Staff very courteous, helpful and charming, with excellent English. Restaurant good. And the thermal baths etc are wonderful and highly recommended.

My room was basic - like a student residence from the 1970s - but clean. Everything worked and the bed was comfortable, so no complaints. There are smarter rooms available if you want this.

The helpfulness of the staff was exceptional. The comfort was good and access to the spa pools was great.

I would have really apprecaited a kettle in my room. Like many people I would have liked to make a cup of tea last thing at night and first thing in the morning. Room service is not really an option for this.

The staff of the hotel were the highlight, for me. They were very welcoming, helpful, and gave helpful suggestions. The ambiance of the hotel is one of appreciation of history and culture and the staff embodied this help and respect.

This is an old hotel with a nice, exclusive atmosphere. Of course this also means it's a little worn out here and there. The staff was very professional and friendly. The thermal baths are very beautiful and well maintained.

I have stayed at tis hotel befre about five years ago in Winter. This time being summer we suffered lots as the hotel has no air conditioned rooms. On the last night I was served a meal of salmon which was not edible as it was stone cold in the middle!!!!!!! I did eat a small amount and was very ill the next day. I tried to explain to the reception staff who appeared not interested just like the previous evening when I was not given any explanation as to why the meal was cold. This did spil our holiday and I very much doubt that I would stay at The Gellert again, it is certanly not worthy of four stars and I will be stating my points on trip adviser and other relevent sites, I am disgusted to be honest with you, regards Liz Dumbell.

It was extrememely hot during our stay so we absolutely loved the pool and the wave pool. Unfortunately, we did not use any of the hot pools. We loved the view from our room, overlooking the river. Air conditioning would be an asset.

Unfortunately there were ants and other bugs in our room. There were also bugs on the floor in the dining room.

There was no air-conditioning and we were in the midest of a heat-wave with temperatures reaching 42 degrees on one day.Do not visit during hot months !

Our superior room was big and comfortable but a bit noisy and without air condition ! (it is problem in summer time) - it is a pity because with air con and some renovation (specialy bathroom) it could be superb hotel with its Art Nouveau flair.

In general the staff was attentive, ( except int he breackfast room ; they never knew I was there as they didn't pay attention, and to my question ; where I can smoke, I got the reply ; nowhere here !)

The room was outdated with old furniture, very basic ! too basic !! nothing to do with luxury, and the pillow was so flat was no point using-it . No aircondition, very difficult to use the tv as the many made no sence
