Villa Marjela  

The hotel was perfect for us, as we were visiting family in the neighbourhood. As a family run hotel with most helpful and service oriented staff, it is a pleasant solution to those looking for a place to stay not far from the city center.

For those not familiar with Split and the various neighbourhoods, the surroundings might be an unpleasant surprise - including a big building site nearby (it was not an issue for us).

Easy to walk to city centre.

It's setting in the middle of high rise tower blocks and general lack of cleanliness of the locality.

Quiet and comfortable with attentive staff.

Located in a high rise area with unmade road and adjacent car-park it forms an oasis in the otherwise featureless and graffiti ridden blocks of flats. Without good directions it may be difficult to locate, but is within an easy walk - 15 minutes - to the city centre. The breakfast provided a limited variety of food.

A small and nice hotel, located in a quiet area, in a walking distance from both the senter of the city and the beach. Perfect for us! Very nice and serviceminded staff. Thank you so much for the bottle of wine and the chocolade box! That was a very unexpected and pleasant surprice! We have travelled quite a lot, but never experienced to receive such a gift from the hotel hostess.

The staff was wonderful. Everyone was helpful throughout my stay. Hotel was modern and clean. Breakfast was nice.

Breakfast was basic. Difficult to find initially

Before booking this place, do yourself a favour: check it's location using google Earth. You will see this hotel is surrounded by soviet sky scrapers, in the poorest part of town. You therefore dont get value for your money. For the rest, this is a simple and clean hotel, but according to me not worth going to.

Bad location. No roadsings whatsover. Overpriced compared to other Croation hotels.

Location was very good. Price was very good. Very good breakfast Staff extremely helpful.

Wasn't very far from town center but was well hidden away behind lots of trees and surrounding land was like waste land.

The location was great. Easy to reach centre of Split.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apt - small, obviously was larger but split up into two apts. No where to sit and eat a meal, no way to boil water (only frypans). Actually felt more like I was in East Germany than in Split staying in this building.

The location was too far from the town in a rather rundown area.

The hotel was spotless and the staff very helpful - all spoke good English. The location was convenient for a day sightseeing in Split - 10 mo-inutes walk from the centre of the town.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and food adequate. Rooms clean and nicely presented.

It was too far away from the main activities (approx. 1 mile)
