the years.
Well, when in Dubrovnik I think it makes sense to stay closer to the Old city. The bus access (No. 6) does make travel to/from easy though.
View of water & Cruise Liners. Enjoyed the breakfast, there was plenty of choice. Very pleasant area, with a very nice stroll along the waterfront then up & over the hill down into the Old City, fabulous!!!!
Sorry, but most staff gave off the impression that they didn't want to be there!! (It's not my fault that they dislike their jobs!!!) :-)
Some good and easy walks and good restaurants within walking distance. If you want to go to Ottos make a reservation. M
The midges! But that's not the hotels fault.
Generally a clean modern hotel with a good breakfast selection included in the price.staff were courteous. selling point is the view of the harbour right outside the entrance and for 80 kuna (£1) you can get a taxi boat to the other side where the coach and ferry terminal is located. Access to the Old Town, city wall etc was convenient, bus stop was a 5 minute walk and they were frequent. Lapad beach was a 15 minute walk with restaurants and bars along the way, walk an extra 10 minutes and you will be rewarded with views from the luxurious More Hotel that has a lovely restaurant of a high standard and a funky cave bar. Little tip!, there is a 5 star hotel/ restaurant called Kazbek literally 2 doors down as you come out of the hotel Lapad and turn left, the food there is top class with impeccable service and reasonably priced, the waiter showed us around and the decor is opulent.
Our main complaint about this hotel was the price! Definitely over priced considering the size of our room. Could barely swing a cat and the layout didn't make full use of what little space there was. We paid €145 a night and generally speaking, compared to various other hotels/ apartments we have stayed at in Croatia this one did not represent value for money, as mentioned earlier it's saving grace was harbour view and convenient location.
