Clean, comfortable rooms with plenty of space. Nice people w/good English skills and willingness to help. Right on bus line so easy access to town center. Good value for money. No street noise even though directly above the road - a pleasant surprise. Good value for money. Note: No bar/restaurant in hotel (right next door). Did not inconvenience us at all. Walls not thick enough to block all the interior building noise. Could be annoying of your room was next to a loud guest. Twin beds of moderate comfort. Not my personal preference but ok.

The staff was very helpfull and kindly. Location is good, about 15- 20 minutes walk to the Old City. We like to walk and see around. Breakfest was very good and you could choose omelets, pancakes and other dishes you want. We dont like carpetfloor.

Travelled to Montenegro v England Euro Qualifier and stayed at Hotel r on our return. The staff we're outstanding, from directions to attractions and helping with a problem we had with our hire car. We had the room with balcony at the front and it was superb.

We received a very warm welcome and considerable attentiveness on our arrival at Hotel R. The Lady of the House clearly appreciates her guests. Her husband (co-owner) drove us to the airport and his attentiveness and interest in his guests was also appreciated. One night's accommodation and breakfast were both satisfactory and good value. Move the coffee from a thermos type flask (which you have it in) to a hot ring (as you have for the hot milk and hot water). I like really hot coffee for breakfast as did the other 3 in my party.

Extremely helpful and friendly owners/staff, and good location - only a few minutes on the bus to the old town, and the bus stop is 30 secs walk from the hotel.

Staff superb: helpful with information, bookings and recommendations. It´s a 20-min walk to the old town but it´s a pleasant one along the coast. Anyway, you can always take a bus (stop just a few meters from the hotel) and reach the old quarter in a couple of minutes. Very good breakfast too. Nothing to complain about.

The best aspect was the pleasant, helpful staff. Room simple but adequate and comfortable - room with balcony good- without ? Breakfast - not 'big hotel' style but good and varied - lovely bread ! Could walk to the Old Town and the beach and convenient bus services for other journeys from just outside hotel. No space for a swimming pool - pity- you'd need to choose one of the big , impersonal hotels for that. Would have been good to have fridge in the room - but the staff helpfully kept medicine in fridge for me.

It is a hotel run by a very friendly family. Imagine 4 or 5 members of a family with one goal: making their hotel, best hotel in town. Honestly, though not a 5 stars, it must be the best hotel in its class. Right at the first day the owner of the hotel understood my purpose on the trip and helped me make the rest of the trip circuit. It was amazing. The breakfast is very good, with fruit, natural juice, cheese, ham, bread and honey, omelets and sandwiches they prepare for the host. The location is perfect. It is not within the old town, but close enough to walk to there. As well as easy access to all the buses that lead to all corners of the city. Just one but: the internet. The hotel has free wi-fi, that doesn't work well. Can you imagine this: after I said that the internet doesn't worked, they did put a router inside my room... Yes... Just inside my room. Isn't unbelievable. And they let me use their computer (from the reception) too. That's an amazing hotel. And an amazing family that made my time in Dubrovnik unforgettable.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel has great bus connection to the city center and many beaches rather close, you can get to the beach by bus as well. The room and bathroom were very clean and adequately equipped with air-conditioning and bathroom amenities. There is free parking in front of the hotel for hotel guests. The breakfast had adequate variety and fresh fruits. Our room had a view in the back of the hotel - basically looking towards the wall of the adjacent hotel. The distance to the old city is not really easy to walk due to a few uphills but if decide to do some exercise or so, it takes around 25-30 minutes of not-so-fast walking and the view to the beach is marvelous.

The staff of this family-run smallish hotel were absolutely wonderful. They were hands-on, friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile to ensure your stay was enjoyable. Breakfasts were tailored to suit each individual's needs. Good variety and selection. Advantage is that the hotel is on the bus route into the Old City and is only a 20 minute walk. Personel make this hotel!

hotel r is in a great location opposite beach at hotel bellvue and a minutes walk to bus stop serving the old town and more beaches in the opposite direction. the room had a balcony facing the sea and was clean and comfortable. the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and made restaurant reservations for us and explained everything we needed to know about the area. breakfast buffet with a selection of cooked breakfasts was also very good. would stay here again as the room rate offered much better value than nearby hotels.

For us it was an ideal hotel for our 4 day stay & perfect, lovely hosts. We chose it for location & reviews on "Booking.com" & other websites. Small (8 or so rooms), relaxed & friendly family run hotel. The hosts were extremely attentive and couldn't have been more helpful with practicalities & advice with excellent local knowledge & spoke pretty good English. They would often phone companies for us for schedules & prices & bookings at restaurants etc. Facilities - fairly basic but comfortable & with everything one needs, including air con. We had access to the internet when we needed it (informally). Hotel is clean & tidy & rooms cleaned daily. Good cold buffet breakfast & eggs / omelettes cooked to order. Location excellent - 20 minute downhill nice walk to Dubrovnik old town - or 10 Kuna (£1 approx) regular bus outside hotel - more useful for return at end of day - uphill but manageable if not unfit & healthier walk. Several nearby shops for provisions & cafes, sandwich bars & restaurants (but we tended to eat in old city). Very reasonably priced. Also recommended in a number of guide books (Rick Steve's I'd recommend from usa). Excellent communication when I e-mailed prior to visit.

The people at the front desk were very nice. When I was checking out of the hotel I tried to pay with a combination of cash and credit card. I usually like to get rid of my local currancy by using it to pay for hotel. However, they wouldn't allow me to do that at this hotel. They said you have to pay with one or the other.
