shower in bath - never a good idea and in this case the shower was no good. It was the only bad point.

Too concerned with how the place looks instead of serving guests. The people who run this place have no idea about the business, or how to serve customers. An "Ikea on steroids" design, that hasn't actually been put together very well (As an engineer, I found myself tightening and fixing things in the room). Diabolical value for money. Restaurant prohibitively expensive. We had to keep asking for everything, eg more than 2 tiny cartons of milk for the tea making in the room, or more than one tiny bit of butter with breakfast. We kept asking and complaining about things but we gave up in the end. At these prices, you should not have to keep asking for things. Breakfast at £18 per person, per day - Don't bother, it really is nowhere near worth it. Save yourself a fortune, and get a better location by staying at the Dubrovnik Hilton, which is then what we did after stopping here for 2 nights. The Villa Dubrovnik is the worst, yet most expensive hotel I have ever stopped at. I will not make that mistake again, and I will do my best to make sure no one else does either. It really was that shocking. You have been warned.

Beatiful views of the coast and Dubrovnik Old Town from the restaurant and views out over the sea to Lokrum island from our balcony. Luxurious rooms and spa/pool/gym area were great for relaxation. Lovely food at breakfast and good cocktails in the bar in the evening. A 20 minute walk into the Old Town was pleasant at night to stretch our legs, using the 5-10 minute boat transfer from the hotel during the day was fun. We were there for a treat to end our honeymoon trip and really enjoyed it. Villa Dubrovnik is probably the nicest hotel we will ever stay in!

Ultra modern facility and views over old Dobrovnik that were spectacular. We were greeted with a personalised letter from hotel management welcoming us and little things like small chocolates left on our bed made us feel welcome and extremely comfortable. Drop off and pick up at old Dubrovnik were part of the cost but was still within easy walking distance into the old town. Staff could not do enough to cater for our needs; very friendly and always smiling. Restaurant meals and staff were top class with excellent knowledge over the meals and wine that they served. After spending several weeks in Europe it was also good to have english speaking programs on their TVs.

Everything...pure luxury and relaxed. Loved everything.

Complete lack of directions to hotel given to guests in advance when making booking or via website . No signs at all on nearby road , especially near VillaArgentina . guests arriving on own or in hire car should allow 30 minutes to get lost and eventually find the entrance to a lift above which is a sign ' Villa Dubrovnik ' ! Price of room demands that breakfast should be included .

The location, the design and quality of the hotel, the facilities.

The service levels in the restaurant were hit & miss - little organisation between the waiters and the tables.

It's a totally fabulous hotel with a very professional and kind stuff which does not seem to be kind only out of their formal obligation. Beautiful location, excellent breakfasts, food and service in general.

They could improve some of the rocky beach position accessibility and comfort, and maybe change the outdated beach chairs. Also the policy of the payable front beach position is a bit out of this hotel's category and style.

Of all the luxury hoels we've stayed in this was the best! The hotel has had the best architectural renovation we've ever seen. It's luxury minimalism with warmth and great staff! Villa Dubrovnik has all the vital elements we look for in a hotel: it's quite small (56 rooms), right on the water with a private beach and absolute ocean front swimming, has stunning views over the old Dubrovnik walled town, fabulous food and a glamorous rooftop bar, luxury fitouts and amenities and to top all this off, a fabulous spa using Australian Sodashi products and very well trained and aware spa therapists. We will defintely come back! Well done Villa Dubrovnik staff!

Superb location, very attentive staff. A truly enjoyable experience

Villa Dubrovnik is a sensational hotel, in a sensational position.The aesthetic is modern, and stylish, comfort of the beds and rooms, top quality and the view stunning. The hotels amenities such as the spa, gym and indoor pool are also world class. We have stayed at many 5 star properties around the world and Villa Dubrovnik is among the best.

Pure luxury. A fantastic place in an amazing setting. The views of the old town are amazing. The transfer boat into Dubrovnik old town was a real treat.

I couldn't get an iron as they offered laundry services. All fine usually except there wasn't time (due to time of arrival) to put in the laundry and get in back before I needed it on the first day.

Vila Dubrovnik is a stunning hotel with fantasic views, highly recommended.

Absolutely stunning location, beautifully appointed rooms, lovely staff

Total tranquility, gorgeous hotel and views, excellent restaurant. The location is perfect, outside town but within walking distance, or , the complimentary water shuttle....a luxury launch. If the beauty of the facilities isn't enought, then, try the restaurant. From breakfast to lunch to dinner...simply the best in Dubrovnik. The staff are lovely, attentive, well dressed...a very polished hotel. I look forward to returning.

Boutique hotel with stunning views, and friendly staff.

Service can be somewhat slow.

We only stayed one night for my husbands birthday. The staff decorated the bed with petals and put a cake and sweets in the room for our arrival - fantastic! Didn't use the pool or the spa but they looked great. Lovely room and location overlooking the sea. Breakfast was table service which we prefer and had a good choice. Overall we would rate it 5* and recommend it. We walked to the old town and back, it took us 20 mins each way but the hotel offers a car service too if needed or wanted.
