A great second trip to Budapest and teh City Hotel Pilvax was once again our "base". Great staff, who were very knowledgeable on locations and things to do. Amazing location. Walking distance from everywhere. Clean and comfortable. Definitely will stay there on each trip to Budapest!

could walk to close to main attractions, staff is good

Closest parking is far, unable to drive the car to hotel, it is allowed for residents only. Hotel is dated but clean, breakfast is acceptable once

Great location on a quiet street in heart of Pest. Very close to all public transit.

Very important: the hotel has NO elevator.

    Location was very convenient.

The man that greeted us had a very unfriendly and unhelpful attitude. The room was 2 floors up and he refused to help with bags. There is no lift!!! The younger man who was on the evening shift and check out in the early morning was much nicer

Actual location is excellent, near shops/attractions bus stops etc.but pedestrian street so no car access. We had to park a good ten mins walk away and drag cases. Bar/bistro on site. Friendly female receptionists', very helpful.

No lift. Not good humping suitcases up several flights of stairs. Awful beds. Curtain hanging off rail so wouldn't close properly, room lit all night from streetlamps so sleep impossible. Miserable reception chap, didn't even look at anyone.

The hotel was in easy reach of other facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were adequate.

The shower needed to be a little bigger and there were a few repairs needed to it.

Great value for money and very central. Room was spacious and very clean. Air con was great as was the fridge in the room. Wifi was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of literature and guides available in reception. Will stay again.

Shower cubicle was small and there are lots of stairs (depending on where your room is). We ended up climbing four stair cases which could be a problem for elderly or less mobile people.

Walking distance of many many tourist attractions. Lots of great eating spots close by. Reception staff very helpful.

For anyone with mobility issues a lot of stairs to second floor especially hauling up big suitcases.

The very friendly and helpful staff....the central location

Standards in the room rather poor...curtains did not meet,air-conditioning entirely ineffective.

Easy to negotiate using the metro. Good breakfast.

Do not waste your money here. Advertised with air conditioning, which blows hot air and the desk clerk doesn't do anything about it. We heard other couples complaining as well. The drapes and the carpets are filthy. There is no lift. One could open the windows for air, but very noisy streets. When we asked for recommendations of where to go, the male clerk shrugged his shoulders and circled the area he said was for tourists...he is working there because tourists are visiting his city, but -- again-- he could have cared less. Don't order water! € 9,90 for a ,5 l bottle! Pick another hotel, one which understands how to provide customer service.

Location, location, location, we could walk everywhere. Greg? At front desk was especially helpful and thank you for that. Restaurants everywhere to sample Hungarian foods.

On second floor but had three flights of stairs to climb to get there so if have mobility issues this is a concern as no one to assist with large luggage.

    The localization is perfect!

They don't have lift. And the shower is a bit small.

The location; it's walking distance to most spots of interest and walking street. Very helpful staff. Breakfast (additional) but fair value.

Hardly any public rooms, no elevator at all. Staircase off center, requiring long walks to the rooms. Bad news for anyone with luggage. One person on duty, acting as receptionist, cashier and concierge, so no porters. Bathroom shower is tightly in a corner, no amenities, soap in dispensers, like public rest rooms. It gets its "stars" from location, not as a hotel.

Location was good but that was about it.

No lift, room was not clean, dirt visible on lampshades, walls, bathroom etc. Curtains do not fit windows whatsoever so light gets through very easily. Pub underneath hotel and can hear music and people on the street until very late at the weekend. Air con didn't really work. Stayed at the hotel because of good reviews they received but regret staying there.
