The hotel has great location, it's walking distance to most tourist attractions. Staff is very friendly, rooms nice and cozy and continental breakfeast was a nice surprise as it offered also some vegetables :-)
Paid wifi is kind of holdover but as we spent whole weekend outside, it didn't matter too much.
Very good location for touristic purposes. The touristic bus stops and offices just in 300-400 meters, transpotr stations (subway, tram, bus) nearby as well. Gave winter package with discounts,
All front desk clerks was great!
Very good location in the quiet centre of Budapest with a lot of cafes, bars and restaurants. Spacious clean room and bath. Breakfast is ok. Fantastic winter package with free entrance to one of Budapest's thermal bath and pleasant discounts for some cafes and attractions.
Bad and slow wi-fi, esp. in the morning, and for extra charge, uncomfortable pillows
We recently spent 4 nights at the hotel and had a great experience. we arrived at 11am and got our room immediately - didn't even wait for the official check in time. The standard rooms all face the inner courtyard so are very quiet and pleasent. The room was very clean and comofortable, the staff was super friendly and helpful, the breakfast was satisfcatory (no one really expects hotels to have decent coffee). Most importantly, the location is incredible. The Basillica area is truely the center of Budapest, and not Vaci Utca, which is the touristic center. If you're looking for great restaurants, being close to nice bars and being a short walking distance away from all main sights - Hotel Central Basillica is the place for you.
It's unfortunate the wi-fi is paid. Also, the heating in the building during winter time is a bit too hot.
Helpful, flexible staff
friendly staff, rooms clean, good value for money
Rooms extremely warm(even in January)!
Location, location, location. Courtesy of staff.
We had the apartment type. The living room is rather dark at night (lighting is not good). We were there in winter and the rooms tend to be too warm/hot as we could not really control the heater. We had to open the windows when it was 2 degrees outside!!
We stayed 18th to 21st Dec we went to visit the Christmas Markets, the hotel was in a great location for all the markets the reception staff were very helpful in advising us of places to go and visit
The breakfast was very strange one day we had rice pudding! there was no toaster so we stuck to bread and jam! Coffee was good though
Plenty of restaurants, shops, sights close by (don't stay in Buda!) Power shower & modern facilities in quiet room on top floor, Receptionists were all most polite, helpful, friendly & professional
It's a good place to stay, so what is there to complain about ?
Staff at the reception was extremely helpful and very friendly
Breakfast was mediocre WIFI: While the connection was good it was a hassle to login via the Hotspot system. Took several attempts each time
The WiFi is 5 Euros for 24 hrs, PER DEVICE! WiFi access like this is simply unacceptable in this day and age. The double bed was two single mattresses cobbled together which is another no-no. Despite the location I wouldn't stay here if were to come to Budapest again.
Room foods cleaning
Location is wonderful - centrally located to the river, sights, restaurants, shopping, transportation (hop ons, metro, buses) Great view of the Basilica! A variety of airport transfer opportunities were offered & follow through was great. Rooms modern, clean & fairly well appointed. Apartment for 5 w/2 full baths is awesome! Good variety on breakfast buffet, but not as wide as some other hotels.
Thin foam mattresses that are low to the ground are fine for children and teenagers, but suck for adults who have curves and more weight. I asked about hop on tours and I was directed only to the one they partner with, which was much less reliable than the other one seemed to be. Staff asked a pick up location question of the tour company for me but either they didn't ask if the pick up would happen or the tour company's schedule was not reliable - we waited much too long in the cold for a tour pick up that never came!
Great location in the centre, everything in walking distance, good breakfast, clean rooms, friendly staff, definitely will stay in the same hotel when next visiting Budapest
no parking places in front of the hotel
Staff spoke English and were helpful. The location was convenient, across from the bridge leading to Castle Hill. It was a pedestrian street and well lit, so you felt safe going out later at night. Breakfast buffet was adequate, not great, but gave a good start to the day.
We requested 2 twin beds, which they provided us. The sheets were very small and no mattress pad, so the slightest roll would pull the bottom sheet out. The room was not well vacuumed, which should be the minimum of housekeeping. The wifi you had to pay for per day, per device and continually sign back into or get them to reset.
again - excellent location of the hotel!
meager breakfast (on the 2nd day bored). chargeable WiFi (5 euro for 1 day, 7 euro - three days stay) a polyethylene mattress pad - constantly sweating at night
wifi is 5 eur/day, this is the first hotel i`ve been to that has paid wifi
Ideally situated, friendly helpful reception staff and spacious comfortable rooms
breakfast included was ok location was awesome parking deck was close by but not included room was clean and comfortable value was pretty good considering the location, but we stayed on a weekday
Terrible coffee parking not included staff was rude no early check in
Location in the city center, just in front of st. Stephan basilica. Very helpful personnel
Extra charge wi-fi. Poor breakfast, fine enought for 2 days only
Location is brilliant, staff helpful and room was nice, very good value for the money we paid.
- very good location - good hotel
- no parking dedicated to the hotel. however, there is a private parking which can be used
Service and location
The location of the hotel
-The beds were unconfortable -The pillows were yellow and smelling -The duvets are 2 duvets for 1 person, not very confortable as a couple
