The Astoria is definitely a step back in time, very olde worldy. Rooms were clean and more modern than the rest of the hotel. Its a hotel more suitable to older people, definitely not for young people. No hotel bar at night you were directed to a bar across the street. |

Breakfast service was very poor. There were too many people in for breakfast at the same, mainly bus loads of German tourists who were like a swarm of locusts. There was no bread/rolls left after eight in the morning. Charging 14 euros was a disgrace. |

our bathroom was very nice and its facilities were good.the hotel lobby and the restaurants are nice. the message service is non-existent.red light on phone is on at all times.tv message feature does not work and staff unrealible to take or forward messages.Matrass had to be replaced.the room was not properly cleaned.the restaurant does not know the difference between ala cart menu and buffet.14 euro buffet is expensive and threre is no ala cart menu although it is displayed that there is.in our 11 days stay we did not used the restaurant facilities. |

Close to Vaci Utca South and Central Market The hotel is classified as 4-star; the service is anything but. 1) front desk staff were rude and unwilling to help, E.G. (a) when asking for messages, response was "what message are you looking for?" (B) when asking clarification of direction, staff rolled his eyes & said "I just told you", (c) refused to book Parlament tour saying advanced booking not available----though it is. We lined up 2 mornings & never got in as tickets were sold out by 11am 2) Poor housekeeping - used glasses, empty tissue box - not replaced. When called at 11pm, was told no housekeeping service at night, 3) In room tv message not working probably, ie message notification remains although message already retrieved - resulting in program interruption every 15 |

Room was spacious. Clean. And even if the hotel is located in a busy road, my room was quite because it was facing in an internal street.Receptionists are very polite and speak several languages. They also took care of our bikes with no problem even if it is a 4 stars hotel. Great breakfast!!!!!! |

Friendly, helpfull, alert, employees. Most of them at least speaking English. Nice old authentic clean interior. Good menue and wine list. |

Excelent location, right in the center of pest. Really convinient for exploring the city and going out at night without worrying about going back. The cleaning service was really poor. Whiping and mobbing the floor was something "unknown" to them. This was really annoying for a 4 star hotel. |

beautifullo building, very well located, in the centre of Pest. Walking distance from everywhere (namely the Danude and the train station) and with a metro stop 5 meters away from the door. Well appointed room, very quiet although in an extremely busy and noisy street. Dated looking furniture, but still within its 4 star standard. Staff could do much better. All the offers stated in the hotels promotion had to be practically begged from the reception and the manners of the restaurant bar staff were appalling (not just to us, I note). |

Great location - within walking distance to a lot of sights and super close to metro station. Nice room and helpful staff. It does still have some of the old world charm which is part of the Budapest experience. |

Hotel Location The fact that there was no electricity during one morning, at the time when it was needed the most. Additionally, one of the receptionists (mid aged person) was not of any help when we enquired on airport transport - he said that he had something to do on the computer and that we have to come back or call him back. This was the same day when there was no electricity at the hotel. We opted to ask for help later and got a very good response from a young person attending the reception at that time. |

The Danubius was so central. Our room was very large and newly refurbished. We also had a balcony. At just 55 euro for each night it was excellent value! 6 euro to have a dress ironed as they do not allow irons in the room-items must be given to housekeeping-very expensive. |

Generally I enjoyed the spirit inside the hotel. The four stars might have been a bit higher but the general standards were quite acceptable. The price could have been slightly lower. I guess Budapest in general is (as for tourist facilities) somehow overpriced (in money terms). |
