Red & Black Apartment offers accommodation in the center of Zagreb Lower Town, 500 meters from the pedestrian zone and 750 meters from Main Square, 5 minutes walk away from The Main Railway Station, 5 tram station from Zagreb bus terminal and bus shuttle to Zagreb Airport. The most important cultural and historical sights of the city (National Theatre, Mimara Museum, Museum of arts and crafts, The Cathedral, Funicular, the Botanical Gardens, Park Zrinjevac), restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, and grocery stores can all be reached in just a short walk. The air-conditioned unit, located in the courtyard building is protected from noise and traffic. The fully equipped kitchen, rooms with 4 solid beds, towels and bed linen are featured in this self-catering accommodation. And like Anna, one of the guests from Kanada said: "Apartment is an absolute gem. The apartment is beautiful, soundproof, well air-conditioned (air con in the living room and a separate one in the bedroom) and in a great location. We discovered that the best independent cafe in Zagreb is in the courtyard of the building (they roast their own coffee) so prepare to be well-caffeinated."
I'm a professor of Comparative Literature and Indologist. A member of the world's largest organization for women, Soroptimist International of Europe, Club Zagreb. I was a cultural manager by profession. I always loved to travel, to know new places, but primarily people. Now after I have retired my guests are my window to the world because, through the guests who come to me, I'm again in contact with different cultures and different customs. Their diversity enriches my being and with each new guest, I become richer. While designing my apartment, the guiding principle for me was that it should be their second home during their stay in Zagreb, to make them feel safe and welcome. And finally, my days are made happy by my granddaughter Hana.
The restaurant PITHOS known for homemade food and pies is in the very building. If you are too tired and exhausted to prepare your morning coffee, you can go to the iconic "Cafe in the yard" which is in the courtyard. A minute walk from the apartment, on the park&square Petar Svačić is a sculpture of our famous sculptor Antun Augustinčić known as the "Boy who pees", our Mannequin-pees, equally beautiful but not as known as the one from Brussels. The Main Railway Station is 5 minute walk away and Main Bus Terminal is 3 tram stations far away. In the very neighborhood are also Croatian National Theater, The well of life, Museum of Arts and Crafts, The Botanical Gardens, Music Academy, Museum Mimara, Ethnografic Museum, Central park Zrinjevac, Flower square ( P. Preradović square) with shopping mall, Zagreb's main square (Ban Jelacic square) with the pedestrian zone, the Cathedral, St.Mark's church, Zagreb City Museum, Museum of Broken Relationships, Funicular, Museum of illusion. Famous restaurants and pizzerias, bars, wine cellars and pubs are in the very neighborhood. The tram and taxi stations are on the Central Train Station and at the Ban Jelacic square.
