Welcoming reception at this very cool, very unHungarian small hotel. Air conditioning a blessing when it was 35C outside. Views from restaurant and terrace stunning across the lake, especially at breakfast with the mist evaporating over the lake. Dinner (pre ordered) was very good nouvelle cuisine (unusual for Hungary) and own winery wines to taste. Breakfast excellent with superb mangalica ham. Vineyards and history all around and an eagle soaring overhead - it doesn't get much better. Oh and the HUF price seems much lower than the EUR quoted. Check.

If you are walking there, as I did, keep faith as signs disappear after first one at road junction. Follow the basaltbor sign and your faith will be rewarded. No obvious reception sign so just press the buzzer at the door and you will be let in.

Rooms were very clean and of good size. The view from the terrace is outstanding.

Gyönyörű panoráma, egyedi dizájn, barátságos fogadtatás, kiváló minőségű borok.

A szálló előtti út látványa szép, de az autók számára "megterhelő". Sajnos földszinti szobát kaptunk, "közvetlen utcai zajokkal" és sajnos ezzel az elhelyezéssel elvesztettük a gyönyörű esti panoráma látványát.

TV war nur Ungarisch-kein einziger Deutschsprachiger Sender. Die Anlage würde sehr viel freundlicher und lieblicher sein wenn große Pflanztöpfe mit z.b. Orleander vorm Hotel stehen würden. Duschkopf ist zu weit unten montiert an der Wand

We arrived after 18:00 and by that time at the reception there was no one who could speak english, only german. This is not what you expect for an 4 star hotel.

Kiváló az elhelyezkedés, a kilátás, a szobák kényelme és a jakuzzi lehetőség.

A reggeli a hasonló szállókhoz képest szegényes és kevés. A helyszínen fizetett összeg magasabb volt a megrendeltnél./ti. a foglalásnál a 2 éjszaka/ pár 48000 Ft volt, mi viszont a helyszínen a szállásért 50000 Ft-ot fizettünk. A régiós kártyát sem tudtuk használni, mert a szálloda nem adott.

Très propre, très esthétique. Bon petit déjeuner.

Hôtel bizarre, aucune affiche, aucune indication, aucun nom affiché sur l'hôtel. Impossible à trouver sans téléphoner plusieurs fois. Le prix indiqué en euros sur la réservations est modifié en monnaie locale, il faut le renégocier. Le personnel n'est pas très bien formé.

Klimanalage hat nicht funktioniert, daher vorzeitige Abreise, da Temperatur bis ca. 35° C.

Very good location and a beautiful view on the Balaton from the terrace. The rooms are very clean and comfortably sized. The dinner was also very good and worth the price.

The room windows are pretty small and from the ground floor rooms look on the road in front of the hotel. There is some view on the lake but slightly disappointing if you expect a great view. Also, there is not much to do in the hotel other than drinking and eating (no garden, no outside pool, etc.).

Way indications signs were missing completely and there's not even a sign or logo at the exterior of the house! No credit cards accepted - absolutely impossible in modern times. Room service was "forgotten" during my stay... At the end: great location, nice design - but "software" needs to be improved.

The view is incredible!

You can hear everything from the restaurant...when you would like to sleep you can still hear the people dining (we culdnt sleep till 12) and they also wake you up with the morning sounds.... There was no heating and it was cold, and there were no blankets . Poor dinner for its price...

We loved the location and the views.

There wifi was not working, in the rooms it does not work at all, which is very inconvenient. In the rooms the size of the tv is so small, it's almost pointless to have a tv, besides there are only Hungarian tv channels. We stayed 4 nights and they did not clean or tidy our room during our stay, we actually had to ask them to do so. There are twin beds pushed together in the rooms with very tiny duvets, and they don't have larger ones at all. The air conditioning is too strong: it feels like a strong wind or storm within the room when you turn it on. The shower in our bathroom was not draining down properly so every time we showered the water kept coming out.

Located in the vines, with a gorgeous view, the Borhotel location can't be beat. Breakfast on the terrace was our favorite part of the experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, the rooms were large and the bathrooms were fully equipped. For a walk in the natural park, through the vines, and do some wine tasting this is the perfect place!

Do not expect a large TV or the best beds or linens. Also it is too bad the windows of the rooms are so small as they have such a fabulous view. Also be sure to have your Hungarian or German dictionarys with you, English is not understood or spoken well.
