Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, quiet. Food was very good. The location is excellent starting point for exploring Plitvice lakes.

The location, it´s a very small village and not a very nice direct environnement, some big constructions in the area, but the région is wonderful

We had a great time as the location was within liking distance of the park. Facilities were adequate for a small via and enjoyed talking with the owner after dinner.

It was so lovely that, we wished we had a day longer! The staff were extremely friendly, hospitable and polite. Hot tub was lovely, our room was presentable and spacious. We even took the massage which was amazing! Meals were delicious, fresh and quite large (what was very good after whole day walking through the park). We had long talks with the owner, who informed us about the history of this family hotel and their near future plans for upcoming season. He said there will be whole new concept for meals with much more food menu varieties, outdoor kitchen, bigger terrace and redecorated rooms. We really enjoyed our stay, so we plan to come back very soon! We highly recommend this hotel!

this 6 room hotel smelled like fuel oil, meaning there was no ventilation inside the house. this caused my eyes to burn and caused headaches. food served was primarily a local "specialty cheese" that tasted a week or two past expiration...think sour milk with a cream cheese consistency.

They were exceptionally welcoming and we were treated to some fantastic fresh fish, after the best cured ham we had ever eaten! I would highly recommend coming here- they also provided us with very useful local information about where to go and how to get there.

The inn-keeper was very pleasant and informative.

What's not to like?

The location close to the Plitvice Lakes. The included dinner was good but no choice of menu and no dessert. The latter was not a problem but people were sitting at the tables unsure if the meal was finished.

We arrived one very rainy afternoon when we couldn't visit the lakes. We were shown to our room but there was no other area where we could relax apart from the room. There is a very pleasant outdoor area and spa but this was of no use in the rain. We went to a nearby hotel just to be able to sit and have a drink.

Hotel staff is really friendly and helpful. Fresh fish was proposed as main course- very tasty!

Rooms need to be repair a little. Not clean enough- under bed slippers were found out.

It was my second time that I stayed in Villa Mukinja and I will definitely come back every year. I absolutely enjoyed every second of my vacation there. The rooms are perfectly nice, staff is more than excellent. The owner prepares the food and I just couldn't get enough. Oh, and the masseuse. You need to try the massage. Just perfect. Even though it was a bit chilly outside, the outdoor hot-tub jacuzzi fixed that while me and my missus drank wine and relaxed in it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. 10/10.

They never bothered to clean our room or bathroom while we stayed there

Nothing. I have stayed in better hotels where I was paying less than £30 per night. Really, really disappointed.

The staff were rude, not welcoming or helpful in anyway. There was no air con nor a fan in the room, we were not shown or told about the sauna or hot tub. Nor were we offered any transfer options. The walk to the park is not 10 mins but about 25. The food was average at best and only one night were we offered local brandy and breakfast did not include the local 'porridge'. Hugely, Hugely over priced. Stay somewhere else.

Lovely friendly and helpful staff who gave fantastic suggestions/guidance as to where to go each day of our stay to get the best/most of our time. Perfect location for getting into the park itself whilst also getting a feel of Croatian village life as opposed to the commercial aspects of the park. Really good evening meals and personal service at dinner time.

Booking.com advertise this as a hotel but essentially it is a family run business within their own home and although it is much much more than a homestay the term 'hotel' is misleading. We had to ask for clean towels and our bins were never emptied (we had a 4 night stay) - really at this price I would expect housekeeping on a daily basis. The wine was overpriced a little unfairly.

The fact that I was way over charged on the payment!!! Total BIll was 280 Euros (260 + 4 eruos taxes + drinks=280) However- as the owner was saying on our departure that payment is cash only- I wanted to pay in Dollars. He calculated the exchange rate from Euro to Kuna to Dollar, and charged me $380!!! if you look at the exchange rate for that day 280euro= $342. that is an additional 10% which was not supposed to be charged. Please confim them- will be happy to receive this payment transferred to my account. No receipt was given or offered to me also!!! Thank you

Good location, good starter of local ham and cheese at dinner

Massively overpriced, scruffy gardens that you would not want to sit out in, no aircon but not even a fan, 35 degrees. No balcony as advertised and when questioned owner just shrugged. Breakfast poor, meat at dinner poor

This little bed and breakfast type accommodation was perfect! Helena, does it all here. She cooks fantastic food, serves you drinks, cleans your room, tells you what to do and best way to look at the park...super nice and friendly. The cool jacuzzi tub(as it was 36 degrees outside and the water in the tub was a relaxing temperature) was the perfect way to relax after a long trek throughout the park. We will definitely come back here again. The hospitality was a+. Everyone here was super friendly and nice.

Way overpriced for 260 EUR for three people in a small room with bath and balcony. Friends stayed at nice place across the way for about a quarter of the price.

We stayed three days. The food was varied and well cooked, the villa was spotlessly clean,The massage was one of the best I have had.Our host arranged for us to get to the airport by private car which was much appreciated.

We felt a bit isolated without a vehicle but anywhere we could have stayed would have been the same
