Very nice hotel in a complex with other hotels, some restaurants and shops. Seems to be more for elderly couples travelling in organised groups but that may be the time of year we went (October). Well serviced by bus into town. Breakfast is fine. Staff are very helpful. Would recommend this hotel.

Room was modern and very clean. Buffet breakfast and dinner was reasonable and fresh. Staff were friendly and the pool area was fantastic. Pretty sure booking.com mentioned free WiFi here but this was not the case.

Excellent value for money - big, comfy and clean rooms, 4-star level bathrooms, excellent breakfast and staff. Location is on great because I could not stand to be in the jammed city on 40 degrees celsius. There is nothing I did not like about this hotel. The only thing that could creat problems for some people is that the resort is huge and the hallways are like a labyrint so it can take a while before you learn how to get to your room!

Nice pool area and very good breakfast. Frequent bus into Dubrovnik. Close to beach and only a short walk to the Lapad beach/restaurant area. Very friendly staff. Manager Josip and his team made our stay very pleasant. We got free Internet the whole stay and shuttle service from and to the airport. Internet is weak. WiFi only covering reception area and normally charged by the hour. But as special treat from the staff we were given free Internet the whole stay! - thanks! We would prefer a refridgerator in the rooms instead of the minibar. Also a strong box in the room to safe keep stuff like laptop, cameras, money etc would be nice.

Good location to the sea, however it is a little bit remote for walking to the old town, but excellent with public transport. Nice hospitality, excellent english communication. Tiny internal communication problem caused "almost" problem with the transport, but the hotel solved quickly.

Location is wonderful. Facilities are very good.Grounds are arttractive & well maintained. The star of this holiday is the island itself. Details about the wildlife, the flora & fauna both marine & terrestrial would add immeasurably to this holiday. The buffet food was varied & well presented. Wait staff were attentive & efficient. Staying in the villas was unusual. The views from our room were stunning both by day & at night. I would not like my room to face the hill. Noise levels were very low even on musical evenings. Free internet access is a huge bonus as were the DVDs available. We ( 57 yr old mother & 21 yr old daughter) absolutely loved the absence of noise, electronic devices, nightclub, jetskis etc). Staying in early June was so relaxing & quiet. I don't think hotel guests should have to pay for beds, cushions or parasols on the beach. It seemed to be completely random when, where or whether the operator collected the money. I asked at reception for any information on the history and flora & fauna but nothing was available nor did the receptionists seem to have any knowledge. The brief notes on the wonderful walking routes could be much improved. We had payed online but were handed a bill upon checkout & had to wait while the situation was verified.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Tirena. The Hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly. The Hotel was immaculately clean and our room was very comfortable. The breakfast and evening buffet were superb. There was so much choice and the food was fantastic. The hotel is in a lovely location. Not far from the beach. The old town of Dubrovnik is very easily accessible from the hotel. When you walk to hotel exit the bus shelter is directly in front of you and the number 6 is very regular and brings you directly to old town. We would highly recommend this Hotel.

Hotel was value for money. Staff were friendly enough whenever there was a problem. Pool facilities were okay. Rooms were small enough. Entertainment at night time needs to be improved. A lot of mature couples/groups staying in the hotel. Had to change room after one night but staff sorted it out pretty quickly and we were very happy with our second room. Hotel far from old city, not just 10 minute bus journey as advertised in the brochures/online.

Although the Tirena is 3-star it is spotlessly clean and in a great location. It's only a few minutes walk to the copacabana beach and there's a regular bus service to the old town which stops right outside. The only negative thing I can think of is that the pool was Freezing! That wouldn't stop me going back though.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tirena. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was more than decent and our room was great. Also, the Internet was free. I can't say I didn't really like the location, as the hotel is within a 2 minute walk from a nice beach but you really need to take bus no. 6 to the old city, it's a 15 min ride. We walked on our first day and it was a pretty long walk.

Very nice breakfast with lots of choice, great poolbar for snacks. The pool was lovely and enough chairs/ room for sunbading. Good busconnection between the old city and the hotel because the hotel is far from the city but near the centre of Lapad. So on its own also a nice area to walk, for example to the beach (stones, no sand). Clean hotel. You can participate the evening buffet for a small extra charge. Some of the staff were less friendly. No gym.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The swimming pool and beach were both great. The food was not great but it was good, honest cooking, good variety in the buffet and value for money. The singer who was at the pool party dinner was fantastic and he had beautiful voice - a bonus. No ambience to this concrete box. The architect should be very apologetic for the lack of imagination in the design. The main dining area is large and , catering for the masses. It was bit far from the old town and although the public bus service was quite regular, the busses were not air-conditioned and it was stifling.

The personnal is professional, the hotel is clean, the food is excellent and buffet breakfast includes large selection of dishes. The location is great: in a peaceful area, not far from the old city and the beach neaby. Parking is a bit far from the hotel. When you have breakfast or lunch at the terrasse, cats beg for food.

Great location, four beaches in walking distance (inc. Lapad beach, nice walking path along the sea 10 min). Number 6 bus takes 10-20 minutes to old town and was always on time. Though very crowded especially in evening on its way back. Tour desk, where you can get i.e. Dubrovnik card, at the hotel. Shopping centre with restaurants, cafes and minimarkets right next to the hotel. Very comfortable and functional room, bed great even for our bad backs. AC conveniently not too efficient. Very good breakfast and buffet dinner. The pool was open only till 6 pm, should be open later. Breakfast could be served till later on weekends (ends at 10 every day). Shower water pressure was non-existent.

Very nice swimming pool, no problems with sun beds - any time of a day you can get free sunbed (no towels on beds put at 7 am to book the space), Very nice evening barbecue on Wednesdays, clean, well equiped rooms with A/C individually regulated in each room. Easy access to Old Town of Dubrovnik by bus (bus stop located in a short walk distance form the hotel). No sea wiev from the hotel area at all (not really minus, but would be nice to have the sea view from bar terrace at last).
