A very minor comment - A kettle would be an improvement on the Thermos of hot water - but I know that is a very British thing, and to have any drink-making facility in the room is unusual in hotels outside UK - so well done for that.
If you read the other reviews you will see a theme emerging - and we are going to confirm it! This really is an amazing guest house, where you are made to feel welcome from the moment you arrive. We were in the "new house" (opened June 2014 I believe) - about 50 metres from the main house where the dining room is. The quality of the accommodation is very high - clean, modern, well finished and equipped, with excellent views over the surrounding countryside. The buffet breakfast and evening meal are optional extras, and represent very good value for money -with all the prices explained up front and lots of extras thrown in, like coffee refills and schnapps in the evening. Note that the evening meal price includes an appetizer, starter and dessert - as well as the main course and the schnapps! We found the (free) WIFI coverage excellent throughout the parts of the property we were in, and the Satellite TV was good too. Very efficient heating and air-con systems, and a Thermos jug of hot water in the rooms to make tea / coffee.
The owners and other staff are extremely helpful and friendly, moving effortlessly from English to French to German to Croatian as they speak to different guests. They even promptly answered my slightly panicked email sent as we traveled on the bus from Zagreb, asking which bus stop we should get off at (Mukinje - for the record.) Overall, our 3 nights at Villa Lika were the perfect accompaniment to the stunning Plitvice National Park (a pleasant 20 min woodland walk away).
