Beautifully positioned one-bedroom apartment and welcoming and thoughtful owners (living just above apartment, so easy to access/contact on arrival. Highly recommended for its stunning views across the bay to Lokrum island and the many small (and some larger) boats coming and going in view all day long. Definitely the best side/area of Dubrovnik to be in. Good balcony runs along length of the apartment from both bedroom and living/kitchen area. Just 10-minute slight downhill walk to city gate, views all the way, and just a little longer coming back upwards but no steps. A great bakery + two small supermarkets en route to old town centre by old town gate = an easily manageable morning walk to get fresh bread for an 'al fresco' breakfast on the apartment’s balcony.
Everything was perfect!
The apartment is cosy and comfortable, within 10 minutes easy downhill walk to the Ploce gate of the old city, and has lovely views of the sea and the island beyond from the balcony where you can sit to breakfast or relax. Tea and coffee making facilities are available, and you can buy supplies at the supermarket down the road to prepare breakfast or cook a meal in the kitchen. Although the bedroom is not air-conditioned, we found that we slept comfortably in the hot weather by leaving the air-conditioner on in the living room. Hostess Helena was very welcoming. She allowed us to leave our bags at the apartment after checkout prior to going to the airport and was most helpful with taxi arrangements (especially when flooding rain made travel more difficult).
We only stayed one night, but we loved the location, on the high side with an excellent view over the water and a 7 to 8 minute walk to the old city. The apartment was spotless and good value, it is Dubrovnik and it is an expensive location for Croatia. The owner was very helpful and even carried one of our cases down the steps to the road. We would definitely stay here again.
The bed could have been a little more supportive.
Friendly and helpful property owner
Lots of stairs
Elanor the proprietor, made us feel most welcome & enhanced our first time holiday in Dubrovnik, so much so we would not look to stay anywhere else should we return. The apartments were in an ideal location for us, the view over Lockrum Island & uninterrupted out to sea was so beautiful, also convenient for local shops by the main gate of the old city, & buses & taxi's.
We had read slight negatives about the property, it is a few fights of stairs to get up to from the road, & could be hard if your not too good on your feet, but for us this was easily forgotten, when you get a cold drink & sit on the balcony, & enjoy the view & sunset.
perfect location, friendly staff,unforgettable view
Lovely family run apartment. Very comfortable and lovely hosts.
The lady who owns the property was very friendly and helpful. The room was a reasonable size and the balcony was huge with fantastic views over the sea and to Dubrovnik. Air Con seemed brand new and was great. Property was only a 10 minute walk into Dubrovnik which was great.
Lots and lots of stairs to property from the road, no good if you are infirm.
Our friendly hostess didn't speak much English, but she was very hospitable, even offering us drinks and cookies upon our arrival and each afternoon. The view from our large balcony over the Adriatic Sea was amazing! The apartment was located very conveniently just 10 minutes walk from the gate of Durbrovnik's old town and about 6 minutes from the beach. We were able to find a free parking space right in front of the apartment.
While the apartment was sparklingly clean, it smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, which was unpleasant for us nonsmokers.
Owners were very helpful and could not do enough for us. We enjoyed our stay
Facilities a little tired and worn. Otherwise good value foe the money.
The host was most friendly and helpful in accessing parking. Very hospitable.
Can't think of a thing.
Loved the view from the balcony. Cannot be faulted. 15 minute walk from Dubrovnik away from hustle and bustle. Owner is lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Provided us with basics, bread, milk, butter, cheese, ham. Plus delicious homemade marmalade. We were even given a pot to bring home.
Apartment extremely dated. Most lighting is spot lights so not too cosy!! Bed very creeky, no mattress protector. Slept poorly. Sofa very old and uncomfortable. However this is all forgiven for the view.
We stayed here in the one bed apartment for 5 nights at the end of October. This apartment is amazing value for money in a fantastic location with spectacular views. Upon arrival the owner offered us a warm welcome and supplied us with coffee, milk, fruit from her own garden and 2 much appreciated cold beers. The apartment is clean and well equipped with a definite retro feel. It is a scenic 5 min walk to Dubrovnik historic centre and we honestly could not fault this place. If you are looking for a contemporary stainless steel soulless generic apartment then this is not the place for you!!! However if you are looking for character, comfort, friendliness and amazing balcony views then look no further.
have to plan showers as the water tank is small and therefore need to leave time between each one - but this is a minor point
I will stay here again when I visit. The hostess is lovely & accommodating. The room gets lots of natural light and the balcony is picturesque. Location is fab. If you book any day trips the hotel they collect from is a min away. There is a fridge.
The location was excellent we did not need to use public transport, within easy walking distance to old town & cable car. The view from the balcony was beautiful, was lovely to sit out there. The owner was very friendly & made us feel very welcome. The furniture is a little dated but comfy. The apartment had everything we needed for a 4 night stay. If we came to dubrovnik again we not stay anywhere else
There was no sign saying sv jakov apartments so we were a little confused when we arrived
