Hotel Monte Mulini is a 10-minute walk from central Rovinj. It is surrounded by a lush, centuries-old protected nature park and overlooks a bay.
Score from 189 reviews Wonderful
Superb hotel. Worth every penny of your holiday budget
Nothing to dislike here.
Quirky designed hotel in a nice location, next to the Punta Corrente nature park, with nice facilities. Breakfast was good, and the meal we've had in the hotel was excellent, but pricey. For the rainy days there's an indoor pool, sauna and a well equipped gym.
Boom-boom techno music base going right through the hotel as you're trying to sleep. I have no idea where this was coming from, but even earplugs didn't help much.
Everything was perfect. The room the breakfast. Modern Hotel with a lovely walk to city centre along the prom.
Location - lovely walk into town along the prom! Staff, especially in reception and restaurants, were always very polite and helpful. Hotel and pool area immaculate.
The seating! On rainy days we had to sit in our room as there was only a small bar on the reception floor with limited seating which was very low and uncomfortable. We could not sit on our balcony as the seats were made of string! Sadly the hotel has no atmosphere possibly due to not having a welcoming bar.
The overall design and the finishes used both inside and outside the hotel is visually appealing and for a hotel of its size noise levels are minimal making a stay here very relaxing
- location - beach - kindness of the staff - multilingual
- The price in the hotel restaurants, beter to go out and eat in the city. - Bad wifi coverage and speed
Smart design. Great facilities. Friendly and attentive staff.
Aircon only went down to 20 C. WiFi could have had better range so we could have got it on the balcony. I'm being picky though.
quality of hotel is very good breakfast rooms
I find the hotel too expensive, it really hits an very high segment in the market and delivers 'just' very good quality To share the swimming pool with other hotel too bussy at the swimming pool
The hotel is in a good location, extremely clean and the staff is very kind and helpful. Good breakfast and good food at the beach café if you are with young kids, that's a bonus. Hotel seemed to improve the control of the sunbeds. Easy walk to the town.
I have never seen such a crowded beach in my life! It is a nicely shaped little bay and the hotel staff does a good job to control the sunbeds however the public is allowed by law to access the coastline anywhere in Croatia, that means no private beach and can be very busy. Crossing the bicycle path on the way to the beach from the hotel - people with the bicycles do not seem to recognise their speed - and there are many young kids or slower people around - I was surprised that I have not seen any accidents during our stay.
Perfect experience like last year!
Very beautiful designed hotel Great rooms Excellent food Quiet Superb setting
Good modern hotel. Comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Would recommend if travelling with young family.
Rooms: We arrived to the impressing sight of Hotel Lone, and felt overwhelmed with the consistent minimalistic design, from the beautiful yacht-inspired architecture to the visual identity on signage and menucards. The room was big and in good condition, clean and nice. There was roses on the bed and in the bath top (We wrote that this would be our honeymoon - when we booked the hotel) Food and wine: The breakfast was included, and contained a great variety of fruit, eggs, meats, bread, fresh made espresso eg. It was great! Lone has three restaurants with great and relatively cheap food + wine. We recommend to try some of the delicious local wines from istria- especially the ones from meneghetti. We had a trip to Meneghetti restaurant/wineyard (35 minutes from roving) - expensive to go there by transfer (100 euro) but what a wonderful, beautiful and tranquil place. Fantastic food and wine! Beach and neighbouring areas: Along with two other hotels, Lone shares a beautiful pool area and a fantastic beach. You get beach chairs/beds for free and delicious drinks and food at an affordable price. The beach bars are beautiful, and the service is great. There is endless city walks in the old town. When you want to get out in the open air, you can take a walk in the opposite direction, trough the beautiful park. Spa, wellness and fitness: In the lower end of Lone you find super spa, wellness and fitness facilities. We had the spa and sauna all by our selves - so nice. The service and waiters. All the waiters and receptionists was very helpful and the service was great. One evening we even had a bottle of ice and some wineglasses delivered in the room - so that we could zip wine (our own wine brought from the Meneghetti trip) on our beautiful terasse from our room. Conclusion. Hotel lone and rovinj is a small paradise. The atmosphere is great, and the feeling of “first class” and being taken care of is fantastic.
We had to visit the lobby to make wifi work. - The bright side: we spend most of our honeymoon without Facebook, and texting :-) Car rent and transfer We wanted to rent a car for a couple of days. We cancelled our own reservation made before the trip- since the guide/reciptionist on Lone had a better deal. However, we had some misunderstandings about the price (we needed to drop off the car in venice for our trip home - we where told it would result in an extra fee at 270 added to our price at 450 kuna pr day. Fair enough. However, not until we had to pay the car-rent-firm, we realised that the 270 was in euro! Therefore we cancelled this deal. On top of that we found out that there would be no refund for the car rent - this was told to us later. (We had a bottle of wine as compensation) but as a minimum we would have liked to know these terms, so that we could have enjoyed the car for a day (since it was already payed for) The short version of all this: The service at Hotel Lone is great, but the guides/receptionists is a bit vague in terms of price and agreements. The car firms that they collaborate with where simply too sloppy. Several times they where delayed, which was a huge problem, since we only had short time to enjoy our honeymoon. Be sure to ask and write down exactly what you have agreed with the receptionists/guides, and don’t be surprised if price and time will be changed along the way.
Maid have once missed to make up our room. Room was cleaned after notifying reception late in the afternoon.
The Croaita people are very friendly. The place is kept so clean. The weather and the sun.
The thunder storms
Modern hotel with great staff within walking distance of town
No real beach and crowded outdoor pool
Cleanliness of rooms and the whole facility. Friendly staff. Style and design of Hotel.
It was a little bit difficult to get the right size of teapots.
This was our second stay at The Lone and again really enjoy our stay, dinning at the hotel restaurant really was 5 star. Spa was top draw, also got a upgrade and late checkout. Nothing seemed to much trouble!
The pool area for this hotel is unsuitable to serve both The Lone and The Eden. We found most of the clients using the pool were mainly from The Eden, if you weren't at the pool by 10am the only sunbeds available were on the grass areas towards the beach club which you have to share with hoards of local famlies bringing picnics, and sat on blankets, this is not what you would normally expect from a 5 star hotel. Very disappointing.
Everything was just perfect. The staff were extremely professional and pleasant and made sure that we had everything we needed, even down to a plaster for my daughter's foot! The room was amazing, so clean and the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on. We loved the design of the hotel and really felt that everything had been carefully thought out. The breakfast buffet was superb, and so plentiful that we skipped lunch most days. As for the location, it could not have been better. It was lovely to be so near the beach and yet surrounded by the beautiful green gardens and beautiful pools that were so immaculately maintained. A fabulous family holiday hotel.
Beautiful Hotel in a beautiful location. A truly relaxing place to go on holiday. Worth every penny if you want to chill out. We would strongly recommend this hotel.
Fantastic location, superb designer rooms, fast free WiFi all over the hotel, nice swimming pool and lounge bar at the beach.
Expensive parking, no fresh orange juice at breakfast (a lot of hotels have a super juicer machine nowadays ...).
Nice, quality materials and design. Beautiful see side, beach area. Good quality breakfast. Room was nice, quite and clean.
Some sacrifice on design (no handheld shower, drawer under the table not visible, got my leg hurted, breakfast area looks a little like an IKEA food court, not enough shelves in the wardrobe all are hanging ones). Air-conditioning was too cold and could not really customize (always dropped back to 21C when leaving the room, outside was 32-33).
3rd time we go and we are always surprised with some new facilities they add each year
Wonderful modern hotel with excellent facilities and very close to the city. It was a great way to start our time in Croatia. The staff were great, of particular note was Adela at reception - she was genuine and took the time to explain the hotel and town to us which we appreciated.
The breakfast service was a little rushed and felt somewhat institutional but that maybe to be expected from such a large hotel.
