The view and the open plan of the villa. The beach was only a ten minute walk.
The WIFI was pretty much non existent. The towel rack holders fell of the wall. The front door frame was loose and was coming away from the wall.
- spacious - walk to Copacabana Beach - walk to plenty restaurants - peaceful area
- far from Old Town, needs a taxi/bus
We liked everything about the villa and the staff. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We really had a good time.
very nice staff..
the hilly area takes a bit of times and energy to get to.
Landlords very nice and helpful with all View amazing and spacious balconies Restaurant very near Beach near Supermarket fairly near Bushtop fairly near
1. INTERNET does Not work in top floor, impossible to organize your contacts and programme nicely in bed, need to dress up and go down to reception. 2. Overpriced like everything in Dubrovnic, no ways anything deserves its money there! 3. Coppacambana beach, like any beach in Croatia, sucks, so only reason to be in Dubrovnic is to see the old city in 3 days max.
Good size room with nice pool. Close to bus stop and short walk to Copacabana beach. Both Alen and Akan were extremely helpful with local knowledge and booking restaurants etc. short bus ride to old town.
Whilst Alen and Akan (reception) were more than happy to help when they could there was a lot of time that they weren't there. Smell from drain in the kitchen. Air con in bedroom not working. Not a huge problem as you can leave window open for breeze. These are only minor points and did not adversely affect our stay in Dubrovnik.
Everything was great, location, beach beautiful, lovely city, very safe, facilities were basic but good, nice pool, staff very friendly
The cost of the accommodation in euro quoted to us on the website did not match up to how much we were actually charged, as we had to pay in Kuna and by credit card we ended up having to pay aprox€100 more, We discovered 2 wasps' nests on our balcony so as a result we couldn't open balcony door off bedroom
The 2 bedroom apartment was a great size for a family and the views over the water were stunning. It is a bit further out of town but TBH if living in the old town there are so many steps to negotiate and it is busy particularly when the cruise ships arrive. Being in a more peaceful location was better particularly if you have children and there is the added bonus of the swimming pool. Apartments were cleaned daily as was the are around the pool.
Owner was very rarely at reception. Wifi was intermittent Pool could have been cleaned more regularly.
Really big apartments with two balconies. Pretty basic but clean and really big living areas with many facilities including microwave, iron, etc. Easy walking distance from main lapad area. Great value for money with access to a swimming pool. Preferred to staying in the much more expensive old town. Bus stop is 10mins walk away.
Not much in the immediate surrounding area.
If you like a more personal service than what you get in a hotel visiting Akan and Alen at Villa Erna is the perfect compromise. Frequent cleaning of the room and change of towels. Nice small pool with sun beds. Garage for cars under the building. Walking distance from restaurants.
Alan and Aken were friendly, relaxed and helpful. There was a really nice atmosphere at the apartments and they even chucked in a couple of free beers and some of Akan's father's wine! The pool and the area around it is small but perfectly adequate for chilling out and then taking a dip when we over-heated. The apartment was keep spotlessly clean and whilst some elements were a little dated by UK standards, it was large and comfortable. It's a matter of minutes to get to the bus stop to take you into the Old Town and staying outside of the walls was actually an advantage. It was also a short walk to the nearest beach.
The 'George Formby' style grill as the only method of not frying or boiling things.
My friend and I were only staying for four nights so wanted to make the most of our time in Dubrovnik. We had emailed ahead to arrange a taxi transfer from the airport to the hotel - Akan arranged this and we had a fantastic quick journey to the hotel, where our driver pointed out different parts of Dubrovnik along the way. Akan the landlord was very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. We were particularly grateful as he upgraded our room to a clean and spacious two bed apartment which looked straight out onto the beautiful view of the harbour and caught the morning sun on the balcony. Even though Villa Erna is advertised as apartments, the rooms were still cleaned on a daily basis. Overall the apartment was of a very high and very clean standard. We were also grateful to be provided with washing up liquid, cleaning sponges, toilet roll, shampoo, etc - features which are often not included when staying in holiday apartments. The pool area was small but well equipped with sun loungers - there were always plenty for all the guests to use. The surroundings were peaceful and calm and only a small walk to the very nice Copacabana beach. It was easy and cheap to catch the bus into Dubrovnik old town - 5 minutes walk to the number 6 bus, and less than a 15 minute journey to the town. We would recommend doing the walk around the city walls or going up the cable car to see some stunning views. A trip across to the island is also a must. Overall, our stay at Villa Erna was exactly what we were looking for and we had a relaxing and memorable holiday for a very reasonable price. I have already recommended Villa Erna to friends and would definitely visit again! The only thing I was I had done differently was take the payment for the apartment in cash, as it is difficult for the landlord to pick up a signal for credit cards - it is a help if you can pay cash!
Nothing - it really was the perfect holiday!
The apartments were really big and spacious. They were very clean.
Overall great experience. I recommend it
With 6 families and a total of 19 people (12 adults and 7 children) I thought that this house would be a little crowded. I was sooo wrong! The rooms are superb with nice view and very spacious. Akan and Alen was the bests hosts ever! So kind and helpful. Arranging our vacation with restaurants, transfer, serving us in the bar and so on. All of our company really enjoyed Villa Erna and we will return for sure!
With a superb vacation like this I will not be picky about small things (refrigerator was too cold, poolwater was a little dirty and toilet was dripping). This is really no issue when everything else was so good :)
The area is very quiet, but in walking distance to shops, cafés, restaurants, bus stop to the old town, and the Copacabana beach. Lovely view of the Tudman bridge from the huge balcony. The 4-star apartments are really beautiful, clean and comfortable, with almost every possible facility you can imagine. eg. I asked for an iron and next day it was there. They take the rubbish every day. Garage for parking under the house. Swimming pool, small terrace for hanging out. The owner (Akan) wasn't there when we arrived but I called him and he arrived in 5 minutes. He really took care that everything was in order.
The wifi sometimes didn't work but that wasn't their fault, actually it's very typical for the whole city of Dubrovnik.
View from the apartaments #12
Wi-fi not working in dining-room
Staff is fast and efficient, appartment is large and comfortable. Link to old city is rather easy with the bus.
More equipment in the kitchen would be useful
Spacious rooms and living room, kitchen
you should walk euseukhan way to bus stop. we stayed 3 night but more accessories such as shampoo and soap did not. Also card machine was broken so we had to withdrawal
Not A good location No Adriatic view as claimed Poor Wi Fi connection Poor hot water supply.
Great location, 15 minutes by number 6 bus to old town. Bus stop short walk away. Apartment complex is quiet and relaxing. Very clean and apartment was spacious. Close to Copacabana beach too.
The appartment is quite good, big, confortable and there is a small swimming pool in a nice terrace.
The guy that works over there... He is rude, he never works at the reception and we had to call at his croatian mobile to be attended. He bothers you knocking at the appartment to make us pay when he considers it and he invites friends to the terrace to drink and listen to music till late in the early morning. He doesn't have a clue about Dubrovnik nor ferries' schedules... A shame! Quite expensive.
Apartments are ideal for families, very clean and very safe. Pool is small but perfect for kids to cool down. Great outside area for families to sit in shade and relax. Also a large outside table which seats 10-12 people which is great for big family lunches or the staff will do a big BBQ for you. 10 minute walk to restaurant area. Good beach within 5 minute walk which has water sports. Old town is 10 minute taxi ride away. Super apartments
