Hotel Uvala Dubrovnik is situated on a quiet spot on Dubrovnik's Lapad peninsula, only a short bus ride from the old town. The Uvala hotel is situated in the Lapad bay close to a nice beach, 10 minutes by car from the historic quarter of Dubrovnik or 40 minutes by foot. The bus stop is also right in front of the hotel. The area is dominated by the clear blue sea and shady, green pine forests. A spirit of well-being is present throughout the Uvala hotel - from the beautifully designed, non-smoking rooms and the excellent spa facilities to the macrobiotic menu offered at the Mantala restaurant. A diverse selection of meat, fish and macrobiotic dishes is served, accompanied by a fine selection of superior domestic wines. From the summer terrace there are magnificent views over the Lapad bay and the Elafiti archipelago. The Rozolin Bar is an inviting place to sip a cocktail in the afternoon or enjoy your coffee in the morning. Uvala's health club and spa features a steam bath, various saunas and a massage center. After relaxing in the sauna, you can cool off in the hotel's indoor or seasonal outdoor pool. The Uvala hotel also features 2 conference rooms for up to 50 people. Hotel Rooms: 51, Hotel Chain: Hoteli Maestral.

Good location with excellent sea views from the balcony on the fourth floor. Bus stop outside to go into Dubrovnik ( 15 min journey ) and every 15 mins. Excellent range of restaurants and shops at Labad Beach, 5 minutes walk away. Food in the hotel could be better but was not bad! and it is quite expensive for what you get, we ate out every night.

Excellent location with a balcony overlooking the cove (which Uvala means, apparently) and the bus into Dubrovnik just outside the door. Helpful, friendly and efficient staff.

We had a clean, comfortable room with a seaside view. The bus into the old city stops nearby, so we could head into town and then quickly escape the crowds with a short bus ride. We were able to walk to dinner both nights of our stay as there are numerous places to eat nearby. The staff was friendly and helpful and let us borrow some towels for our short trip down the hill to the beach. Breakfast was nice with a good variety of selections. Overall we had a very nice stay.

The staff were the best of any hotel I have stayed in throughout the world; not in an "American", professionally- sycophantic way....... Just genuine friendly helpfulness. They made every day pleasant. The massage I enjoyed in the spa was the best I have experienced. Thank you, all.

A very nice location with a view of the water. One could walk to the old town or take a city bus which stopped in front of the hotel. The breakfast was good and the pool area was pleasant. The hot tub water temperature was not hot enough.

We had a room at the front on the 4th floor with a good size balcony and view overlooking the bay, which was certainly worth the extra. The room and bathroom/shower were of a good size and standard, and were kept very clean. We enjoyed the food - dinner is a buffet with a wide selection of regional dishes, and while a few may not have been to our taste, there was such a wide choice that we could always select a very good meal and at €10 it was excellent value. Breakfast is a good buffet selection. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. There is a bus outside the hotel every 20 minutes to the old town (15 minute journey) - we bought the 7-day Dubrovnik card, good value as it includes 20 bus trips and entry fees to many (but not all) attractions in Dubrovnik. We used the free wi-fi (on the ground floor) - to use the hotel's computer would not have been free. The outdoor pool was too cold for us to use, and the indoor pool was rather cool.

Hotel staff was amazing! Same and very minimum breakfast selection for 11 days. Non smoking room smelled very bad, this is obviously not 4 star hotel! I would say 3 the most.

Good location, nice view (sea view rooms), breakfast OK (I believe standard in Croatia). Rooms ok, not luxury. From hotel to sea not more that 150m down (not sandy beach). Bus stop at the front of hotel so easy to go to old town. Near the hotel lot of restaurants. I would say value for money - not luxury but not poor.Compare location of some other hotels Uvala is at least OK. Ladies liked the wellness services as well. Some kind of strange smell in our room (not in our friends room). Breakfast staff bit too busy to collect things away at the end of breakfast. WiFi only available in area of reception (not in rooms).

Staff were nice. The door in our shower was broken. We had to contact reception a few times. The bedroom was very very basic considering this hotel is rated 4 star.

Friendly staff, great value for money at the welness center. The breakfast buffet is excellent! The view from the balconies in the rooms is amazing! The rooms themselves could do with a little bit more styling. Major minus is that there is only wifi in the lobby. I really think a hotel of this price should have wifi in the rooms. The fitness room would benefit from proper airconditioning.

The hotel married the beach, pool experience and the close proximity to Dubrovnik old town perfectly for my daughter and myself. The staff were very helpful and friendly at all times. The hotel has lovely views over the Adriatic and the mountains, is modern with two pools, a spa and the beach can be reached easily through their sister hotel across the road from the Uvala. The bus stop to Dubrovnik is two mins from the hotel and takes you to the old town and back in approximately 10 mins and is very reasonably priced for a return ticket. There are plenty of restaurants close by, all a nice walking distance, if you don't want to go into the old town. It was a lucky, having never been to Croatia before, but a very lovely choice of hotel and I would recommend it to adults and older families in particular.

The view---absolutely gorgeous. Also very convenient to the bus stop. Room was dirty, carpet looked bleached and old, dust everywhere in the room. Crap tv and the claims of wireless internet were false.

Nice view on the sea. Good breakfast. City beach just accros the street. Size of the room. Bus to the old town just in front of the hotel. Hotel has very poor ventilation on corridors and in room. (Strange smell like in basement all over, stuffy). Air condition is not any help, only open windows. We did not have internet in our room, and they couldn't fix it for 3 days. We asked for a discount but the answer was "no". Service not like in 4 * hotel. Some prices in restaurant higher than at old town (greek salad 60 kuna), but quality lower.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Good location away from the old city and right on a bus line. Nice to have a spa on site. Coffee machine needs cleaning!!! The coffee tasted burnt each morning. And it would be really nice to have the wifi work where it is supposed to -- I could never get a connection on the 1st floor -- and to have the high-speed line connection in the room work. No one managed to get the repair-person to come to fix it during the days I was there -- and as I was leaving I heard another guest request to have his fixed in his room.
