Offering rooms and dormitories with reading lamps and power plugs for each bed, the Palmers Lodge Hostel is set in the historic centre of Zagreb, just 15 minutes' walk from the central Bana Jelačića...
Score from 158 reviews Very good
staff was great, the place was really clean, location also terrific (about 15min by tram from downtown).
as with most european locations, the echos carry (you can hear people closing their doors, walking across a corridor, etc.).
The hostel is an easy tram ride away from the centre (10 kn one way, trams go every few minutes, and all night through). Peaceful place!
Location fro centre
Excellent wifi Reception 24h modern building kind staff
Awful position smelt if tobacco everywhere no good shops nearby no private parking available (even if they say so)
The staff at the front desk were lovely and very helpful, even after we had checked out.
The door to the room wouldn't shut quietly and had to be slammed every time.
the staff was friendly and helpful and that the doors had cipher
the sheets smelled weird, maybe they need to change the detergent :)
Comfy beds and nice staff. Quiet and calm nighbourhood.
Pretty poor breakfast and wifi lost signal all the time. Location is a bit off, but it is just a short tram ride away. Doors could not be closed without a slam. They were too big for the frame (?)
quiet localization, wifi was ok. ask in the reception for good bistro nearby :)
maybe we were late but for breakfast (except tea and coffe) there was only bread and jam
helpful staff - able to answer any questions and help with special requirements (power adapter) communication in english ok no problem to check in already at 10 good, tidy and quiet place, easy to get to the center nice outside kitchen under the roof - can cook ping pong table
little bit noisy (next to the bathroom, able to hear everything) breakfast poor, just bread with butter and jam slow wifi (especially in the third floor) living in the third floor - no elevator just cold water in the evening!!
There was a great leisure program. The people were so nice and the center was very easy to reach.
Tent camping option, beautiful park next door.
Good hostel, Very nice staff. Reception is open round the clock. Wifi connected and worked well. Clean, separated bathrooms. Overall really nice
Rooms and bathrooms were clean and staff was friendly and helpful.
You expect youth hostels to be at the city center. On the other hand there is a tram line nearby (cost 10 kn on way). But the WiFi connection is very poor.
helpful staff (we had asked for at least one longer bed and got a doublebed plus another singlebed instead), friendly atmosphere, common kitchen, good connection to the centre by 24-hour running tram
breakfast (just jam and butter with bread + coffee and tea)
Staff, Rooms and facilities
Myself and a friend stayed the night here before we flew to dubrovnik. The hostel isn't to Central but that didn't worry us. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast which was part of our room charge.
Cannot close the doors without slamming them, hence we didn't sleep well with others closing doors. The thicker fleece blankets looked like they hadn't been washed...
I loved this hostel! The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and incredibly helpful. The location is a bit outside of the city center, but it was incredibly easy and quick to get to,the city center (as well as bus station and train station) using the team.
Poor wi-fi on the 2nd floor
Good price per value.
Fantastic kitchens, clean rooms and bathrooms. Easy to get to by tram.
Wifi didn't work in rooms. Staff not incredibly helpful.
I liked the cleanliness of the room, the cleanliness of the kitchen, the cleanliness of the bathroom and toilet, the good attitude of the stuff, the pretty yard. The bed was comfortable.
Internet was not always available, there is no mirror in the room.
The bed was very big and comfortable. The bathroom was very warm and clean. Wifi worked perfectly. It's a hostel, so don't cound on much service - when you arrive, the receptionist gives you bed sheets that you put on the bed yourself, and in the morning you take them off and leave in a special box. The parking is just a space on the street by the building. The building itself isn't very easy to find.
The receptionist charged us 2 euros more for the room than the price we booked on booking.com. There's a coffee vending machine at the reception but it accepts only local currency, thoug for the room you can pay in euros. We left at 6 am, the reception starts working at 8am. Until that time there's no possibility to change money and have a cup of coffee.
Very friendly staff - not so many hostels have this nowadays... Quiet and green neighbourhood. Not far from the tram station. The room was comfortable.
Wifi was not perfect. It was just going off from time to time.
