Hotel Vis

We liked the beach and the easy way to have a swim. Take a lovely swim before breakfast. Quiet and accsessible in short time. Spacy, nice outdoor areas for relaxing. Convenient if you would like to see Dubrovnik and also sunbathe and relax. We had a nice balcony which felt "private". The bus to Dubrovnik stops right in front of the steps down to the hotel.(15 min to D.?). You can buy tickets in the reception.

Coming from countries up north we definitely would like to eat dinner outside! The hotel has a nice outdoor space, so they should consider to make it accsessible for eating in a better way than we experienced. Put on the lights! Its a lovely place to sit! The breakfast could be eaten outside though. No elevator, but you can ask for help.

Awesome setting & the beach

Air-con did not work.Reported it at 4pm & nothing was done about it.Toilet seat was broken.Eventually moved us at 1am in the morning.

Excellent location. Right on a private beach, rocky/pebbly but still nice and the water was perfect for swimming, one of the best beaches in the area right at your doorstep. Bus stop right outside hotel to go to the old town, takes about 10 minutes you can buy tickets at the hotel desk. The breakfast that was included was good, everything you would want and a terrace over looking the water to eat it at. Nice area to go walking in the evening if you head along the water toward Lapad Beach and past lots of restaurants, cafes and a few places with live music to dance. Very romantic for walking in the evening. The room was clean, simple but meets one's needs. Easy to get to from airport or bus station aswell, there are regular buses and from the airport there is a bus right outside the exit that takes you downtown. Would definately stay here again. Dubrovnik is worth atleast a few nights if not more, by far the best place on the Croatian coast, we wish we had stayed more than just two nights! Oh and the air conditioning in the room was very good.

The only thing I didn't like was that the booking said it was a room with balcony and we did not have a balcony. They were not able to switch us into a room with a balcony until the second night so we decided to just stay in the room we had. Not a big deal.

Good service, nice hotell staff

Beautiful sea view, reasonable buffet meal prices and good food, able to leave luggage past our stay period.

Stairs make hauling heavy luggage difficult

Very picturesque area.Right on the beach.Close proximity to the bus stop to travel into Dubrovnik.Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Location was excellent with beautiful view and very handy and easy for buses into the city. Reception staff were helpful and spoke good English too.

8.30Am wake-up entry by cleaning staff on a Saturday was not really welcome! (Need a do not disturb sign that fits on door!). Booked double room but got Austrian twin.

It was 'cheap and cheerful' and fine for just sleeping - the day was spent sightseeing. The bus stop was right outside the hotel, great for getting in and out of Dubrovnik old town. A pebble beach - most hotels didn't have a beach of any sort.

My bathroom was in need of a refit, the breakfast was basic, a lot of stairs and no lifts.

The facilities/price were of a standard resort hotel. Staff were friendly. The hotel was on the bus route into town. We stayed at the beginning of the tourist season so things were relaxed.

As stated we stayed at the beginning of the tourist season, I don't think breakfast facilities (unless dramatically increased) would be appropriate for maximum room letting. As for an answer to the last section in Q3 I didn't read any guest reviews I booked the nearest hotel to the town available in the price bracket I had in mind.
