A beautiful place very conveniently located for the horse show at Bugac. The lady running the house is very friendly and welcoming - and quite reluctant to accept that you may not be able to understand much of what she says! (She speaks Hungarian & German and so this was our fault, not hers) A very good home cooked meal and breakfast was fine.
It is very "rustic" and you have to be able not to worry about things like the shower putting half the water onto the floor.
A fairy-tale place in the deep countryside: horses, cattle, goats, pigs, dog and cat! A very comfortable room, a lovely home-cooked 3 course dinner with great wine. Our hostess was very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome - thank you.
A bit difficult to find - a long sandy drive well off the main road - but do not give up!
We liked that is was close to the horse show, that is why we chose it. We like the look of the building and the grounds, very quaint and rural. The hosts were very friendly. The breakfast was good and plentiful, the evening meal vas very tasty.
We felt that the price was much too expensive for what was there. The pictures are not quite accurate. Although our room was large and the bed comfortable enough it was not one of the "nicer" rooms pictured. Although it looked clean and the bathroom as well, there were someone's pants hanging in the armoir! Also be aware the hot water for the shower is attached to the tap in the sink. And the whole place was very untidy. Clothes were hanging everywhere and there was stuff piled everywhere! The beautiful dining room in the photos we never even saw...maybe only used for groups? The tables where we ate were set up in the hall you walked through to get to the stairs to the bedrooms, and there was one table shoved into a corner of the lobby with "stuff" all around it. The supper was delicious but significanty over-priced for what you got and what the average price is for Hungarian restaurants. Our stay for one night with breakfast and supper cost the same as some B&Bs cost us for 3 nights without supper. The whole place could use a big cleaing and renovating. It is too bad because the outdoor design is very charming and the indoor could be as well with even just a good cleaning! Also be aware that the road to the house is only a dirt road and you have to drive quite a long way. We arrived in wet weather and it was very bumpy and rutted, so not everyone will want to drive their car on this type of road. All in all, it was a disappointing stay with our expectations quite high because of the charm of the photos.
