Deep Purple in concert across the strait in Zadar !!!
My 2 teenage daughters chose THE room- overlooking Galevac Island and its monastery( an 80m swim before breakfast); Zadar twinkled in the distance and the sunrise over the mountains was stunning.
The family-run guest house is comfortable, quiet and spotless and the owners are wonderfully helpful.
It's just a 15 min coastal walk/ride from the ferry terminal in Preko and the beach is 200m away. There's also a lovely pool which we didn't use much as the beach was so much fun ( especially the vendor selling.....hot sweetcorn !)
We ate in a couple of times and the food was delicious.
We enjoyed the family atmosphere on the island . The local bus took us to remote beaches and we hired bikes , too.
We hadn't heard of this part of Croatia a month before traveling , so it was all a bit of pot luck, but when elder teenager declared it was , in the words of Coldplay , " Paradise " , we knew we'd found a real winner.
The transfer from Zadar airport is a doddle-the shuttle takes you down to the harbor, the ferry crossing takes 20 mins and costs peanuts. So , it's well worth staying here.
Thank you Guesthouse Rusev , and thank you , sincerely , Ryanair for adding Zadar from MP2 ( I thought it was probably in N Africa !)
