Mala Garden Design Hotel    

What was there not to like ? We were greeted, cared and catered for in a first class manner, by the professional and friendly staff at the Hotel. The food, which we had read so much about was superb - I have never eaten such delicious duck, ever. Breakfast was delicious and we were offered cooked eggs and bacon, as well as a buffet. We came home feeling fully relaxed, and yes we would go back and yes, we have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. I would think in the summer months it will be VERY crowded in and around Siofok.

Siofok itself was not to our taste - but the opposite side of the lake was quite picturesque, and well worth a ferry trip.

Hotel staff was great - it was the best experience I had during our stay, friendly, warm, professional. I really enjoyed staying in Mala Garden and I'll return there for sure.

- No Reception. - Service very very poor when checking out (after few mistakes) no name on the invoice - Waited 20 minutes for a breakfast. - Breakfast after 08.30 a.m. ...not acceptable.

I think it is the best hotel in Sifolk. Excellent location, excellent and sufficient breakfast, very nice and conteporary style room, very polite stuff. Would recommend to everybody for stay

We were a company of 10 friends inc. Couples and singles age 24-38. One of the best restaurant we have been to all over the Europe. Very good design. Actually it's the best hotel in Siofok.

All of us thought there was spa in the hotel. No It wasn'T. It's about 3 km from mg to spa.

Superior service and staff, place reflects perfect harmony, we will definitely return.

Mala Garden is a luxury Thai-styled hotel on the shore of Lake Balaton and it exceeded our high expectations. We were greeted with a complementary glass of wine which we enjoyed by the lake at sunset. The rooms were simply stunning: fantastic decoration and really comfortable. We ate dinner at the restaurant and it was resaonably priced and exceptionally high quality. This hotel is very highly recommended and I hope to return.

We had a fantastic 5 night stay. The manager met us personally on our arrival. We had some business to attend to in the area and got to the hotel late after a long drive. The manager provided us with food and drink without our asking. The room was absolutely beautiful and extremely comfortable. All staff were friendly and attentive and the food was out of this world. Although we had booked only breakfast we had dinner 4 of the 5 nights as there was nowhere to match the quality of the Mala Garden. My daughter had stayed at another hotel in August but had eaten at the Mala Garden and was very impressed. For that reason we decided to stay there. Thank goodness we did! What a gem.

Great service, very nice modern rooms. Good resturant. Staff speak good English and very helpful. Parking out front. Overlooks the lake, good location. Far enough from the busy strip to be quiet but only 10 minutes walk to the nightlife in the summer. Good internet connection via lead, wireless OK.

No working space in room (desk). Nothing really to dislike, would use again

The management and staff were great. They were very friendly and nothing was a problem. They even made us lunch packs for our train trip to Croatia on the day we left. The rooms are modern, spacious and comfortable.

My wife reckons the bathroom could use brighter lighting.

The room was spacious and extremely well presented and spotless. I really had know idea what to expect as I have often been disappointed in the past and this wasn't the most expensive by any means. The bathroom was luxurious and I loved that it had a bath with good quality shower in the bath. The balcony was a real bonus and we had views over the lake. The staff were really helpful and friendly but also laid back. We were given a welcome drink while they checked us in. I was a bit worried that there was no hotel reception part, you check in at the bar, however, on reflection this added to the stress free aspect of the stay. Breakfast was great and included in the price. Although in reality it is a restaurant and bar with rooms over the top, it feels like a luxury hotel. We were given a small gift at checkout. My husband is fussy about hotels and likes quality and he wanted to stay an extra night. It doesnt have a pool but you are right opposite a sandy 'beach' . We ate in the restaurant which was good. All in all an enjoyable experience.

Stayed at the Mala Garden for 3 nights and I can only say about good things about this place. We stayed in a deluxe room which was very spacious and the bathrooms were great. Staff is very friendly and the restaurant downstairs serves good quality food, has a modern design and a very relaxed atmosphere.

There was one incident where the waiter accidentally spilt an entire cocktail over a friend. Luckily we were staying at the hotel so he went up and quickly changed. The staff didn't really handle it very well but the management made up for it. They gave the entire table free cocktails and dry cleaned the clothes. It would be concerning however if we weren't staying at the hotel, how they would handle the situation, especially how the staff quickly apologies and ran and the other staff made jokes of the situation. I think it was a cultural thing to try and defuse the tension but it just made it seem like it was a joke and didn't care.

Mala Garden is a stylish boutique hotel in a perfect spot on Lake Balaton . The rooms are well appointed , very spacious and comfortable . The staff are professional, friendly and extremely helpful - the manager even dropped us at the Airport ( Budapest , that is ) which was very generous indeed . Breakfast on the upstairs balcony is special and the restaurant is really first class - we dined there every night . Exceptional value , and highly recommended .

We were welcomed with a glass of champange and we had room 6, which has the biggest balcony with the best lake view (we wrote ahead of time and asked for a lakeview room). Breakfast was included and besides the normal European style breakfast we were offered eggs as well. All drinks and meals at the restaurant were discounted 10%. The food was good and the service was always excellent. It is directly on a small beach and a bit away from the main tourist street in Siofolk.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Mala Garden. The manager and staff were very welcoming and attentive. We felt spoilt. Great breakfast and the Mala Garden has an excellent restaurant. Spacious bedroom furnished in dark wood with a Balinese theme. We would definitely consider going back there for a week stay.

A great concept having a restaurant with rooms, didn't feel like an ordinary hotel. The facilities are very well taken care of which is not the norm in Hungary. The young staff is really helpful and everyone spoke english.

The worst things we could think of was that there was no slippers in the rooms and there was only huge and tiny pillows, that is; nothing that should keep you from going there. Very nice hotel over all.

Hotel deserves its excellent reputation. The design of hotel and design of rooms is lovely, cuisine is fantastic (meals were of the best we ever had). We appreciated the kid's corner. Location is also perfect, right on the beach. Staff is very professional and friendly.

Just small details - the light in the bathroom was very weak. Understand it should correspond to the discrete lightning respresenting the character of the place, but you need a stronger light to shave or have a make up. The shampoo and shower gels were excellent quality, but were not replaced by new ones, after we used them. One little thing annoyed me in the end - we decided to stay one night extra. All other customers left and due to this we were not offered a buffet breakfast on the last day, only very simple breakfast instead. These are only detials, otherwise hotel was superb.

Nice designed boutique hotel with value for money. Excellent restaurant attached giving superb breakfast. Welcome drink was included which was nice surprise. Friendly staff. Hotel has a perfect view to lake from room 6. Other rooms are on the side of the hotel. Hotel gives nice high quality soaps, bath gel and shampoo. Hotel gives a boutique 5 star feeling. Really worth staying here, was excellent experience.

TV was rather on the small side. Did not include a coffee maker in the room, but the coffees at the restaurant are more then excellent, so is actually better to take the coffee to your room or balcony. Nothing to complain about!!!

Wir haben uns von Anfang an sehr sehr wohl gefühlt! Von der Begrüßung bis hin zu unserer Verabschiedung war alles sehr herzlich und Familiär. Von den Angestellten bis hin zum Hotelchef waren alle sehr freundlich, Hilfsbereit und haben immer ihr bestes gegeben, uns einen erholsamen, wunderschönen Urlaub zu bereiten. Man hatte wirklich den Eindruck, dass jeder Angestellte Freude an seiner Arbeit hatte. Wir konnte unser Zimmer wie gewünscht schon früh am Morgen beziehen und am Abreisetag auch bis zum Abend nutzen. Selbst um die Wartezeit bis zum Check-in zu verkürzen gab es gleich einen Kaffee auf`s Haus und auch bei der Abreise gab es noch eine kleinigkeit des Hauses. Also alles in allem wirklich Top und zu 100% weiterzuempfehlen. Vielen Dank an das gesammte Team!!! Wir kommen wieder;)

Strand könnte etwas ansprechender sein, was allerdings sicherlich an der Jahreszeit lag und im Sommer ja schon ganz anders aussehen kann.

Très bon accueil , le restaurant est super, petit déjeuner très complet et de qualité, chambre spacieuse et belle décoration. Remise de 10% sur le restaurant, verre de bienvenue offert et petits gâteaux sec pour notre départ !
