What a wonderful place! St. Lukes is a one of a kind as is it's owner, Niksa....a native dalmation! Everything that the previous reviews stated were exactly right. The location is perfect just far enough away from the noise of the vibrant town center but close enough for a leisurely two minute stroll. The views are breathtaking and our host a gem. Thanks Niksa for all the extra's. You helped to make our stay unforgettable Kate and Rudy from Virginia, USA

The house was historically interesting, beautifully renovated, and immaculately maintained. It is ideally situated for the historic heart of Split. Best of all the owner and host Nikca is a marvellous person who can't do enough for his guests - it was a pleasure to meet him. The location is difficult for car access but that is not a criticism. The whole of the historic centre is difficult for car access. The owner was at considerable pains to help us out in this respect.

The location is stunning, just off the waterfront in the old quarter of the city. The host Niksa made us feel very much at home. The boutique style accommodation means that you only have a handful of other guests around and there is a fabulous ground floor dining, lounge kitchen area with all the creature comforts one could ask for, including fresh fruit, coffee machine, computer and fruit juice to make the stay a pleasure. Its about two minutes from some of the best restaurants around like Sperun and Buffet Fife, a Split Institution. Niksa even upgraded us to the Penthouse which was vacant at the time. The rooftop deck has the most amazing views over the city and harbour. The rooms on the second level where we stayed were compact though well appointed (Rooms 3&4). The ones on the first level, rooms 1 and 2 have much more floor space.

The owner Niksa is a fantastic host: he is very friendly and he makes us a very warm welcome. The house is wonderful restored. From the rooms and the terrace you have a marvelous look over the city and the harbour, really great! It is just a few minutes by feet to the old city, the riva and the green market. Also good restaurants, a bakery and markets are near by. The house has a nice lounge for all guest and Niksa offers there for free tea, coffee, fruits and cakes-wonderful!The owner can tell you everything about the town and he is very very charming. If you have a quesrion, you can ask him every time. For us, this owner makes our journey unforgettable!!

Very positive experience. Is in good quiet location, although as previous reviews state, it can be difficult to find. However I get the impression, the owner is attentive if he knows your arrival time and he keeps an eye out for his guests. Room was comfortable and window opened out to nice view. Also the shared outside terrace is a nice addition and is lovely and sunny in morning. Location is a few minutes walk from palace and main sights while maintaining neighbourhood experience. There were extras included, for example our host provided a good supply of fresh fruit, the use of.kitchen area and tea, coffee and other drinks. The owner was kind and welcoming and eager that guests enjoy their experience.

We were utterly impressed with our apartment which was beautiful, from the memory foam beds to the murano glass light fittings and the handpainted ceramic door handles, it was the best place we stayed in the whole of our trip around Europe. Nicsa is a fantastic host who is proud of his refurbished fisherman's house. He has thought of every comfort for travellers having been a traveller himself, He met us on the street after keeping in touch by text prior to our arrival. He upgraded us from room to apartment at no extra charge.. ( it was winter and there were no other guests) it was like a dream come true. The apartment was minimal, clean and tasteful with a rooftop patio for afternoon wines looking over Split. It is 2 minutes walk to the Riva which is incredible, but so quiet at night. Nicsa even drove us to the airport at the end of our stay which we didn't expect.. I would make a beeline for St Luke Residence if I was ever to go to Split again, Nicsa you are a legend! Dont change a thing.

St Luke's Residence is a 10 plus. It is located in a quiet neighborhood near many of Split's top restaurants, Diocletian's Palace, and the ferry dock. A grocery store and a laundry are within easy walking distance, too. St. Luke's is 300 hundred year old building that has been modernized with love to a state of perfection, beginning with a warm, inviting gathering room on the first floor. The upper deck, which is part of the apartment, has privacy and a view beyond compare. The owner, Niksa, has addressed a traveler's every need with luxury furnishings and accessories throughout. When you stay here, Niksa makes you feel like you have a special relative in Split.

Great for chatterboxes ! The shared balcony / terrace is great for sitting out on in the evening and chinwagging with the other guests. Niksa the owner is fantastic. A chatterbox on a different level. Told us some great locations and a great restaurant (one of the few in Croatia that were good), which was just around the corner ! Loved it and would highly recommend !

It was amazing in every aspect. The Residence is beautifully renovated with the finest detail. The location is perfect for someone who enjoys experiencing a true neighborhood. Yet it is a short walk to all the must see tourist highlights in Split. The owner is charming and accommodating. Upon arrival the table was laid out with fresh fruit and cookies and we had fresh brewed coffee and tea available for the entire stay. I reserved 4 of the 5 rooms in the Residence so I was given the key to the place and it was like having my own home. There was nothing I would have changed except to have stayed longer.

My partner and I stayed 4 nights at St Lukes Residence and what we enjoyed the most was the hospitality of Niksa. He was welcoming, funny, genuine and very happy to please. The apartment was very close to all emenities. It was extremely clean, well presented and very quiet at night even though you are situated close to the main town. Very highly recommend, we would return again. No dislikes, other than having to leave..boohoo

The owner was extremely nice and very talkative in most languages. He offered us beer, wine or shots when we arrived. It has a common area with free fruits, coffee, etc which is available to guest. The free internet service at this small b&b was the best of any hotel that we stayed at in 11 different hotels in Europe. There is a router on every floor, which considering the thickness of the stone walls was a good idea. The bathroom hardware were very modern and the air conditioner was 1st rate. The bed was big and very comfortable! We wish we could have stayed longer. We will stay at this b&b the next time we are in Split. Also this is a very safe town. We stayed at a different hotel in Split earlier in our trip, so we found this b&b before we stayed here. I suggest getting directions, it is a little hard to find. The room was a little small, but this is typical of European hotels. The stairs might be a challenge for some, but your host will gladly carry your bags up to your room, if you wanted.

The innkeeper at St Luke Residence, Niksa, was extremely accomodating and helpful throughout our stay. He has put a lot of work into making the common area and rooms into a very well appointed package. Plus, he supplied us with pastries and juices all day long whenever we felt like having them. The location is excellent, just outside of the main areas of interest in Split. We really liked this.

We loved St Luke Residence! It was one of the best places we stayed at on our two week trip. The bathroom had a beautiful shower. The owner is extremely hospitable and has a lovely area set up for his guests to use where he provides fresh fruit, juices and hot beverages all day. The house is in a perfect location, a two minute walk to the Riva, yet very quiet. There are many good restaurants in the area as well as car rental agencies, groceries, etc. We would highly recommend a stay here!

The residence was exceptional & exceeded our expectations. The owner / host was very welcoming, approachable, friendly & more than helpful. The communial kitchen / living area was just as gorgeous as our bedroom & the free freshfruit along with drink facilities were a pleasant surprise. We would love to stay at St. Luke's again & would highly recommend this residence for those wanting a very comfortable, personal & private stay in Split.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was sparse but reasonable size. The bathroom was also new and clean. There was also a very new and very cold aircon unit which came in handy!! There is a great coffee machine which the manager recommends you use and he also leaves out fruit for you everyday. He is very friendly and extremely chatty and a bit of a character but might be a bit too much for the quieter guest. There was also a small balcony you could use that was a nice touch Would have been better if the downstairs area was available to guests all the time not only when the owner is there. Also would have preferred to pay by card rather than cash as then I had no cash left for the holiday so had to go get more. He also likes Euros so dont change from euros for Kuna. Finally the actual area where the appartement is based is quite rundown / rustic but we didnt mind this and it was only a very short walk to town.

Lovely place. We stayed at the end of a 10 day holiday traveling around Croatia and it was the best room we had. Goregeous house with 4 rooms and one appartment. You have use of the kitchen with lots of fruit, tea, coffee, milk and fruit juice for everyone to help themselves. The owner greets you himself and obviously takes great pride in his hotel/house. Very laid back and design lead rooms. With memory foam mattresses and pillow as well as state of the art air con - its bliss, we wish we had stayed there more than one night and will def go back.
