Score from 400 reviews Excellent
loved the location and the atmosphere of the hotel (even if it's not my style) the off-season pricing made it a good value rate
pity the spa is in another hotel building
great location kind staff
It's nice to get to experience a 5-star hotel at 3-star rates during the off season. Was very happy staying at the smaller of the two properties of the Milenij Hotels located next to each other. The larger one has a wonderful sunset deck where you can have cocktails and the best view in town of the sunset. We enjoyed a lovely al fresco dinner back at the Sv Jakov and had the most pleasant waiter who went out of his way to get us tips on where to continue our Croatian vacation. The breakfast was outstanding and opulently rich including the choice of Prosecco.
While we got a good rate, it might have been because the room was lacking some basic touches not befitting a 5-star rating. The curtains were missing in some windows and the blinds were kind of on Half mast. The location on the street also made it impossible to open the windows at night and the A/C as in many older properties was not that efficient.
Everyone was very nice and helpful, rooms are very clean and spacious, great breakfast.
Beds and pillows are too soft.
Centrally located; near to the sea; very helpful personal
the bells from the church start at 8.00 a.m. in the morning
Staff and location
Restaurant food needs to be carefully selected. Standard was too creamy for our personal taste. But when we ordered plain grilled fish it was perfect. But all staff excelled.
Location is excellent. All the staff were very helpful and presented a positive outlook. The concierge / manager was very helpful and pleasant
Just 20m next to the main hotel Milenij. You can use all Milenij facilities including pool and Spa. Good breakfast with free champagn as well. You can save money to stay here and using Milenij advantages. Excelent, romantic fish restaurant
It was a bit noicy at night and some smell from the restaurant.
Having enjoyed our previous stay at Sv. Jakov, we chose it again for our weekend trip. This time I would like to point out how very welcoming and accommodating the staff was. Their kindness and professionalism are another reason why I will definitely chose to stay at Sv. Jakov again.
Breakfast was only served until 10 and not until 11 like the previous summer :D
Amazing staff, perfect central location, delicious breakfast, spacious rooms. We loved it and plan to stay here again next time!
Excellent service, location and restaurant. Room was very good value for money with truly excellent breakfast. Restaurant is not cheap but is very good indeed with great selection of wines. Internet was fast.
Perhaps somewhat outdated for some, but this is being picky.
It was a central location and the hotel was quite. The Resturant is very good with fresh fish meal options.
Top class service, special thanks to Ante (reception manager), Damir and Sime (restaurant managers) for their personalised service. They made our stay very comfortable and we felt very special. These people amazingly speak all languages which makes guests feel at home. We for sure did. Recently, while staying at this hotel we got engaged and upon knowledge of this special occasion they arranged for a surprise gift and made it even more memorable. The historic building, location and extremely clean amenities were truly worth the stay. We are looking forward to coming to this hotel again in the near future.
nice building, beautiful location, good service
poor wireless small beds for two adults
The location is great and the reception manager was very friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful.
The breakfast buffet was very nice with a lot of variety - but you have to pay for any type of coffee or tea. Paying for coffee isn't a big deal, but seems very odd when you're not expecting it and when for example, smoked salmon, orange juice, and champagne are free.
Our room was very big, tastefully renovated with old furniture. The bathroom was big with a double sink. The absolute highlight was a huge private terrace with table and chairs under a canopy for shade and 2 lounge chairs facing the park with a glimpse of the sea. The breakfast buffet is ample with lots of tasty choices. good coffee.
The internet did not work on my apple. Oh, well. the different hotels have live music in the evening that can be heard until late at night.
Location, breakfast and staff.
Extremely dirty sunbeds and chair cushions, continous noise and smell of the air conditions of the kitchen, dirty toilet papers, damaged radiator. It couldn't happen in a 5 star hotel.
At the heart of Opatija. Atmosphere/legacy of Austro-Hungarian empire.
Classy hotel in very pretty park within town. Good central position. Nice restaurant.
Had to go next door to sister hotel to use the swimming pool. A little on expensive side.
Amazing location, friendly staff, good breakfast, etc
The hotel milenij is rated 5 stars. This is maybe true for the main building the one adjacent to milenij hotel sv. Jakov which is really an elegant and fine hotel
However, hotel milenij.sv jakov itself deservs 3 stars at the most. It was also under massive construction while we stayed there and only after "loudy" complain by us they moved us to the main building.
The staff was more than accommodating and our reception at check in was very pleasant. We had a problem with the TV and the problem was fixed promptly and pleasantly.
The noise outside the hotel was terrible. The was construction behind the hotel and the driveway was blocked and we had to wait for half n hour to get out. Also at 5:30AM there was yard work going on outside our window and we couldn't sleep.
Disastrous parking policy, on new year's eve led to chaos. Hotel had no staff after 6pm, so we were left to our own devices. Many little things not ok, like lighting in room insufficient, TV remote not working, paying extra for coffee at breakfast. How can this be a five star place?
