There was ample parking, the place is easy to find. Babin Kuk is a good base from which to explore the coast and the buses to Dubrovnik are excellent and run early til late. We were upgraded to a bigger room for the same price and everything was lovely. The rooms are very clean and everything you could want for the price.
Staff were hardly ever there and the coffee bar part was closed but then again we stayed during low season so this is understandable.
Good family run villa i had free upgrade to two bedroom apartment some very good restaurant about 10 minutes walk and a nice bar in the small town its very safe to walk at night the Apartments are cleared daily all you need to cook a .meal if you wish .
The pool needs up dating a bit it was off season when i was there so i don't no what its like in the summer on the plus side lovely to sit out in the evening its still all clear.
The view. Two bathrooms Spacious area. Vey clean. The owner and his son were very helpful and presented us with two bottles of wine. Restaurants within walking distance.Nearby bus stop to the old town.
Not enough kitchen crockery. Only three cups.Electric cooker seemed very slow to cook things.
We booked this for a 3 night visit to Dubrovnik post 2 weeks island hopping. Location: Max 15 mins on bus no 6 to the old town of Dubrovnik. This was 30 Kunas return. I'd suggest if staying longer to purchase a Dubrovnik card which offers free public transport and entrance to the city walls/other attractions. There aren't many restaurants nearby but there is one a few doors down (linked to nearby campsite) if you want a drink/cheap food. Accommodation: We stayed in a 2 bed apartment with one bathroom and an additional toilet. The apartment was well equipped, however a toaster/microwave would be handy as well as some washing up liquid! Apartments were very comfortable and clean and we enjoyed a dip in the swimming pool. Akan the owner was friendly and helpful. Attractions: We enjoyed walking round the city walks (100 Kunas each) as well as a sea kayak tour which was great fun. The city is lovely, full of history. Would recommend a stay here for comfortable, modern facilities away from the hoards of crowds in Dubrovnik.
Apartments: We got locked out on the balcony which was not fun! The apartments aren't manned (maybe in summer?) so if we hadn't found a way in we'd have been stuck out there for hours! We got in as my husband used a knife we had with our lunch to unscrew a small bolt. I'd suggest some sort of safety catch is needed. The German shepherd in the apartments next door barked constantly - this is outside of the owners control but still annoying.
Everything was perfect...we stayed there for 4night.Apartment is big, clean, near to the beach and not too far from the old town as well.the owner is very helpful.
The apartment is in a good location close to Copacabana beach, bus stop and supermarket. Takes about 10 minutes on the bus to the old city. Also the port (where the cruise ships dock) and harbour is a short walk away where there are a few restaurants. Comfortable beds, good powerful aircon. Spacious lounge with satellite TV. Good kitchen but we only used it for breakfast. Small balcony with line for drying clothes. Power shower with plenty of hot water.
Use of shower always flooded the bathroom floor. Aircon too noisy to leave on during the night.
Akan, the owner, very personable, friendly and informative. The apartment very clean and well stocked with toiletries and cleaning materials. The location, near to bus to take you to the old city with the buses every 15 minutes until 2.30 am.
Not enough kitchen utensils and no oven.
Loved the spaciousness of the room and easy walk to beach, supermarket and bus route.
Great location! Good apartment complex, nice and quiet. Just a short walk to Copacabana beach. Our hosts/the owners showed exquisite service!! Always doing there best to please visitors!
Owner Akam is a delight helpful and generous to a fault. Location is perfect, you can walk to 3 beaches and get the No 6 bus into the city from behind the apts also you can walk to the harbour where you can get a ferry to the islands and buses to other locations. will return.
The view and the open plan of the villa. The beach was only a ten minute walk.
The WIFI was pretty much non existent. The towel rack holders fell of the wall. The front door frame was loose and was coming away from the wall.
We were picked up from the airport as arranged and the driver was friendly, pointing out things on the way to Villa Erna. I was really impressed with the apartments as they were spacious and clean with more than enough room for the 4 of us. We were staying with my sister and family who had their own apartment above ours and there were more than enough plates and glasses etc for us to eat lunch together on our balcony without having to run between them for things. The pool area was very nice and on the couple of days we had lazy days by the pool we had it to ourselves for most of the time which was like having our private pool! We got the bus from nearby into old town Dubrovnik most evenings to eat as it is so pretty with lots of places to eat. We did eat near the villa in a couple of places which were 15 minute walks which were good as well. Akan and his son were very friendly and happy to make recommendations to us. We got a complimentary bottle of wine made by Akan's father in law which was very nice. The sun shone for the week and Dubrovnik is a great place with very friendly people. We also thought food and drink was very reasonable (probably until they get the Euro) which makes a change from most of Europe which has got so expensive. We had a lovely holiday and will certainly go back to see more of Croatia.
- spacious - walk to Copacabana Beach - walk to plenty restaurants - peaceful area
- far from Old Town, needs a taxi/bus
We liked everything about the villa and the staff. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We really had a good time.
very nice staff..
the hilly area takes a bit of times and energy to get to.
Landlords very nice and helpful with all View amazing and spacious balconies Restaurant very near Beach near Supermarket fairly near Bushtop fairly near
1. INTERNET does Not work in top floor, impossible to organize your contacts and programme nicely in bed, need to dress up and go down to reception. 2. Overpriced like everything in Dubrovnic, no ways anything deserves its money there! 3. Coppacambana beach, like any beach in Croatia, sucks, so only reason to be in Dubrovnic is to see the old city in 3 days max.
Good size room with nice pool. Close to bus stop and short walk to Copacabana beach. Both Alen and Akan were extremely helpful with local knowledge and booking restaurants etc. short bus ride to old town.
Whilst Alen and Akan (reception) were more than happy to help when they could there was a lot of time that they weren't there. Smell from drain in the kitchen. Air con in bedroom not working. Not a huge problem as you can leave window open for breeze. These are only minor points and did not adversely affect our stay in Dubrovnik.
Everything was great, location, beach beautiful, lovely city, very safe, facilities were basic but good, nice pool, staff very friendly
The cost of the accommodation in euro quoted to us on the website did not match up to how much we were actually charged, as we had to pay in Kuna and by credit card we ended up having to pay aprox€100 more, We discovered 2 wasps' nests on our balcony so as a result we couldn't open balcony door off bedroom
The 2 bedroom apartment was a great size for a family and the views over the water were stunning. It is a bit further out of town but TBH if living in the old town there are so many steps to negotiate and it is busy particularly when the cruise ships arrive. Being in a more peaceful location was better particularly if you have children and there is the added bonus of the swimming pool. Apartments were cleaned daily as was the are around the pool.
Owner was very rarely at reception. Wifi was intermittent Pool could have been cleaned more regularly.
Really big apartments with two balconies. Pretty basic but clean and really big living areas with many facilities including microwave, iron, etc. Easy walking distance from main lapad area. Great value for money with access to a swimming pool. Preferred to staying in the much more expensive old town. Bus stop is 10mins walk away.
Not much in the immediate surrounding area.
If you like a more personal service than what you get in a hotel visiting Akan and Alen at Villa Erna is the perfect compromise. Frequent cleaning of the room and change of towels. Nice small pool with sun beds. Garage for cars under the building. Walking distance from restaurants.
Alan and Aken were friendly, relaxed and helpful. There was a really nice atmosphere at the apartments and they even chucked in a couple of free beers and some of Akan's father's wine! The pool and the area around it is small but perfectly adequate for chilling out and then taking a dip when we over-heated. The apartment was keep spotlessly clean and whilst some elements were a little dated by UK standards, it was large and comfortable. It's a matter of minutes to get to the bus stop to take you into the Old Town and staying outside of the walls was actually an advantage. It was also a short walk to the nearest beach.
The 'George Formby' style grill as the only method of not frying or boiling things.
My friend and I were only staying for four nights so wanted to make the most of our time in Dubrovnik. We had emailed ahead to arrange a taxi transfer from the airport to the hotel - Akan arranged this and we had a fantastic quick journey to the hotel, where our driver pointed out different parts of Dubrovnik along the way. Akan the landlord was very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. We were particularly grateful as he upgraded our room to a clean and spacious two bed apartment which looked straight out onto the beautiful view of the harbour and caught the morning sun on the balcony. Even though Villa Erna is advertised as apartments, the rooms were still cleaned on a daily basis. Overall the apartment was of a very high and very clean standard. We were also grateful to be provided with washing up liquid, cleaning sponges, toilet roll, shampoo, etc - features which are often not included when staying in holiday apartments. The pool area was small but well equipped with sun loungers - there were always plenty for all the guests to use. The surroundings were peaceful and calm and only a small walk to the very nice Copacabana beach. It was easy and cheap to catch the bus into Dubrovnik old town - 5 minutes walk to the number 6 bus, and less than a 15 minute journey to the town. We would recommend doing the walk around the city walls or going up the cable car to see some stunning views. A trip across to the island is also a must. Overall, our stay at Villa Erna was exactly what we were looking for and we had a relaxing and memorable holiday for a very reasonable price. I have already recommended Villa Erna to friends and would definitely visit again! The only thing I was I had done differently was take the payment for the apartment in cash, as it is difficult for the landlord to pick up a signal for credit cards - it is a help if you can pay cash!
Nothing - it really was the perfect holiday!
The apartments were really big and spacious. They were very clean.
Overall great experience. I recommend it
