The only potential downside would be for those people with difficulty climbing stairs. As is common with many small boutique hotels there are no lifts in the hotel. However the staff were forward in offering to help carry our bags to and from the rooms.
The Villa Allure is a small 9 bedroom hotel just 500 meters from the old town of Dubrovnik. The location is perfect being so close to the old town, and the upper floors have views out over the sea and the old town (higher floors have better views, but more steps!).
The customer service was first rate. The receptionist, Myma, could not have been more friendly and helpful. She was exceptionally attentive, and made us feel so welcome. Nothing seemed too much trouble to ask.
The rooms were smartly decorated and well laid out, with everything in good working order. There was a minibar, safe, coffee making facilities, air con, and even a jacuzzi bath tub! The rooms were generally very quiet; hardly any noise from the road outside, nor from the neighbouring rooms.
Breakfast is ordinarily served outside on the terrace, but during inclement weather is brought to your room. Each morning the breakfast we were served was filling, fresh and tasty.
There is a small swimming pool which looked very clean, but the weather was not encouraging over the Easter weekend to tempt us to use it. There were plenty of seats outside, and an outside shower.
The wifi worked very well, apart from one night when I guess the modem stopped working.
I would happily stay here again.
