Close to the city, public transport is just a short walk. The restaurant was very good. The harbour was a short walk, just a great town
The rooms were modern and spacious. Had a lovely view . Hotel was very clean. The staff were lovely. Good breakfast and dinner buffet.
Quite isolated, had to get the bus into the main city and it took about 15 minutes, there are other hotels in the complex but everywhere was quite dead - possibly due to the time of year. Lack of places to eat for lunch - I was limited to burgers, toasted sandwiches or slices of cake, had to go the city centre to get something nice to eat. Even a vending machine would have been appreciated. No tea/coffee making facilities in room, I really missed this. The room was very cold, I used extra blankets and pillows, there were no radiators.
We really liked the possibility to use the services, beaches, bars etc of all Valamar hotels nearby. Good pool. Great breakfast and dinner
Noisy rooms and really noisy restaurant.
Pool area was nice. Breakfast was good.
The room was cold and wet and had mold. The smell was bad. Very difficult to reach the room as there were many long corridors around. The hotel should be renovated.
Good value for money, great location, excellent staff, wifi in rooms.
Friendly helpful staff. Excellent food. Great location.
The first two nights were spoilt by noise from a local restaurant with loud singing until 2am. Wafer thin walls meant we could hear snoring in the adjacent bedroom! Hard beds and soft pillows meant an uncomfortable night's sleep. Shame as everything else on our stay was spot on.
especially satisfied with the location and the food。
Unfriendly desk staff very off hand
location, food, bus service
problem with soap, you have to bring your.
I can honestly recommend it! This hotel is renovated , they did everything to forget about the socialistic architetcure...now it has a good atmosphere. At the reception staff was always kind and helpful. Rooms are simple, easy furnished, but very clean, bathroom new and also very clean. In the bathrom they are giving shower gel and soap but no vanity kit. The room was made up every day. Flat screen tv, safe, hairdryrer, aircondition are in the room. Great location, beautyful view. A bit far from old town, but it was not a problem, next to hotel is the bus stop and by bus nr6. In 15-20 mins you can get to the city center. During daytime bus can be very crowded sometimes. You can buy your bustickets on the bus but i reccomend to buy it in a ticket office, much faster. Beach is in 3-5 mins walking distance. Calmy and very clean. Behind the hotel small street with shops. The best in the hotel is the FOOD, its really GREAT! Delicious breakfast and dinner, a lots of things to eat! If you come from the airport get a return ticket at the airport for shuttlebus service. Get off from the bus at old town station and take the bus nr6. It will take you till the hotel.( Taxi service is very expensive.)
No beachtowel. On the beach for the hotelguests the sunbeds and umbrellas are not free. (At least they could make a deal...if you drink sg in the beach bar you could get them free.)
The hotel is great value, lovely pool, pool side food is reasonably priced and swim up bar is great. Rooms are very comfortable but awkward to get to, there are a lot of corridors. Bus stop right outside the door to get to the Old Town.
The pool bar closes at 7pm which is quite early. Also cannot get any bar food after this time which was disappointing. There are not many places to eat around the area which means you must really go to the Old Town for dinner/drinks.
reception deduct sum of money from vise during check in rather than the money of booking which is bad thing
Everything was excellent!
Location, food, good bus service.
Location and breakfast. Clean swimming pool
Almost no wifi signal in room.
Service was ok
Location is far from old town, you waist time just getting there
We stayed in Dubrovnik for 4 nights. The first night we had a hotel close to the old town, so we could fully enjoy the sights there. The other 3 nights, we stayed in Tirena as a nice relaxing close to our holidays. It turned out to be a great choice. Travel between the old center and Tirena is very easy. The bus stop is 1 min walking away from the hotel and the bus comes every 10 minutes. The room itself was excellent, with a nice balcony and a big bedroom. We had very nice bed an even a fully stocked mini bar. Our two favorite things were the swimming pool and the restaurant (we had half board package). The swimming pool is awesome. Clean, lots of space around with sun chairs and a great swim-in bar. We spend our entire last day here, just enjoying the sunshine. The restaurant is fantastic. I am never really a fan of "all-in" hotel, but I loved the food at Tirena. Both the breakfast buffet and the dinner buffer offer a HUGE amount of choice, and pretty much every single item is excellent (I would know, I almost tried them all). I also felt that the choice was not at all repetitive, every day almost all dishes changed for dinner. Of course for breakfast a lot of options are the same, but this would be the same for pretty much every hotel. Big compliments for the staff in the restaurant as well, they did a great job and were very hard working.
After all the positives, I also have a few complaints, which are all relating to the front desk. Prior to my arrival I tried both e-mail and calling Tirena several times with some further questions. I wasn't able to get in touch with anyone. Upon arrival the staff at the main desk seemed poorly informed. I asked two staff members what the opening times for the pool were, both giving different answers. In the end it turned out that the actual opening times were different to both answers! On the last day we wanted to have an ironing board to iron one t-shirt for our trip home. We were informed that there were no irons available at all, but housekeeping would come to collect to T-shirt to iron it. Great you would think, only upon check out we were informed that there was a 7,5 Kuna fee for this, of which no one informed us. Again, that was for 1 t-shirt. The good thing is that this was really the only negative experience we had at Tirena, and with some sharper training this should be easy to solve.
The hotel stands on quiet area we can be by car. There are pools, nice breakfast&dinner buffe, a lot of family rooms, then the hotel is very nice for everyone, espescialy family with small children.
Convenient for the old town and lapad. Right next to lacroma and president hotels whose facilities you can use. Good breakfast choice.
Swimming pool, good breakfast.
Annoying smell in the room (the wiindow has to be largely opened from time to time).
I liked everything. Starting with polite and friendly staff, great food and excellent room with a pool view.
Hotel was excellent, the service was second to none and was great value for money
The rooms are small and basic
Rooms are a good size with air - con although a little dated. The service and food is better than any other 3 star I've stayed in. We were half board definitely worth it. Great breakfast and good choice at dinner every night. Dinner there's lots of choice grilled meats, fish, pasta, pizza, salad and vegetables. Pool area lovely with swim up bar. Catch the number 6 bus into the old town takes about 15 minutes runs very regularly. Great choice will be returning! !
Pool, good connection to old town with bus. Cleanliness.
Drinks at the pool were just alcohol and juice. Room doors are old, too much sound from hall. Dinner was quite expensive comparing quality.
