A Good quality hotel, in a pleasant quiet location. Excellent transportation links with the Metro almost outside of the hotel.Located in the Embassy area, so not a lot of bars and restaruants, however only a 15 minute walk to the Octagon area where there are many. Just down the road from Hero's square, the castle and the Baths. You can pick up the hop on hop off bus from there . We would take the Green bus recommended by the hotel . The staff were extremely helpful, efficient and friendly. The rooms were high quality and clean and comfortable. Everyone speaks English in the hotel and all over the city. The hotel has a lovely patio garden area where you can sit. The shuttle from the airport is cheap and efficient, would recommend it. The only comment was the cost of the breakfast, which is high at 17 euros each. The hotel provides tea and coffee facilities to take to the room, but you have to ask for them and it cost 5 euros. Found this out when it was too late. They should tell guests on arrival.

I stayed at the Mamaison as I knew it was a few block up Andrassy St. but I like walking, so it's 20 mins to the Danube... I had to move to the Intercontinental the next day and compared to the Mamaison the ICH was an impersonal rip-off as major hotel chains usual are... Mamaison had free WiFi and very helpful staff... Quiet location. Newly renovated rooms... I would stay there again and can highly recommend it. O.

Friendly staff that spoke English (which was important because we generally struggled to find Hungarians who spoke English during our stay in Budapest). The location was really good because it was in a quiet neighborhood but also 2' from Bajza utca metro station, by which you were at a central place in 5-10'. We got our room at a very good price (it was the deal of the day at booking.com) so for us it had a very good value for money. On top of that, when we got there we were told that we got upgraded from a simple to a deluxe room. It seems it was some offer they had during those days. I'm not sure it was so much of a 5-star deluxe room but for us, who have never been in a 5-star hotel, it was very nice. The only thing that really annoyed us was that, despite having a late check-out at 4pm as a part of our offer, on the last day we came back to our room at 14:30 from our last sightseeing, only to find the room upside down. It seemed the cleaning lady had already cleaned the room (she had removed the sheets from the beds and left them on the armchairs, she had thrown the towels inside the sink and even removed the stuff we hadn't yet taken from the bathroom and left them on our luggage). This was a bit frustrating, given that we were walking the whole morning and wanted to rest a bit before the trip (we would be arriving back to Athens late at night). We left a bit earlier but didn't mention anything to the reception as we considered this not worth losing our time for.

Quiet but well placed location with helpful staff. The price we got through booking.com was fantastic value for the quality of hotel. When we arrived we found we had been upgraded to a superior room with balcony and city view at no extra charge, not the courtyard view with no balcony we were expecting. Fantastic.. Only complaint.. Very comfortable king size bed, but with two skinny little single duvets and hard sponge pillows.

Professional, courteous, effeicient staff. The room was superbly layed out and very comfortable, the restaurant was exceptional and very reasonable. Centrally located, a mere 25 minute walk to the Danube. Parking available on site. Excellent. Being charged for internet usage seemed a little churlish, and if you're staying with kids, hide the remote as you get charged £7 odd each time they switch to a pay per view channel without realising.

The location was safe and upmarket - great for two women on their own. I thought the staff (particularly the reception staff) extremely helpful and professsional. They even suggested another restaurant when we could not get a reservation at Gundel and booked the restaurant and taxi for us. This is 5 star service and nothing was too much trouble. We even had the benefit of a room upgrade to a deluxe which was much appreciated especially since we had booked for a special offer price. I would have no hesitation in recommending them. The only negative (which is available upon request I know) was that there were no tea/coffee facilities in the room otherwise everything was perfect.

What an absolute gem of a hotel and such wonderful staff. Our room was really superb with an eye to detail in every nook and cranny. We had one of the best night's sleep in our lives and the bath tub was the icing on the cake with the jacuzzi. The advice from Istvan to eat in the nearby Bagolyvar restaurant was really appreciated as we had a great traditional Hungarian meal. We must compliment the staff once more who never minded going that extra mile to please us and who are a real credit to the Mamaison Hotel group. We will definitely love to return as both this hotel, Hungary and its people made us feel most welcome, making for one of the most memorable short stay holidays we have ever had. Once more many many thanks to Istvan, our check out chap and charming red haired lady. The whole trip seems I dreamt it as it is was of such sheer luxury, relaxfulness. We will hopefully return one day.

Everything is ok, though I would rather say it's an exellent 4-stars hotel, than 5-stars. But friendly staff, nice room, room and bathroom are very clean, free wi-fi, location just near metro station.

The inside of the building has been renovated completely, bringing it up to date with its cozy and tasteful 'boutique' decor. I was happy with this hotel, which was close to the metro and close to the szecheny thermal baths. The food served at the restaurant is good but overpriced. Breakfast is also good but far too expensive (17 euros) if you eat a normal amount. If you put your restaurant bill on your hotel room bill you pay an extra fee.

The hotel is quite good. Comfortable suits, excellent staff. Located in the very centre of Budapest. Quality-price ratio is worth. If breakfast is not included in price, don't order it by no means! For such money it's really poor. In general the restaurant in the hotel (Baraka Restaurant & Lounge) is quite mediocre and extremely expensive.
