Thin walls Noise Bad smell from the bathroom
The Artists Residence is located on the top (5th) floor of a typical Budapest apartment block, this is accessed by lift, which is much needed. This gives great views from soon rooms over the city. The location is fantastic, as it is right next to one of the stations on the new M4 metro lines, so is easily accessible. The beds are very comfortable, and with shutters and blinds at the windows, I slept very well! The shower room is mixed male & female, but each of the cubicles has a lockable door. I was very impressed with the shower room. There are 3 separate toilets available. Wifi is very good, and a PC is also available for use. Before arrival, it is necessary to phone ahead, as there is no reception. Someone will meet you at the street level entrance.
The floor is noisy, with sounds travelling some distance over it. I received a big e-mail of rules after making my booking, which was a bit daunting, but was nothing to worry about.
Good location very close to the metro station and in a walking distance to the city center. Clean bathroom and toilets.
Our room was maximum 6 m2 and it was definitely too small for a longer stay. In fact it was too small even for two nights. Literally, thare was no space to put our bags. It is an old apartament which they divided into separate small rooms. Some are normal and comfortable but some are unacceptably tiny.
Very close to subway. A bit far from city center. Toilet is very clean.
I have to wait for a key to ebter the building almost half an hour and need to use raoming call to confirm your arrival time. So if you decided to stay here, please ensure that you have credit to call in your phone.
Really liked the view from the room and the fact that the location is near the Keleti train station and it's conveniently near a metro station. Walked most of our stay, so found it nice to be near the Duna. We've been greeted by one of the staff, and we haven't been bothered by anyone for the rest of the stay. The residence has a fridge, microwave and an electrical stove which came in handy in the last day when we didn't have money to eat out. It was a great choice considering the value for money. Had a really great time in Budapest, thank you for having us :)
The walls are really thin, you're under the impression that the person next room is right in your room.
Top location Cheap appartment
Small rooms Thiny mattress
Position WiFi Price
Not very clean Walls are thin and you can hear everything
Great view, very high ceilings(so you feel more comfortable), in our room there were 2 big beds, our own toilet room, also there were some stuff to cook. In this apartment there are for about 8 rooms(i don't remember exactly), common area includes toilet, shower, fridge, and some stuff to cook. Everything was great. We had later check-in (at 10 p.m.) and that wasn't a problem. :)
The location, subway station in front of the building and in walking distance from the major tourist attractions. The cleaning of the toilets and showers was really good. The guy who let us into the apartment was really kind and helpful.
There is not a reception, it's not good. However, it's well said in the description of the place, so I was expecting that. I called the guy when I get there, and waited for him about 20 minutes in front of the building. The room I got was really different from the picture, uglier I think. But it was clean and the wifi worked well. I recommend this place.
Localization was very good, the hostel is right to subway station and covered market, in old-fashioned building. Kitchen was well equipped and there was lot of bathrooms, so you don't waste the time waiting in line to shower.
If you go as a couple, you might get the green room without windows - in summer there is very muggy there. In the kitchen there is only an electric oven and there should be an instruction how to use it.
It was in the city cenre and close everywhere. Wifi connection was good and also has kitChen!
Walls were thin so you must be quiet.
close to the city center & good wifi (but to find new place to move out of that place)
Awful place. I would never suggest the enemies to go there((( No personal at all. U should only call to smbd rude to get keys to the entrance door and your place. they never send you infor my mail about passowrds & etc as it is written in confirmation. No hospitality at all. Bad smelly rooms with lack of normal cleaning at all. Some rooms with tiny window near the ceiling (so it’s like the jail), some rooms with paper shared wall with toilet and bathroom. All the movements at shared places (kitchen, lift entrance, baths) will be heard for sure for 100% all the time. Hostel often makes overbooking, so pls have some other place as alternative while coming there not to stay on the street for the night (((
Good location and customer service
all good :-)
ıt has a nice view of the city , good wifi ,clean, close the city ,metro and tram
we couldnt find it easily ,no resepsion
The room and facilities are fine. The shared bathroom is better than most. The location is great just next to a Metro station.
What a nightmare to get in.. We booked in the morning and I advised on the booking form that I needed details texted as I would be on a train from Balaton. No text came and I had to call to get let in. This was a nightmare as I had no credit. A simpler system needs to be started so people can get in the hotel.
The staff were friendly, the room was quiet, the balcony was nice and it was possible to leave the luggage at the residence after the check out period.
There was extra charges for showing up outside of the check-in time and they weren't so communicative by email(I received two form letters and few responses to my questions)
The location is great, just by the metro and with the centre just af short walk by. The price is one of the lower in this area, so if you can accept some dust and a some confused staff this hostel is a good choice. Also it provides free use of a computer with good WIFI - we used that a lot.
The "hotel manager" was much delayed, though we had by e-mail and by call announced our exact arrival time. Fortunately a neighbourgh let us in, and the manager sms'ed the code, so we could get our room after a long jouney. The baths and toilets were cleaned just finde, but the kitcken was really dirty - not great when dealing with food.
Only Location is good, but not perfect.
The first moment I saw my room I was shocked. It was a room smaller than 10m2 and the double bed could hardly fit into the room. Imagine that we didnt have place to open 2 suitcases and we were forced to move outside of the room one furniture. The pictures show large rooms and you have the idea that you have your own bathroom. FAKE! It was nowhere written that bathrooms and showers are SHARED. Towels and sheats are dark coloured, almost black. First time I see this colour in a hotel. Pillows and mattress were the worst quality ever. Especially the pillow was not PILLOW. Generally to have an idea it is a flat on the 5th floor that was seperated into 7 small rooms. NOT RECOMMENDED!
just for sleeping and streetviewing
not clean enough
The distance from the center. Not so good neighbouhood. They never answer to the e-mails.
Located next to subway and tram station. Quiet quarter, fairly central. Good (shared) kitchen and bathroom facilities.
Building being reformed, hallways a bit messy, a bit unhospitable at night, totally unlit top floor entrance -- punching in the door code was a challenge.
Good location near the city center.
The accomodation was disgusting and uncomfortable. There were for example suspicious white spots on our bed plus a lot of dust everywhere. Besides of that we paid approximatly about 10 Euros more than we have supposted to pay.
Location was very nice next to Rakoczy Ter and the view over the city was great
The furniture and facilites was quite poor, cheap Ikea furniture and not even the possibility to cook or prepare sth to eat.
We liked the view in the balcony and also we liked the kitchen and bathrooms. Felt safe. Nice price. Rooms were clean and nice. Ask for AC. They have it in most rooms but only one remote control.
*Cleaning lady (?) was mean and scary and kept pushing us and swearing in Hungarian. *Really difficult to find, unclear instructions, we got lost on the way. NOTE location is rakoczy TER not UTCa! *Thin walls. *Staff felt a little disoriented.
