Score from 104 reviews Very good
The owner is always so hospitable and helpful. Villa fillipa is an amazing place to stay
Simply everything. A very easy apartment, generous in size, thoughtfully equipped. The owner, Miro, is really lovely, he lives there and so is on hand to advise you about the picturesque town of Cavtat and beyond. He arranged transport for us from/to the airport - the transfer being no more than 15mins from Dubrovinik. On arrival we were welcomed with glass of Miro's homemade orange liqueur - so delicious! What's there not to like? A perfect second trip, busy planning a third!!
Nothing. Everything was perfect.
Location so close the the harbour, friendliness of my Host and the comfortable room. It was a great stay.
The laid-back feel of this apartment - as soon as we arrived, it felt like we 'belonged'. Comfortable and fulfilled all our needs. The owner was most welcoming and nothing too much trouble. Thank you so much.
nothing for us but we aware of many stairs if you have fitness issues!
We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment on the ground floor. It was huge and very comfortable. It was quite dark but there is a lovely seating area outside in the garden as well. It is very pretty, quiet and only a few steps from Cavtat's Main Street and waterfront. We loved this place. Nice to have the air conditioning on at night to help us sleep as well.
We stopped in Cavtat for two nights on Villa Filipa. I want to note that we were largely lucky with a choice of apartments! Hospitable owner, clear and comfortable room. The beach is in only 50 m, the picturesque quay, mass of cafe, restaurants. I recommend!
Great location, clean room, friendly and helpful staff. For only renting one of the rooms it was nice to have access to a communal kitchen to make lunch etc
Lovely building in a great location, a short walk to waterfront, bars and restaurant.
No nearby parking not available.
Location just 50m of the flat from best sunbathing area was fabulous. But room and cost also brilliant for what is a cracking resort
Having to come home!
location and the welcoming drink, some kind orange liqour. At first the owner seemed pleasant enough. It was clean
Out of the three nights, we got woken up every morning before 10 by owner or staff. No hot water, ice cold, not so nice after swimming in the sea. Airconditioning only available after 8pm till 6am so we woke up sweating every morning. Maid walked in on us lying naked on our bed (due to the heat).Owner aggresively woke us up banging on the door our last day. This was before 10 am, checkout is at 12. He told us afterwards "I was afraid you would sleep in and miss check out"..right...after giving us a wakeup call every morning! He also tried to rip us off by adding almost 100 Kuna to our bill during checkout. A pity bc the town is great and we have been spending our summers there for almost a decade. Wouldn't recommend it.The owner was not as "hospitable" as we thought upon arrival...
Location was absolutely brilliant. The room was simple but had eveything we needed. It was very clean and our room was cleaned every day. Really good value for money and great hospitality by the owner.
The house is fantastic, the room is nice and the garden is surprising, with big trees. The owner was very helpful and kind.
You can not drive across the village after 6 pm, so you may have to park the car a little far and carry de bags. Apart from that, everything was perfect.
Its a beautiful place to stay, 100% recomended, the owner is so friendly, he helped us a lot, the site is magnific, the views, the town, everything were perfect, I will back
Cavtat was an 'airport' stop for us as we dropped off my cousin to fly back to Manchester after a two week holiday travelling Croatia for two weeks. It's a ten minute drive, which given the beauty of Cavtat seems unbelievable. Lucky we didn't BEGIN here, we may never have left. From the moment we arrived, Miro was attentive, peaceful and helpful. Due to the controlled entrance of the harbour front, we could only take our vehicle in to drop bags, but this is easily done with a call to Miro. The apartment is in a magnificent historic garden, with bird calls and flower scents, to be experienced. The apartment was lovely, and the local village is its own treasure. Beats staying at Express Inn for a flight!!!
Nothing we did not like.
-Near all services -Great owner -Clean and quiet accommodation
We had never been to Croatia before this holiday. Cavtat is a beautiful little town with historical links to Roman times. The harbour and the little stepped streets on the hill are delightful. Only a ten minute taxi ride from the airport, it is perfectly situated on the Adriatic with crystal clear waters and what my wife calls a lovely "vibe". Villa Fillipa is everything that other reviewers have said, and more. If you are looking for a simple, relaxing, wonderfully but subtly attentive holiday experience, then this is for you. From the moment we arrived and sat on the owner's terrace with a glass of his home made orange liqueur, Miro was the perfect host. The history of the building is well documented, but he will happily share it with you. For the duration of our stay, nothing was too much trouble for him. The smell of flowers, fruit and herbs from the garden fill your room when you open the shutters in the morning and, in the evening, a range of restaurants to suit all tastes is minutes away. Fish is expensive but we particularly recommend Dolium and Taverna Galleja for food and Poseidon for honest, cheap food and the best sunset view we have ever seen. We are already planning to return to Villa Fillipa next year.
Nothing we did not like.
What an amazing apartment in an fantastic town. Miro the owner was so kind and welcoming and the apartment spotless, 30 second walk to the sea - brilliant stay. Thank you
The View Great Location Powerful shower Orange Liquor on arrival.
Slight smell of smoke from previous guests.
Old world charm and great location! Steps from Cavtat and around the corner from the beach. Room is basic but clean. The property is actually quite amazing and large. Everyone complains about stairs in Cavtat - this is an easy and central location. You can not drive directly to this location, but this is not a problem, but it is good to know this in advance. The street to get to the location is a pedestrian zone street with only those with a pass can get through. However, if you just leave your car outside the main town and walk to the property, the owner will explain how you can retrieve his guest pass and you can drive up to about 20 ft away from the property, drop off your bags and park your car back outside the zone. The owner will advise you exactly where you can park. Once in Cavtat you don't need a car anyways! Enjoy the amazing "boat parade"!
The owner Miro was very friendly and helpful. The property is very well situated in the resort, which is very pretty and charming. The sea is very clear, turquoise in colour, and very inviting. All the restaurants are good, the Leut, Toranj and Galija being exceptional. The city walls walk in Dubrovnik, together with dining at the Nautica restaurant overlooking the sea were the highlights of our stay.
The ferry ride to and from Dubrovnik when the sea is rough is not a good idea. It is far better to use the bus. Although we were not ill on the ferry there were passengers that were, and it was a frightening experience. The sea is very changeable i.e. it can change from calm to rough very quickly. We also felt that Dubrovnik, although a fantastic city to visit, was too crowded during the day.
Excellent location, lots of character, comfortable beds, very clean and well maintained, spacious.
Towels were a bit hard.
Friendly, comfortable, great location in Cavtat, love it here!
The location and the view over the old town from the top floor and the partial view of the harbour. Cavtat in April is delightful (charming harbour and alleyways, yet not too crowded) It's very handy to the city of Dubrovnik (short boat trip) and there are lovely walks nearby. The house has great character and lovely outdoor space (although the weather didn't quite agree with it when we were there!). The hosts are pleasant and very helpful - we really appreciated the owner's homemade orange liquor and the lift back to the airport at the end of our stay!
The fridge is a little small if you don't eat out every day (but there's all you need to shop at reasonable prices in Cavtat and at the local market).
