“ The staff was very caring, making sure we have booked the taxi to go to the bus stop. It is a walking distance to the town centre. People helpful and friendly. Amazing seafood in Pula! We checked out very early in the morning, so the hotel packed a take away breakfast ;) Recommend 100%! Loads of channels on the tv, in croatian and in english! ”

We stayed there for one day. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was big, clean and comfortable. City center is only 10 minutes walk. Although friendly and helpful, the staff didn't speak much English and so communicating other than check in, check out and gesturing was an issue. The breakfast was cold (literally too) and basic. Again, the staff in breakfast bar though spoke no English at all, tried to be helpful.

Big room with comfortable bed. Bathroom with shower was good. No airconditioning and no fan, so it was very hot inside the room. Busy road next to the hotel so you can hear traffic noises when you're in the room.

Clean, spacious , cheap I didnt like the fact that I could not check out with my credit card after 7pm. And was not told about this on arrival. There is a sign , but you won't notice it unless its shown to you. As my flight was at 6am, the hotel manager or rep advised me to go to a cash point and withdraw the money at 4am. Obviously not pleasant but had to be done.

Room was clean, good TV programs, good breakfast. We arrived during nighttime and rain - and have to say - both the location and the hotel itself was scary :-) Building is a 100 year old Navy headquarters and looks very menacing. In the morning everything was fine :-)

It was fine. Staff was not particularly friendly or helpful. Long walk from town. But clean & good for price. I suggest renting an apartment in Pula rather than trying to get a hotel

We had a great stay and were very pleased that we could upgrade to a suite. Lthough it was a budget hotel the suite was large and comortable. The staff were extremely friendly, there was ample parking (a must for Pula in August). Its was an easy walik to the old town and amphitheatre but happily in a quite area. A good place to stay, inexpensive, good location, easy to find and quiet. It was busy and hot in the town and the hotel was full so airconditioning in the breakfast room would have been nice.

The staff tried so hard and were great. The location is excellent - close enough to walk to beach or town- or bus is only 1 euro. Great value - it has a low star rating and this should be consideted in relation to facilities. We were very happy. No aircon or fan in room

Having travelled in the Soviet Union when the country still existed Veli Joze was a blast from the past, with the exception that Veli Joze was of the standard that the old Russian hotels claimed to be but never were. Staff were nice, the hotel was clean, breakfast was great, a/c worked well, tv had 200 channels, our room was totally massive, might have been bigger than my flat, with something like 4 meter ceilings. If this hotel were in Berlin or Warsaw it might be wise to preserve it as a monument to communist hospitality but in Pula I don't know what to do, maybe change the curtains. I liked the hotel, it was good, and I recommend it, but at the same time it was eerie (creaking floorboards and all). I also recommend that experience.

A very nice building from the Austrian era. Situated in the city but a good twenty-minute walk from the city centre. Nice overall and good value!

Nice staff, ok location and clean. I can recommend this place. Only complaint is the lack of air coinditioning which makes rooms agonisingly hot during warm nights.

Even though staff didn't speak much English they were always trying to find a way to communicate and help. The hotel is not in the city centre but you can reach the centre in 10 minutes walking! And not that far from beach either. No hair dryer available.

I like the location: the same distance to beaches and to the old city. The problem was with air condition system: it collapsed after 4 hours of working. we asked for service but it needed the break in the mid of the night for some minutes: it made sounds and the water dropped inside the room. Another big problem - no WiFi!! it is very important in modern connection, but you can have only in breakfast time in this hotel... I hope they will have the system soon

Friendly staff. We left very early in the morning and the staff gave us a packed breakfast. The hotel is located near the industrial zone. At night, there was a constant noise and we slept badly. The fact that there is no air-conditioner was understandable. The room was not even a fan - it was very stuffy. For the two stars a little pricey.

Relaxed and helpful personel, hotel situated in a quiet part of town, good breakfast despite several previous guests claiming otherwise, nice old building which was renovated and refurnished, a good example of Austrian architecture from the 19th century. Sheets were changed once a week and towels every third day.
